@@JustSumGuy01 I believe that was the S.D. Perry novel adaptation. From what I recall, instead of a VP70, Leon has a Desert Eagle in .50AE and gathered a shit ton of ammo from the Kendo gun shop and then later gets the shotgun. Claire has the Browning Hi-Power and later gets the VP70 from Chief Irons. I think that's how it went in the book.

Leon wasn't issued the matilda as his standard police pistol. It was his first day on the job and he doesn't get his police gear until he is at the RPD. The matilda was his personal side arm that he carried for self defense. the browning HP is the RPD's standard handgun.

I can't wait to see the look on his face when he sees it and we're not all zombies." "Me too!"
Clear this one for me, he got a stock or a mag in his desk? Did he get the stock in RE2 for the PS1 and they changed it to the extended mag in the RE2 remake?
0:30 So the SG-09R is named such because in the original release it was called the SG-09. The "R" stands for "Remake", a little thing the game devs did for the classic Silver Ghost.
Just to let Zach know, the Kendo who custom made Leon's SG-09R is Robert Kendo's brother who also decided to become a Gunsmith.... maybe it's a Family thing
Yeah it's Joseph Kendo's, the one who made all the other Kendo Custom pistols. ie The Samurai Edges that the RPD Star teams use in RE 1-3. He has his own shop in San Fran.
The VP70 was Leon's personal handgun. As to why the RPD let him use his own gun, i have no idea, but the fact he was being gifted an upgrade shows that he had permission and the chief knew
@@JJRodriguez there were 3 upgrades found throughout the department, implying Leon was basically getting a gift basket for his personal gun on his first day.
One thing a lot of people don't know, is Leon was never meant to be a regular patrolman type cop. He was trained to be a member of the RPD Select Police Force, Created to replace the now disbanded S.T.A.R.S. He wasn't a regular cop, he was a Police Special Forces Officer, and was given advanced firearms and hand-to-hand training. Technically the SPF was basically just SWAT (but then basically so was STARS) and was created by Irons to fail (hence why you only see Leon wearing the special uniform, cause the rest were sent to the most dangerous places to die) but it makes sense he would be given special treatment, cause he wasn't just a regular cop.
2:56 The kendo you're probably thinking of is robert kendo (the gun shop owner of RE2/3) its expressed in the remake lore that he was just the salesman and his brother joseph kendo was the designer. he even has a book on self defense (which Ethan has in his RE8 house inside the cluttered room.)
Yeah, Robert was a great salesman, but wasn't super great at gun smithing, unlike his brother who is a wizard with firearms construction & modification.
@@StorMRagE4EVA I'm wondering if that ended up being Barry's Colt Anaconda (Silver Serpent custom) that he had in RE1 remake they later made his canon gun
One thing to keep in mind if you see something obviously switched around in a model is that because Japan has really strict and weird copyright laws, they will tend to do tiny and noticeable changes just in case(which is why the names may reference the originals, but never be exactly that).
Usually if you see something wrong and could be described as "marginal-but-obvious" it's to avoid licensing and copyright issues. Doubly so if other aspects of the material have clearly had a lot of work put into them.
39:40 I'd also like to mention the general profile of the gun is based off of a gun in the game, y'know Killer7, where Kaede Smith's gun is an M1911 with a massive sniper scope on it. During the Original RE4 however it was replaced with a laser sight because all guns needed a laser sight due to that being your crosshair. I really like Killer7, I had to bring it up.
35:41 you’re actually right about the guns being modeled after airsoft guns. In all the resident evil games, as far as I know, Capcom credits Tokyo Marui for providing airsoft replicas for reference
@Iffem oh I know, I know. Brandon Herrera made a replica and it performed a rapid kinetic disassembly on the first shot, so he had to remake it. I was merely making a poor taste joke about a gun, for all the minute differences and varying degrees of complexity, is simply propellant, toob, and projectile. Where there is a will, there is a way, and ideas can't be regulated.
15:00 on this, The Matilda is actually Leon’s personal firearm if I’m remembering correctly, since he was told to stay away from the rc police department he never got whatever the issued pistol was so he brought his own.
