Still the best band nobody ever heard of. This should still be on the radio every day, but I never ever heard any of the stations play them here in Norway.
Every fan of really good music has probably thought about this: why is there so much junk on the radio, irrelevant junk, but nobody knows about these delicacies? I think it's a bit like fast food, not everyone wants to go to a fine restaurant, many are satisfied with low level. But many have never tried the good stuff, even though they might have a taste for it? I don't know. You often have to listen to good music, you only gradually discover all the fine nuances. Maybe those of us who have spotted it should be happy that we get to experience it ;-)
Exactly the reason why they're not mega famous. Their music doesn't fit the general radio agenda. Most of the songs are long, with long intros. Pink Floyd reached fame cause it was different times, they were not buried under easy listening music hyperproduction of 21st century
no only in Norway bro, here in US also but is not something bad is just because the same steven wilson says that his music is not for radio, this is not ordinary music, is not for radio, use youtube music or spotify but not radio stuff. Like organic food or a good quality in something, are not for here and there, all this things have their right place to be happenning.
@@RyclaArieviloFripp has great taste, so does everyone who appreciates this. Also interesting how many virtuoso bands like these, like rock drummers with a chunky meaty sound (besides being nimble), who are very different to Bill Bruford. Also Alan White comes to mind.
@@xomkong Well, a lot of drum goats out there...in fact, many consider Steve Gadd as the greatest of all time, or Buddy Rich. Gavin Harrison is a technically complete player who makes great musical decisions. He takes very good songs to another level and you can use his playing to dial your metrome. A deep pocket player! Always great sounding!
SW's just the best, hands down: PT, solo, IEM & No-Man side projects, his productions on new & classic albums, his podcasts & his book too. He has nearly 100K more followers on YT than PT does. I see that PT gains 1K followers every week or 2 so the love is spreading.
The Rockpalast has hosted an unbelievable amount of legendary musical acts throughout the years. Porcupine Tree was a love at first sight kind of deals.
I is always great pleasure to me listening to this fantastic band. Their music is like telling stories, not expressable in words. True progressive rock.
Thanks For uploading this ONE!
Such an exceptional - and FULL performance ♫ My uncles took me there at the age of 13 for my first live concert ever, but I never found the whole gig! Muchas gracias por la subida!!
Blimey, I remember driving down to cologne with my company car to see these guys. I remember the WDR TV cameras being huge! That was my favourite concert of that year.
Uffff; ¡Que CONCIERTAZO! 💫🍷
Porcupine Tree - utterly amazing! great songs - my first time hearing 'em and love them. Porcupine Tree - why are they not playing at sold out massive stadiums? 20 thousand seat venues and up? Porcupine Tree - Much better than the bands churning out forgettable music these days.
When they reunited a couple of years ago and played for 15 thousand people in Santiago de Chile I remember telling my friends "finally! justice at last!!!"
I love Porcupine tree more that I can say. What a superb Band
My favorite band of all time finally surpassing the almighty Pink Floyd. PT has an ineffable quality about them like a universe unto itself.
i just discovered these guys this year. i feel like i've been living under a rock.
I wish I could discover these guys today again haha
Found them last summer from my drum teacher cause of Gavin. My new favorite band
Welcome to the party. Best band in the last 20 years.
@@FACEL1FT Found them last century, cool band 😄 Saw Gavin with both PT and Crimson, an absolute monster of a drummer!!!
I discovered them back in 2009, and I'm STILL uncovering new (to me) material! BTW: this tour - Deadwing, 2005-06 - far and away their best. EVER.

Thanks for uploading this masterpiece my friend, great setlist... Flawless performance as usual
If you're in a band, and your bass player isn't as chilled out and relaxed as Colin Edwin here, you're doing sth wrong ;-)
This version of open car is so much better than the album. That breakdown gives the song more meat
Great addition to an already great song
It's still intact in the demo version that you can find on Deadwing Remaster if you want non-live version.
Gavin ❤
