This is the Audi RS e-tron GT review! One of the fastest EVs on the market and I also think, one of the most beautiful cars out there. The RS e-tron GT produces 598 hp and 810 Nm of torque! The declared 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) is 3.3 seconds but the RS e-tron GT is actually faster than that!

Here in my village I know two companies (insurance, roofer) who used to drive Audi e trons. They have both switched to ICE and PHEV. The e tron was too heavy , did not match the range requirements and needed a lot of more charging than they had expected. Additionally they had severe problems with the AUDI software.

You’ll soon see the sonorous internal combustion engine as a beautiful if antiquated memory. Nostalgia. But it won’t be out of reach, as the demand for nostalgia remains. But the shriek of an electric motor at very high rpm’s has a charm all its own. Very similar to F1 cars today. If you like that sound, you’ll like the sound of equally sporting EV motors also. They literally SHRIEK, and my little Traxxis 1/10 scale Rally car sounds just like an F1 car. That little “toy” is what converted me to the realization that EV propulsion is not just a little bit better at moving things, it’s not even a close contest. 90+% compared to 25% is not a contest. And ICE manufacturers have spent 120 years and trillions of dollars desperately trying to get even 1% at a time out if ICE efficiency. In times past, a 5% increase in efficiency was headline news for enthusiasts and engineers alike. Meanwhile, electric motors have been more than 85% efficient for all of those same years, without any R&D, no money spent, not even a moment in time needed. Does that sound like a competition? No. It’s not even close. When your competition scores 3 or more points for your every one, with a tiny fraction of the time or money invested, it’s not a contest. It’s an exercise in futility. ICE use over the last 120 years will soon be seen for what it has been. An exercise in ALL of the deadly sins, compounded. To call the use of fossil fuels for propulsion as the most compelling act of evil in all of human history will soon be seen as an understatement. Consider, for a moment, the wars fought over oil, and note that many of them have yet to be recognized as actually having been over oil, often disguised as being about some other more noble cause , such as democracy. Take heed. Remember my words. What has been written , will be done.

Also, I loved how you spoke about the reasons why people buy cars and making a great case for the electric, politics aside. I can never afford that car, but if I won the lottery, I’d buy this one because… after you slowed down you were still saying shit as in “…this shitty road….”. Thank you Anna. First time seeing your videos and I enjoyed your presentation and energy. It helped alter my view on EV. Philosophically, I have not been a fan of EV, especially the way it is being forced upon us but I like the looks of the E-tron GT and Taycan (my brother just bought a used Taycan). I would appreciate your insights. Currently, I drive a 2021/22 BMW M550i whose lease ends this December. It has good balance of power, luxury and technology at an affordable price although not the most beautiful or unique looking cars. I have spent months trying to select a car and have yet to do so trying to find the full package that I can afford. I am looking to find a stylish car with 4 seats that has very good performance, luxury and technology. Comfortably, I can afford leasing a $100K USD car and under the right circumstances, I could maybe stretch to $130K - 150K with the help of a great deal. Although I do not need full M level or RS performance, I like those cars because they have the more aggressive styling and details. I have been considering various models from BMW (850i/M8 Gran Coupe, i5 M60, X6 M60i), Audi (S7/RS7 or RS e-tron GT) and to lesser extent MB (E53). I welcome your perspective and any suggestions on cars that I could consider. Thanks and Blessings. David

Hello Anna….well you nailed the video with your excellent and thoughtful review of what I think is the best EV of them all although the very latest Taycan will be an interesting companion. Here in the U.K. they are of course, super expensive but we have a confused market so depreciation is very high indeed. As a private buyer, a used 2/3000 mile cars is more sensible as it typically saves £25/30,000 which is crazy but means the idea can work. We have EV haters and EV fanatics…Facebook has them in unlimited numbers but I am torn….your video and many others show me why I want one…loads of ICE engines are just not much good at all and currently nobody is going to miss a three cylinder Citroen or Ingenium engine…they work…but in comparison, this Audi is on another planet..and price point. Anna…I think we need an E- Tron GT Estate ….that has practicality and make it just a bit higher than the saloon…trim some width and keep all of the rest…now THAT would be a special car!! Stay safe 😃😃😃😃😃😃

