I saw the Neal Morse band last night. I sat in the front row of a 500-seat theater. Mike Portnoy was probably 15 feet away from me. He is a true professional. He's an incredible drummer and a great showman. It's obvious this man loves what he'd doing.
This is insane. It is impossible how much energy they put into their playing; you can sense so much joy here. I saw them live in Munich, it was just as awesome.
Son tremendos los fui a ver pero me dio la pálida y no me acuerdo de nada, fue terrible el despertar al día siguiente. Estoy esperando una segunda con ansias
An extra line is added to the bridge, sung by Ted Leonard: "Sweet for the tongue and a feast for the eyes, but under her cloak hides a beast in disguise."
This is amazing. Much better than the studio version, and I liked the studio version! Transatlantic always sounds better on live albums, though, and this is no exception. Will definitely be picking this up. Also lol, description says "Blakck As The Sky"
@@YtseJam214 Transatlantic and Dream Theater are the only bands that I would say are better live. I know I might get some hate for mentioning Dream Theater but I love them despite the drummer change.
I had the pleasure of seeing them live that tour in Brazil, it was simply magical! (I also lost a meet and greet with them I had won off a radio draw, and can't ever forgive myself for having missed that.)
Not the first time I have listened to this, but watching this live version and seeing them all with all that energy brought a smile to my face. Most excellent!
THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!! The PERFECT sound of raw footage!! If it's touched up at all (I mean other than mixing/mastering/that kind of stuff), at least I'm not hearing it, this sounds freaking amazing!!!!
I had the opportunity to experience this show live in Buenos Aires with my brother and a friend. The best show I ever witness in my entire life. Technically without equal. Maybe it's tied with Paul McCartney live in my country. But one of a kind experience.
I've looked at the many comments below and not one refers to the subject matter of the lyrics, which, by the way, is very similar to Dream Theater's Rite of Passage. I find that very disconcerting.
Daniel Gildenlow had to skip the tour due to ill health. They planned to use Ted Leonard to fill in at the shows in NA but he had to sing in Europe also.

+Mauro Ranieri Because of the camera operators: there is nice set-up of cameras, colds and operated, and I believe the editor has done what he/she can....if camerawork with proper handling and composition is lost there is hard times in post production...
Am I the only one Who thinks: "at the end of the day yo'll be fine" instead of "at the end of the day they say there is no way out" when Roine sings that line?
Tim Mazzola You're right, Tim. He IS SB's new singer and he is GREAT!! Their first with him was "Brief Nocturnes and Dreamless Sleep" (a dbl CD special) and ALL tracks are EXCELLENT! They're about to release their 2nd one with Ted called "The Oblivion Particle" and, everything I've heard measures up!!
+Zack Gordon Because he's not a full member, just someone to pad out the lineup for touring purposes. Same with Daniel Gildenlow, when he was a support member. Support members in Transatlantic certainly don't go without things to do, though. Daniel was sometimes playing multiple instruments at the same time, just to keep up with the band. Quite often, the support guys are the real stars!
Zack, if you are familiar with Spock's Beard you should know Neal Morse (keys on this tune) is THE founder of Spock's Beard and his brother Al is still the guitarist for Spock's
Roine Stolt, Mike Portnoy, Pete Trewavas and Neal Morse are all great in their own way and together they are absolutely incredible. In my opinion, it is impossible to highlight someone out of this line-up
Keyboardist of the Enid, Robert John Godfrey compared this to confort food in a negative way (The Enid is a fantastic band by the way, their album from 2012 Invicta is the most unique album of the decade) Transatlantic is good fun but its heavely driven of old prog Chliches (That is what i generally dont like about most modern symphonic prog) and i find the arrangents to be rather lacking. Dont get me wrong i have a lot of respect for every musicians in this band. But i like Roine much better with the flower kings and Neal morse in Neal Morse band. No offence intended. Anyways feel free to share your oppinion with me.
That is kinda the point of this project though. All of them play more unique progressive music in their own bands, but they came together for some pure 70s symphonic prog love. And yes, that's not for everybody and I am not a huge fan of most bands doing that either, but with these guys you can feel it's simply their tribute to that kind of music. And the passion and pure joy just drips of of this, it makes it just too good to not listen to! Especially live!
Those keyboards are drilling through my head, and they stressed me out, I had to turn it off.... are electric keyboards actually considered an instrument?
Mr mike portnoy, fit in every kind of music, ages, and ears.

