@@douglaschristine8387, he put his foot on the monitor to hold the guitar more stable as that modified tapping technique he is doing at an insanely fast tempo is a lot easier without the guitar just hanging from the strap.

It's cool that they're back together. I remember MTV trying to get them to do a reunion and Nuno slammed the door in front of the camera and wouldn't talk about it, no was his answer back then.
But now I don't hear any hook in their new stuff, it doesn't grab my attention. At least none I've heard so far.

@buckbreaker5185 if you know your scales and keys, your don't need tabs. Many were playing this note perfect within an hour of it going live on UA-cam.
It's really not that mind glowingly hard, it just takes discipline and tone control through the muting with your picking hand.
And despite what he says, he does use an effect on the last part of the solo - I've seen him do it live, and the GT8 don't lie...
This clearly shows that this was not a studio assisted thing. Fantastic.

That’s crazy talk. The arpeggio shredding part at the end is very musical the way it interacts with bass and harmonized vocals. Also listen to his rest in peace solo. One of the best melodic solos of all time.

What's so sick is that this is live. He's just jamming. Hard. Also fast/technical (to an extent), yet not making any noticeable mistakes. That's legendary that's professional right there.

Nuno is at least top 15 or 10, if not even lower. His solos and ability to "sing" them with his guitar while incorporating all that tapping is guitar god like.

My mom used to see these guys play local shows. Now at 34 and my mom 62, we see them every time they come around! My mom knows good music!

He consciously wanted that fire that Ed weilded so adroitly. Its not a rip off. Its 100% Nuno. He just pushed himself a bit more for the memory of EVH. And I think Ed would have fucking loved this solo.

The proof is in the playing, and this guy is Everclear 200 proof, raw, talented, gifted, and persevering.
I think Nuno’s soloing is great because he’s being himself. It’s about “what can I add that makes the song better”. Obviously it’s amazing but it’s the WAY he plays it. A really good player could probably learn some of this but no one is going to sound like hm. He’s definitely old school where you personal sound/style is everything.
I was never the biggest fan, but really only because I had not heard much of his music. But I respect him nonetheless as a virtuoso level guy. Of course he can play anything, has chops and technique for days. I should prolly go back and listen to some of his older stuff when I get time. I am really big on Guthrie govan, Marco sfgoli, rich graham, Gary Moore, I also like the Zakk wyldes and Andy James and Johnny hilands of the world and most certainly Andy Timmons. Nuno is definitely in that same pocket with those guys. That I know!
Great guitarist. And he’s still got years of great playing ahead of him - he makes 57 look pretty damned good. He should join a good band. Work with some legendary groups, or new, more creative artists. Tired of hearing how great Extreme is. Nuno worshipers tell themselves Extreme is an amazing band. The honest, real-world consensus is that they’re a boring, lackluster, band with uninspired songwriting skills who manages to stay afloat because of Nuno’s great playing. They’re a one-hit-wonder in which that 33-y/o-hit showed off vocal harmonies more than guitar playing. His happiness is all that matters. But it would be great to see him as part of something truly creative, even if that means being support; a great lead guitarist working with more creative songwriters.
Not bad, but Randy was doing twice that 30 years ago. Watch Texas preshow. Hes warming up and walking round. I love the veriations in the fluttering tho, gives a since of true feeling.
Eddie Van Halen would have two different responses. One would be publicly saying that Nuno got all those techniques from him. Ripped him off. And the private response, which is that he loved it.

It's weird how that the best guitar players sound worse the better they get. It seems like they don't care what it sounds like. They just want to prove that they are fast. EVH and SRV knew how to fuse modern picking and soulful sounds and timing together. That's what makes them kings. Even The great Randy Rhodes went to far on solo's. But he proved he has soul too. Just too much to prove. Hard to listen to his solo's on stage. Lotta garbage.

That's not a bunch of hammering, pull offs and finger tapping. It's picked out plus the timing and note selection is not normal which is why it's so difficult for other guitarists. You have to retrain your brain and hand coordination.
