King Crimson and Pineapple Thief drummer Gavin Harrison is the current drums god.
@@RyclaArieviloFripp has great taste, so does everyone who appreciates this. Also interesting how many virtuoso bands like these, like rock drummers with a chunky meaty sound (besides being nimble), who are very different to Bill Bruford. Also Alan White comes to mind.
This is an excellent recording! Brings me back to when I was first getting to know this spectacular band. I saw them on this tour.

Still the best band nobody ever heard of. This should still be on the radio every day, but I never ever heard any of the stations play them here in Norway.
Every fan of really good music has probably thought about this: why is there so much junk on the radio, irrelevant junk, but nobody knows about these delicacies? I think it's a bit like fast food, not everyone wants to go to a fine restaurant, many are satisfied with low level. But many have never tried the good stuff, even though they might have a taste for it? I don't know. You often have to listen to good music, you only gradually discover all the fine nuances. Maybe those of us who have spotted it should be happy that we get to experience it ;-)
Exactly the reason why they're not mega famous. Their music doesn't fit the general radio agenda. Most of the songs are long, with long intros. Pink Floyd reached fame cause it was different times, they were not buried under easy listening music hyperproduction of 21st century

no only in Norway bro, here in US also but is not something bad is just because the same steven wilson says that his music is not for radio, this is not ordinary music, is not for radio, use youtube music or spotify but not radio stuff.

The Rockpalast has hosted an unbelievable amount of legendary musical acts throughout the years. Porcupine Tree was a love at first sight kind of deals.
If you're in a band, and your bass player isn't as chilled out and relaxed as Colin Edwin here, you're doing sth wrong ;-)

@@omgkong777 Well, a lot of drum goats out there...in fact, many consider Steve Gadd as the greatest of all time, or Buddy Rich. Gavin Harrison is a techically complete player who makes great musical decisions. The takes very good songs to another level and you can use his playing to dial your metrome. A deep pocket player! Always great sounding!

Great band, clear why Robert Fripp grabbed this drummer for the touring version of King Crimson.
My only complaint is, those vocals, at least the BV’s have been “replaced” with overdubbed studio vocals. No live performance band playing at this volume and energy sings BV’s that sound that studio like.

Great band. Lightbulb sun, Stupid dream and Deadwing are masterpieces. When I thought there was nothing else to listen to, I discovered Porcupine Tree. But nothing compares to Dream Theater.

@@rizkyjelang4737 I tried Opeth, and I like Damnation, but some other albums, like Blackwater park, specially the songs with gutural voice, are difficult... I think gutural voices are disgusting.

I saw them a year ago Sept. I always admired how well mixed they were in all the live clips have seen. Well, the soundboard man sucked. Too much drum and bass that ruined the whole thing.
I wish I could have been at this concert.

I like these guys and their music. However, Bands like this with such ambitious music can be a challenge for Sound Engineers to dial in the live sound (and budget). For whatever reason, their sound on this particular show, the one they are filming naturally is overly compressed and "muddy" sounding I think. But not so bad to be a complete loss. I'd say the biggest issue with their overall sound has to do with the drummer, and the way the cymbals sound.

Those of us who don’t want to just bang our heads, and listen to some of the best of what music can and should be disagree with you. Oh, and by the way, the talent exhibited by each individual in this band is unparalleled. You can bang your head to other things!