Abusolutely!
This is insane. It is impossible how much energy they put into their playing; you can sense so much joy here. I saw them live in Munich, it was just as awesome.
Oh man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ted Leonard Kicked it - what a great vocalist! The entire song is beyond awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me and a friend here on Valdivia, Chile are a great great fans of Transatlantic, long live to great prog ;)
The show in Santiago was AMAZING!!! a Big hug from Chile guys!!
Son tremendos los fui a ver pero me dio la pálida y no me acuerdo de nada, fue terrible el despertar al día siguiente. Estoy esperando una segunda con ansias
Emerson, Like, and Palmer are smoking nervously in the corner.
Bravo guys!
An extra line is added to the bridge, sung by Ted Leonard: "Sweet for the tongue and a feast for the eyes,
but under her cloak hides a beast in disguise."
Thought that was a new line.
I am here for all of them! Great musicans and persons! :)
Yes, you can tell that they all love the music and are playing and having fun. That is what takes good musicians
and makes them great!
This is amazing. Much better than the studio version, and I liked the studio version! Transatlantic always sounds better on live albums, though, and this is no exception. Will definitely be picking this up.
Also lol, description says "Blakck As The Sky"
Yeah I have a hard time getting into most of TA's material until I see it performed live, that's usually when I'm able to make connection with it.
Michael Fougere They're the only band I can think of about which I can say their best album is a live album (Live in Europe)
@@YtseJam214 Transatlantic and Dream Theater are the only bands that I would say are better live. I know I might get some hate for mentioning Dream Theater but I love them despite the drummer change.

Talent beyond imaginable.

Ahh the way Roine sings this is just perfect
Awesome, looking forward to this release, their concerts films never disappoint.

Holy shit this is a banger!
La élite de la élite
OMG...omg...oh my...
Now that Daniel Gildenlow has a recorded voice part in the album they go with Ted Leonard for the DVD?
Weird, but awesome nonetheless.
Daniel Gildenlow had to skip the tour due to ill health. They planned to use Ted Leonard to fill in at the shows in NA but he had to sing in Europe also.
By the way, Ted later joined Spock's Beard.
He had a flesh eating bacteria infection that nearly killed him, you can hear about it on the Passing Light Of Day album
OHHH YEAHH!
Pedazo de rola.
ELP!
...with electric guitar...
Hey Neal Emerson, Lake & Powell, just a bit :) But you are great any way.

Like a fool with blinders on
You view this world as ruled by kings
But what if they're puppets like you and I
And the world belongs to a few?
As they soon hit the peak, the top of a pyramid
They find themselves embracing the darkness
Sworn to silence
And the world is "in order" anew
Defining their ways right into your homes
With the old wicked lies
A game for the few - They tell who will live
They tell who will die
At the heart of their home
It's black as the sky
At the end of the day they say there is no way out
No peace in sight - none leaves alive
The world is on fire
And the weapon wrangler he thrives
Can you tell who they are?
Ready to follow trails?
Go follow the money
It'll lead you right, right to the darkest pit
And a rage over all that's denied
Defining their ways right into your homes
With the old wicked lies
A game for the few - They tell who will live
They tell who will die
You pray for some justice, but no one can hear
So you look to the skies
Are you one of the puppets?
Black as the sky
Looking up at the skyline
Towering blocks and shards of glass
Catch your eye
Bright as the stars on a dark moonless night
Black as the sky in the broad daylight
It's the end of the road
Here the darkness unfolds
Keep your eye on the light
And hold your head high
They're finding their way into your homes
But their face is unseen
Their heart is unknown
Defining their ways right into your homes
In the absence of light
A game for the few - They tell who will live
They tell who will die
You pray for some justice, but no one can hear
So you look to the skies
Are you one of the puppets?
Black as the sky

Who is on the Keyboard? (not talking about Neal Morse)
Ted Leonard. He helped out during the tour
Oh, ok. Thanks!
That's fucking good
Am I the only one Who thinks: "at the end of the day yo'll be fine" instead of "at the end of the day they say there is no way out" when Roine sings that line?
When all these guys were still children!!!.......
Why does Roine have a fret that doesn't go straight down the fretboard??
Probably to improve the intonation of the guitar.
The 70's

That intro is trying so hard to be Yes, and failing lol.
I always thought they were trying to copy something from an old Gradius or Raiden game.