2:54 You're referring to Robert Kendo. He has a brother named Joseph Kendo, who is still very much alive. In fact, Joseph Kendo is the one that designs the guns. He made the Samurai Edge for S.T.A.R.S. and the Silver Ghost for Leon. 14:58 I believe in the RE2 remake, it's established that the Matilda is Leon's personal pistol. Not his standard issue police sidearm. And yeah, the standard issue RPD sidearm is supposed to be the Browning Hi-Power. Don't know why that one officer in the RE3 remake has a Glock 19 though. Maybe the RPD allows some officers to request a different firearm as their standard issue. Some of the weapons are reused assets from the previous games as well. The Matilda, the W-870, the Riot Gun, the LE 5, the CQBR, and any other gun that I happen to miss. Those guns are from the RE2 and RE3 remake.
"Don't know why that one officer in the RE3 remake has a Glock 19 though." Maybe it was during some weird transition period wherein some officers are given Glocks instead their standard Browning Hi-Powers. I dunno I'm trying to think of a reason to justify that one oversight
@@potetobloke4731 I still don't understand why they make Jill drop her Samurai Edge and use the bitch glock. Glock is a good gun don't get me wrong but the damn gun is getting overuse now. Every gun enthusiasts know what samurai edge is. What a waste of a remake.
@Poteto Bloke it can be a plethora of reasons, and any of them can make sense. Even big budget LE agencies have their weird transition periods and oddities if you look into their histories far enough. In my headcanon, the Brownings were clapped out, and they were transitioning to Glocks like most LE agencies would have still in the late 1990s.
IIRC Police Officers, at least in the past, were allowed to carry their own personal sidearm instead of the standard issue if they were given permission Just as Leon might've planned to carry his Matilda instead of a Browning Hi-Power, that Cop in RE3R might've asked and been given permission to carry a Glock 19
I recall reading the they were transitioning to the beretta 92fs around the time of the outbreak, maybe they were shopping around to see what worked best for the department.
@@Zach_Hazard Of course not. The pump really is only for specific circumstances. The M3 is meant to shoot semi all the time, which is why I'm glad we didn't need to "upgrade" it in RE4 Remake
The VP-70 is Leon’s own personal handgun. In resident evil 2 the standard issue pistol for the Raccoon city police department was the browning hi power, however in 3 you can get the Glock 19 as your starting gun off of a police officer, so maybe the RPD was trying to replace the hi power with the Glock 19 or it was that officers carry weapon. Also the W in W-870 most likely stands for Wing Master, based off of the Remington 870 Wing Master.
Poor Zach always so hard on himself, no videos he makes are ever "take too long". Also loved this video very much, it's always so neat seeing all the little differences that were made and why, as well as just Zach's wholesome excitement and glee
And in case you wanted to know, the Killer7 pistols name is also a reference to the game Killer7 itself. Kaede uses the gun that you showed off in the game.
25:51 This is nitpicky, and this may be what you meant, but Leon only hip fires it if you don't have the stock attached. You have footage of him using the stock and properly aiming it earlier in that video chapter.
Hey Zach, I belive that 1903 might be modeled after the sniper versions. They were built and issued with the irons removed and a scope mount bridging the reciever. All they appeared to do for the game version was replace the optic specific mount for a picatinny rail. And if the rifle is shooting actual M2 ball(or equivalent spec), a .308 Acog reticle would be close enough in calibration to work.
Only issue with that... Is that the box for the rifle ammo is a 5.56 NATO ammo box. It fires 5.56... unless we're intended to discount that info, it's likely chambered in 5.56
@@Zach_Hazard A good place for Resident Evil gun knowledge is the Kendo Gun Shop channel. They do autistic level gun breakdowns so I think you'd dig the vibe.
@@ISOCATOalso the M3 counts because the early M3s with barrel mounted rifle sights like the one in the game were imported by HK Imports, like the rest of the Super 90 series of Benelli guns before Benelli USA was an entity
It is kinda cool how RE games often don't go for the most common guns to include in their games so sometimes you get stuff like VP70 which I don't think I have seen in anything else than in Aliens.
I'm not sure if you're gonna read this, but you have no idea how much I love these videos. I'm from Costa Rica, so guns aren't a thing here. However, watching you explain them in such detail is always super entertaining and genuinely interesting to me. You truly have a knack and charisma for this that others just don't have. Keep being you, Zach.
