Greetings from Boston from Russian! Ever since I retired from former Soviet military I use my Straight razor and Gillette shaving cream and hot towel on my face immediately before shave. 150ml of vodka and a pickle after. One could guess I shave for my wife after work before going to bed
Good afternoon Ash, Wow, I’ve never seen anyone shave as fast and aggressive as that. However, to be fair, I’ve seen very few people in my life shave. My father never taught me anything. Much less how to properly shave. So, I thank you for your video. I found it very informative, educational and entertaining. Thanks again for all the content you provide. It’s very appreciated. Take care.
Osma is in glass as well. And great with my badger and my synthetic trafalgar simpsons brush. And then the choice of my Dovo Bismark, Bergischer Löwe. Thiers Issard evide Sonnant or my recently acquired Ralf Aust.
Ash, love your videos and can't tell you how much I appreciate all the hard work you put into them. I was so intrigued and entertained by your review of the P&F shave product video. I have and still use multi-bladed swivel safety razors both growing up in the USA and now live in Spain and continue with as such. Just to be sure, I have never experienced a bad skin cut shaving and enjoy beautifully smooth shaves with one application. To be fair, sometimes I will go over certain areas of my face more than once. But I often wondered if I too should use a double-edge safety razor to shave as I watch many men, including yourself, on videos rave and comment about their experience. After watching this video today, I have made my decision. At the10:50 mark on this video I saw the cut on your right jawline and, 🤕sorry to say, THAT convinced me to stay with and continue to use my Gillette multi-swivel safety razors. Please continue to make excellent videos about Chap Nirvana as I support you all the way, but I had to comment, I cannot follow you down the double-bladed razor path. I salute you sir! ☺
I think your shaving videos are my favorite! You got me started on using a double-edged razor and I followed the rest of the routine from there. No one in my family used a double-edged razor so I was not sure how to use it. I watched your videos carefully for technique. I think the best shaving creams are British. American stuff is limited. Some shaving soaps and aerosols like Barbasol. Now it is my essential morning starter. Great joy, great fun. Thank you, Ash.
I use the Turkish Arko shaving soap and a disposable Gillette sensor razor. I have used Arko for some 20 years now. It is such a good product that I always buy a box of 10 soap sticks every time I am in Turkey.
I have a beard, but still shave the upper cheeks and neck, so I get the best of both worlds 😂 I just use "Savion" shaving soap and a double edged razor. No pre- or after- products. A bit of Tabac cologne after the shower and I'm ready so face the world.
I used to shave with a DE razor, had the brush and shaving soap, the whole kit as a young man then went away from it and now I'm back to using a DE but I don't use shave soap just the stuff you squeeze out from a bottle. I'm using Kiehl's right now and I don't like it. I have a tube of the new Henson cream and I'm looking forward to using it. The good thing is that I'm genetically disadvantaged beard-wise so I can use a blade for almost two weeks before it becomes sort of dull. I find the new blades to be too sharp and when they dull just a bit they are at their sweet spot. When they are new I tend to nick my upper lip and the side of my mouth.
Great episode. BTW I got my first product from Taylor of Old Bond Street recently. A shower gel, high quality indeed. I was introduced to the brand on your channel. Same goes for Truefitt and Hill, shaving soap - also great stuff. And I need a shave. Gonna be using shaving soap and after shave from TABAC yessir.
Hi Ash, enjoyable and informative video. Going to check their website out, thanks. As a double edged safety razor user, I think you may also benefit for Osma Alum block to , I’d be interested in your thoughts on Alum blocks?
Great review - and tempted by the quality of the cream, decided to order some from the Plowden and Fallow website. Alas, they don't ship all over the world; the UK seems to be the only country available for shipping, so overseas customers are missing out. :( Have a word, Ash. Have a word.
I like when you mention British brands “that we all know,” cuzz as a Texan, none of these sound familiar. All we have is Barbasol and Gillette if you’re feeling fancy.
Hello Ash, not sure how you assessed them to be more affordable than other brands. I'm a TOBS shaving cream user and a 150gm tub costs about £12 while Plowden and Fallow's 200gm tub costs double of that! Much more expensive I'd say
Survived the military, survived law enforcement, but the amazing thing is you survived shaving hypersonically with a high setting on your adjustable DE razor. What's next Mr. Jones, juggling chainsaws?😛
I'm also using proraso, the aftershave they do is 97% natural origin. It's also free from phalates and parabans, which is a bonus. You do need to be careful with fragrance, they can contain nasty stuff. Given the price point it's great stuff.
TBH I think £88 for aftershave is very pricey and not something your everyday folk would prioritise, especially in this cost crisis. I would be putting that towards heating bill or food. But that’s just my perspective. I do understand though when mention it’s a good price for what it is but I’d rather splash a bit of Brut on 😂
Hi Ash A good, clean scrape there. There is satisfaction in a wet shave, especially with a safety razor. As an aside, How did Oak Lodge fare in the storm? 🫡

I popped out and bought some of this on your recommendation, and it is absolutely superb😊
Mamy thanks, Ash!
Glad you like it!

Good shave beautiful day. Great review. Cheers y
I'll be in London Thursday, I'll be hitting the shops on Jermyn street!

I’ve checked with P & F and they will be available in the USA from 2025.
@@TheChapsGuide much appreciated, Ash. Alas, I'm in Canada, so hoping they'll include The Great White North in their expansion plans.
Even with a full beard I still shave daily under the chin and the neck.
I like when you mention British brands “that we all know,” cuzz as a Texan, none of these sound familiar. All we have is Barbasol and Gillette if you’re feeling fancy.

I’ve used TOBS for many years, great stuff. P & F is definitely a level above in terms of performance and quality.
Survived the military, survived law enforcement, but the amazing thing is you survived shaving hypersonically with a high setting on your adjustable DE razor. What's next Mr. Jones, juggling chainsaws?😛
Do you still use a pre shave face scrub Ash. I use Hawkins and Brimble scrub, which is recommended for your pre shave routine
I use Proraso pre shave when at home.
Do you not still like the Porroso (?) preshave? You seemed to enjoy it previously.
Yes. I still use it most days. Excellent stuff.

Sir OG, can we except some fragrance review soon?
Very soon sir
Why not..
I’m not sure it’s a good idea to use all those different scented post shave products, surely one post shave balm is enough for anyone!
Bro’s making the most of being homeless. M
Hehe a suggested name for your shaving channel “The Outdoor Shaver” 💈🇬🇧🪒👍
I like it!
Hi Ash

No damage at all, it was protected by the surrounding trees. A few trees came down in the woods, but nothing drastic.
@TheChapsGuide good to hear.
