@@TheTacticalRPGOdyssey probably not. Or maybe they just know the song from KH but don't know who sings it. Either way, it's a shame it wasn't pointed out by more people.
stares off: A Tactical RPG Odyssey has really become a Twin Peaks focused content creator… Mr. C in an astronaut suit holds gun to head: always has been
Sam Lake predicted the future, he is in the dark place now, where time works differently and operates in loops. So somehow he know/knew/will know what will happen/happened in season 3 because of Alan getting out? Or was it because of Mr Door? 🤔
Add to this based on Alan Wake 2, the "cult of the tree" symbol is just a reoganization of the "two parallel triangles" symbol for twin peaks (see for example, David Frosts book, "Secret History of Twin Peaks", on the book spine). And while you mentioned the use of the word "lodge", I think you missed the most obvious parallel which is that the black lodge in Twin Peaks is a direct counterpart to the "dark place" in Bright Falls (in the sense there's a "threshold" [Alan Wake 2 terminology] you can enter to traverse from our reality to the other). Either way, great job. Finally, another work with strong influences to Alan Wake is "In the Mouth of Madness" by John Carpenter, where a writer's horror stories begin to become reality. At this point I feel like Sam Lake ripped off a ton of story concepts for his work... it goes beyond just appreciation, to blatantly lifting ideas wholesale.
Six hours into my Alan Wake II playthrough lol. Might need to make a follow-up vid for sure just based on The Return playing such a vital role in the narrative, clearly. All artists steal but Sam Lake is like the Girl Talk of horror narratives lol!
I could barley get though Alan Wake 2 because of this. It really shows you what talent is. The writing is atrocious. The game is so boring. The New York sections are like torture. The first game was way better when it was more quirky references and trying to mimic a tone rather than straight up steals. To make it even worse, he’s taken it way too seriously and it has become pretentious instead of earnest.
I think the term mirrored is wrong here and a little pretentious. In the tv show and film, it mirrors itself many times. Alan Wake just references Twin Peaks and takes some of its ideas. It reminds me of the character of Charlie from The Return
Please cite the definition of mirror you think I'm using incorrectly because I love to learn! And I'm pretty sure I echo your exact sentiments about Alan Wake's Twin Peaks-ness only being skin deep in the first few minutes of the video.
Lmfao the Utada at the beginning🤌🏼
Finally someone appreciates it! Not too much crossover between Wake fans and KH fans I guess lol.

Lol! Your regularly scheduled Tactical RPGs will be returning soon, depending on how Alan Wake 2 goes that is...
In a divers suit you mean ;)
Great video! However twin peaks season 3 was released in 2017 so this season could not have been referenced. Otherwise, nice work

Now Pat Maine is even more Dr Amp, poor Pat...

What really is creamed corn?
I ask myself that question every day. 🤔