16:35 so I did a tad of digging on the Remington 870. There's a few models with different names, and one of them is the 870 Wingmaster. Maybe that's why they called it the W-870? It's the closest hunch I got, anyway.
The reason the red 9 in the remake does less damage overall is because it lacks the of red dot, The game will give a big increase in crit chance if you let your reticle focus, but with any weapon with the red dot equipped it automatically gets 100% accuracy and the crit chance bonus on each shot, so if you could put it onto the Red it would turn into sniper 9
It also just does less damage in general. The exclusive upgrade for the Red9 only brings it up to 4.05 (Blacktail maxes out a 3.6, where the original Red9 with exclusive brought it up to 6.5. Fully upgraded, it was exactly half the power of a stock Broken Butterfly.) I feel it was such a braindead pick in the original game that when they tried to balance the handguns out, they way over corrected on the Red9. It's already a hit that you can't put the laser sight on it, and the precision is on the poor side too. Just seems like they didn't leave enough meat on the Red9 to let it be the powerhouse the Remake wants to claim it is
@@DrWolfensteinz Well I chop up the idea of the red 9 not being able to have a laser dot in the remake is more or less because it was probably owned by someone in the village who got it and never tuned it up like leon will do through the merchant while in the original it was a gun that was modified by the merchant that you bought exclusively from the merchant. It would make sense that the merchant had modified it to make it stronger and precise with the laser dot than a standard red 9 like in the remake.
15:02 I don't remember where, but OG RE2 actually addresses the fact that the VP70 is Leon's personal carry gun, which Raccoon City PD officers are allowed to use in service. The standard issue firearm is the Hi-Power as you said, which Claire finds in the glovebox of the patrol car in the intro of OG RE2 - kinda neat attention to detail, especially for 1998. The item description even mentions that the VP70 is an "unconventional" gun. So yeah, Leon confirmed gun nerd/dumbass.
I'd love to hear Zach's thoughts on the ammo choices in this and the original game. The "magnum" ammo in the remake is .45 ACP, the shotgun shells in the original were labelled as sabot slugs, and the smg ammo in the remake is also 9mm like the pistol ammo, just to name some things I found funny.
About the Kendo engraving, there's actually two Kendo brothers, Robert and Joseph Kendo. Robert is the one you meet in Raccoon City, Joseph was out of town during the events of RE2-3, but you find a fax he sent to the STARS office in the original RE3 about the Samurai Edge version of the M92FS.
The reason for the cutouts on the foregrip of the TMP is that it was modeled after a VERY early model of grip for the B&T MP9, which never made it into full production. As far as I know, there are none in existence anymore, and the only evidence I've found that they ever existed are a few pictures of early models of MP9 from old gun magazines.
I love listening to these kinds of videos, its always neat to see how close some in-game weapons are to their IRL counterparts. As for guns i used, being as boring as i am, i used the Silver Ghost, Riot Shotgun, Stingray, and the Terminator Magnum.
I just had this thought as a theory. I wonder if the CQBR and LE5 you find are Krauser's. Especially the CQBR. Maybe his old military rifle? Just a theory, probably not correct but, would be cool. Granted, dunno why he'd hide it in a wall in the dwarf's castle, but it'd hardly be the most weird thing in RE4.
I knew that Leon and Matilda thing was from a movie, but actually hearing that it’s called Leon “The Professional”, I’m over here dying like “yeah right, playing on standard😒” lol
I think it would be cool if the gun we found at the castle, in this game being the M4, was the G36, the regular one, because that is probably the assault rifle you would find in Spain
My in universe reason for the Silver Ghosts serial number was that Leon kept pointing the barrel right at his face every time he read the serial number where it was originally placed. Also, i dont care if he dies. Kendos ghost survivors level is canon in my heart.
Yeah Robert is too badass to died. Dude handing out his gun to help racoon citizens, respected gun enthusiasts, Barry's best friend. Hope Capcom Canon his survival and has him and Joesph make ultimate gun.