Well done Anna knocking 0.3 seconds off the claimed acceleration figure with a 3 seconds dead. You clearly and deservedly enjoyed that a lot. That's close to fast motor bike acceleration in a car! Some toasters have a soul, well I think mine does as it has a mechanical clockwork timer and you have to manually eject the bread. Dualit anyone? As for charging above 90% I would stop charging, I have no desire to milk a bull, that you mention, safety first everyone. Storage space with the rear seats up isn't exactly class leading but at least you can store that bottle of bull milk in the front storage. I do like the car a lot although I'm unlikely going to be able to justify or afford one but I'd love to drive one. A terrific car that could be the perfect enthusiast car as long as you're not the knob you mention, we've all seen them. As usual a brilliantly produced and edited video Anna. Many thanks for sharing.

Test drove when buying the i4 M50, even worse depreciation than the Taycan, which is a lot. (Found RS to be even more overpriced than the Taycan, which surprised me)
Definitely won't be buying another EV anytime soon (selling my m50 for an M2 or M240)
Edit: I do like the EV experience, though miss the gears, revs, engine/exhaust feel and notes. Also EV's are still too heavy for my liking. But again love my m50, it just isn't the car for me. Not too mention the depreciation on EV's is insane.

Well, it's rather hard to beat the M2 or M240. No sorry. It's very very hard to do that ;-) EVs work well in cities, for people who want a quiet relaxing ride.

Anna, I’ve never heard you curse, nor nearly “achieve”. What has gotten into you? Oh. It’s electric. And there you go. Soon enough, the naysayers will be laughed at as were the small minded who famously claimed, “that horseless carriage will never replace the horse”. Indeed, nothing can replace the horse, which will ALWAYS be cherished and have its place. So will the internal combustion engine. But as far as how the horse was employed, the electric motor will replace the internal combustion engine with a similarly striking and incomparable contrast. Could a horse pull 4000lbs at 70mph over 400 miles using only 120 pounds of “fuel”?
No. Can an internal combustion engine use 90% of its fuel as energy to do the actual work required of it? No, an ICE is lucky to break. 30%, while an electric motor is more like 85%+. Not even close. A propulsion system usually employs a rotating assembly to provide the rotational force upon round objects which upon revolution of said round object, some distance is covered while moving a load, and this action is known as work done. At what rotational speeds, in revolutions per minute, does an ICE operate best? Well, at zero rpm, it does nothing. At 100rpm, a steam engine can operate, and at 500rpms, a diesel engine can operate, but both have a relatively narrow operating RPM range, and we ‘ll generously give that window a range of 10,000 rpm’s, which is only seen by F1 engines. Meanwhile, the electric motor has a range from zero rpms, up to an rpm only limited by the centrifugal forces created by that rotation, and the strength of the parts contained within to resist destruction from such forces. We’ll conservatively call that window, 50,000RPMs. At what rpms does each make usable power? For ICE we’ll narrow that window to about 4000 rpms. With electric motors that window stays wide open at. 50,000rpms. Are we starting to see the design, packaging, efficiency, operation, expense, and maintenance advantages of EV power? If not, look no further than the conveyance which carries by FAR the most weight the greatest distances over land. The locomotive. How is it powered? They have all been hybrids for about two decades, meaning they use electric motors for 100% of propulsion, and highly refined and efficient diesel engines as generators of electrical power. Why? Because it isn’t just better, it’s better by maybe 100 times over. Hearing Anna curse and become hyper-exhilarated like that reminded me of how people still don’t grasp HOW MUCH BETTER EVs are. It’s not an opinion. It’s not even a contest. The only metric where EVs fall short is with onboard energy density, where diesel fuel still reigns supreme. But once batteries surpass the power to weight ratio of diesel fuel, the diesel fueled vehicles will become museum pieces.

