great info! thanks for this. for complex stages with more depth in them i want to previsualise my visuals in 3D space. if i recreate the stage like this in blender and import it in Unity, i can play my mapped visuals in realtime in 3D by applying a videotexture to the object spouted from resolume
Hey Scaredyfish, Resolume doesnt really have a way to uuse UV maps. This is more for 3d rendering and use in media servers and for pre vis applications.

Hi Techniart, The way I would do it, is to have it all in one Blender project and use a separate material to match each output. This way you can import the whole model into Unreal (or your media server or visualiser) and assign an output/source to each material. I find it more useful to model the whole stage in a single blender file... However you can also just do it as 2 projects if that makes it easier to manage.
it was the only way to make a 3d mapping for projector back in 2010 but why bother now? resolume, d3, arkaos, hyppotizer and tons of other media server software will do it on a fly for even less than 1/3 duration of this video sorry dude
Yes you are correct, many media server now handle this directly in in much simpler format. This is aimed more at setting up surfaces for pre viz and media servers and also to use video surface in real-time rendering systems like Unreal, Notch and Smode. A lot of pre viz suites still require uv mapped geometry or only offer very basic/in accurate controls over mapping video to surfaces. It is still the preferred way for getting an accurate pre viz in D3 as far as I am aware.

This is very useful info. How do I use this UV map in Resolume? Is there a way to import this to create input slices?