The C96 is my favorite handgun. It’s so cool! iirc it was the first commercially successful semi auto handgun (since the borchardt c-93 didn’t do so well). Also, there was a magazine variant created in called the Schnellfeuer M170 which had a magazine well and the ability to fire in full auto. There’s also a carbine version called the m1917 Mauser trench carbine with a longer barrel and front grip (meant to be used with the stock), 40 round magazine, and full auto. It was supposed to be a replacement for the Luger carbine, but was deemed too expensive and wasn’t made en masse. It’s a badass gun and I hope I’m able to shoot one some day! I have 2 models of the C96, a crappy plastic dart shooter I got at a yard sale and plan to convert into a DL-44 (Han solo’s blaster) and a really nice metal replica, which is hollow but has a functioning slide, hammer, and trigger. I kinda wish I got the one with the stock, but oh well. It is a gorgeous pistol and I wish it wasn’t so fucking expensive (cursory googling I did a few years ago put $15,000 as the LOW end of prices for them)
Oh hey, that's my shotgun at 17:12! I recognize the wear on the barrel from the aftermarket bayonet lug I run sometimes for giggles. That photo was one I took for a review I wrote years back. Neat. In addition to the issues you mentioned, that "870" also has no slide release, and the shell carrier seems to be either too high or completely absent. And that ejection port is entirely too squared-off. The 870's ejection port is very distinctively rounded-off at each end. Actually, that squared-off ejection port kinda makes it look more like one of the S&W 3000 copies than an actual Remington 870 (although all the other issues still stand).
Zach you've taught me so much about things I really love.(and been the spark of many research rabbit holes) You're worth learning from because you recognize your mistakes and correct them, teaching yourself and us something in the process. That's something I really admire that about you and I try to do that more and more every day
the VP70 was adopted as a handgun for colonial marine officers (and I think WY executive types) as well as a modified futuristic version being the default handgun for the 2010 AVP game and a sidegrade pistol for aliens: colonial marines
So a couple things to note about the usp they have. 1- in freecam shots you can see the sg-09 uses a metal magazine with ribs similar to the 45cal mag or a uspc/p30 mag 2- while it seems like it would work on the surface the attachment of the compensator is actually pretty bad and would lead to premature frame cracking due to a screw vertically compromising the polymer frame at its structurally weakest spot, in addition the downward force of the expelling gases on the port of the comp onto that screw connection point would eventually lead to a catastrophic shearing of the polymer. Now you can see this was done as a creative license on the idea of the match weights that are commercially available to hk pistols that attach to the rail, but since their connection is laterally across the rail surfaces the polymer frame is able to absorb the downward forces imparted on them across a greater surface area. Now the change in weight dynamics in the front end of the frame will usually lead to a slowing of the cycling action of the slide due to geometry changes interacting with the recoil spring assembly. While with light usage with the right loads this is not a problem especially to a design as overbuilt as the usp, the better method would actually be to use the tactical model's threaded barrel and attach a comp directly to the barrel. In this instance a standard usp recoil spring assembly would be adequate as the comp would reduce the stress on the recoil spring unlike a suppressor which does require the tactical model rsa to run suppressed. 3- after closely looking at my gameplay and cutscenes the usp muzzle flips far more than it should for a compensated 9mm. My theory is that very early on they played with the idea of making the usp a 45 and then changed it back to 9mm and never bothered to remodel the magazine back to a polymer mag or change the muzzle flip animation to something flatter more fitting a compensated 9mm. Overall the guys at Capcom did a great job tweaking the usp design most likely not even having access to a live fire version most likely only using airsoft replicas for reference
The villagers removed the safety on the Wemington 870 because they wanted to shoot animals that just wander into their homes (Disclaimer, I have no idea what I'm talking about)
You actually can remove an 870's safety button, and the gun will work fine. But there'll be a pretty obvious hole left behind in the guard behind the trigger.
13:50 My face when I see the editor make a mistake. You needed to beat the game to unlock the Matilda in the original RE4, not the remake. So many other small things I want to point out, like the Browning Hi-Power being RPD's standard issue gun (at least at some point) in the original RE2, and updated in that remake. I am kinda glad that the wide spread of the striker is not the great thing it was in the original, where you floored crowds with a single blast. It's real advantage is the smaller space it takes up. Also pretty sure the Royal Armory talked about how the TMP is meant to be hip fired in their bit on RE4 guns.
so, at one point, Zack, you ask about the VP70 being RPD issued. It's not. It's Leon's personal pistol. Standard RPD issued pistols are Browning Hi-Powers. The Glock 19 from RE3 seems to have also been that fallen officer's personal pistol, because any and all officers ever shown in the franchise seem to carry the Browning.