I and Toyota share the same belief regarding these electric vehicles and this is that they will not be dominant in the future. This is also why Toyota continues to develop fuel engines. As I have said before, these electric vehicles are not the least bit environmentally friendly and now it is starting to be realized that these are less environmentally friendly than diesel cars. Right now people are buying these battery cars (in Sweden, however, sales have decreased sharply), When people have to change the batteries in the cars and realize how expensive it is. A few years ago, a Finn was shocked to hear that it would cost him $20,000 to replace the batteries on his Tesla, so he blew it up. Recently I saw on UA-cam how someone in England had to change the batteries on his Porsche Taycan and it would cost him £40,000, the price will probably end up like that on this Audi RS e-tron GT or even more, the day it comes change. So the future lies more in synthetic environmentally friendly fuel than Battery cars. This is for the following reasons: The cost of replacing the batteries, the many hours it takes to fully charge the batteries, fast charging shortens the life of the batteries. (a car with synthetic fuel only takes a minute or so to refuel and considering the increasingly stressed time we have, you don't have time to wait for an electric car to be charged, the extra cost that is added because the tires have a shorter lifespan. Since the the shorter range a charge lasts in cold weather and how electric vehicle users have to turn off the headlights and turn off the heat to try to get the charge to last longer. The cold snap that hit southern Sweden forced car commuters who have electric vehicles to rent diesel cars to avoid standing around or to freeze in their vehicles. So there you are probably wrong just like the bought EU politicians in Brussels, who are bought from the battery manufacturers. Think of the people who have died/injured in accidents to build Northvolt's battery factory in Skellefteå.

So many manufacturers have already stated that by 2035 or sooner everything they produce will be electric. The only gas car you will be able to buy in 10yrs is a used one. The future is knocking at your door and the past is gone.

@@991carreras3 Now you are wrong about the manufacturers, they have NOT said that 2035 is the last year, but it is the politicians in Brussels who have decided on this. These politicians are bought by the battery manufacturers and then the politicians pump billions (rated in Swedish currency) into North Volt now. These politicians have not listened at all to the warnings that professors have warned about and that is that there is only a limited amount of the substances (can't name them) available to make these batteries. What do you do the day you run out of these subjects? You will see that in the future they will be forced to change you. At the same time, all these politicians are lying to us ordinary people, because I ask you to go to a trade show with only the military vehicles of the future. Then you will see that all new and future military vehicles are still powered by diesel engines. I am in the military and know what it is like with today's and future vehicles. It is not on the map that these vehicles would be powered by batteries.

Hi Ingvar, small electric cars seem to make sense in cities, they might not be the most environmentally friendly (only time will tell!) but they do not produce tailpipe emissions. If you look at cities like London, NYC, Bangkok, Shangai etc. these cities are living murders when it comes to air quality. Not to mention the noise. So EVs would really change this. BUT, the emissions are not disappearing, they are being transferred elsewhere. So the goal, in my opinion, is to reduce the amount of those solutions.
Sweden, Norway etc. - I think EVs are a little crazy in those countries. The freezing temperatures deteriorate batteries so much faster unless they come up with solid-state batteries, it's just not working out. But again, this subject has been politicised so much, it is difficult to know facts, what is the real story.

I'd say, only time will tell. Once we start running out of electricity, they will be singing a different song. But only time will tell ;-) @@991carreras3

@@AnnaOnRoads Anna these battery vehicles are not as environmentally friendly as people and you seem to think. Certainly no emissions, but you destroy nature when you have to first clear away forests and then dig for the substances needed to manufacture these batteries. In their wake, they leave great damage in nature that will never be restored. It is to destroy the environment but then in a different way. Then several geological experts have said, but the politicians in Brussels do not listen to nor within the UN, that there is no amount of substances to manufacture the batteries with. What is more destroyed in nature than those who advocate electric vehicles, is all the forest that has been cleared from Sweden to Finland and towards Norway, in order to be able to replace several miles of power lines in order to be able to secure the electricity supply until, among other things, charging all electric vehicles. Its forest being cleared looks like great highways of felled trees, nor is it good when the forest that supplies us with oxygen disappears forever. Anna that I wrote to a guy in response to what I see that has been in the military but that ordinary civilians don't get to see. Is at these military fairs with new military vehicles from light to heavy tanks that will be present now and in the future, is that none of these are electric but all new vehicles are powered by diesel engines and it will always be like that. Then why should you listen to politicians who are bribed/bought by the battery car manufacturers that their product is the best and the EU is pumping billions in. You will see that there will come a day when the EU is forced to accept synthetic fuel. Since it is no longer possible to build new batteries because the substances for this have run out. At the same time, the spent batteries have become environmental criminals, and they are already today. As you cannot take care of these batteries, they are piled up outside.