They allow you to use a scope, so the player has another option against regenerators. They drop smg and sniper ammo in the room with the 4 regenerators. Though it’s not very effective unless you burst fire accurately.
YES ! YES ! YES ! YES ! Thank you Zach for gracing us of your marvelous voice on a topic that joins two awesome hobbies. Resident evil and guns. Hope you enjoyed making it as much as I enjoyed watching it. Btw, my loadout was the USP (cause it rules), Benelli M3 and HK SL8.
3:13 Kendo actually has a brother that is also a gunsmith that was out of town during the racoon city incident, he even submitted a design for the stars handgun but they picked the samurai edge instead of his design

there was two Kendo's. Joseph and Robert. Joe is the gun smith who made the silver ghost, And also the STARS's custom Beretta 92s, and Barry's .44 magnum. and some other guns in RE I haven't mentioned or didn't know of. Robert or Bob Kendo. He is more like the salesmen and the supplier to the RPD and STARS. And he is the one who runs the store in Racoon city... where you do meat him in RE2, And wire he met his fate. ether getting eaten by Zombie's, or just lost hope and opted out... fore lack of a better term.
In the original RE4 the Red 9's laser is mounted with a pair of small screw tightened hose clamps. Throw a piece of rubber on it to prevent scuffing the barrel or shifting around and its honestly not a bad improvised mount.

My gun was the ONLY one during the whole 24 hours of shooting in that class that DIDNT JAM. DIDNT MISFIRE. DIDNT FAIL TO CYCLE. DIDNT STOVEPIPE. And the safety never hindered my ability to put rounds on target. Suck it glockers. The XD is a perfectly good gun. Cope harder.
2:55 to explain the kendo thing, there’s 2 kendo’s in RE lore, Joseph and Robert. The one who made all of the samurai edge berettas and the SG is Joseph, the one is RE2/3 is Robert. I think the only weapon Robert made for the original STARS team was Barry’s revolver.
Just wanted to say about the Matilda (VP70), the reason Leon has it in RE2 is because it's his personal handgun, not issued by the RPD. You were also right about both handguns issued by the RPD, you can find a Browning Hi-Power as Claire in RE2 and a Glock from a dead cop in RE3.
3:11 I wondered the same thing about kendo like was it his brother or somthing like that since he technically dies in raccoon, and to add for the hell of it for more stuff that is annoying and doesn't make since. the new remakes are supposed to connect the games stories better filling the holes in the lore. WELL in the re2 remakes cannon A/B scenarios Clair is given Leon's knife by marvin, but in the beginning of re4 the knifes description and leons flashback about marvin in the intro of the game follow the original re2. where Leon gets the knife not Clair that's an inconsistency.
15:01 He wasn't issued the VP70, it was his own personally purchased firearm, still doesn't make sense that the PD would let him use his own handgun, but, late 90's were just different times
2:58 well technically Kendo is a surname, and the person who died in raccoon was Robert, although supposedly his brother, Joseph, is still alive and IS the one who made this pistol (if i recall Joseph is also mentioned in re village in the Winters' house in a book Ethan bought for self defense, he's credited as the author i believe)
6:25 A funny thing is that in the VR version of RE4, if you look inside the Punisher magazine, you can see the correctly modeled 5.7x28mm rounds instead of 9mm. I felt that was a neat little touch from Armature.
Leon's VP70 was his personal firearm that he stick with due more experience and ammo capacity than RCPD's Browning High Power. That, or since this was his first (and last) day as police officer, he still wasn't issued one from the armoury. Also, his uniform is the RCPD winter uniform, and all other POs are in their summer uniforms.
2:55 Robert Kendo is dead and was only the shop owner, his brother Joseph Kendo was the gunsmith who made the Samurai Edges and the Silver Ghost (which was the result of him declining to build Leon a Samurai Edge as he wanted to make a custom gun exclusively for him), being known for his heavy gun modifications for sale to law enforcement. He was not in Raccoon City at the time of the incident and I think there might have been has a note from him in the main REmake 2 story mentioning the Samurai Edges (or at the very least in Ghost Survivors). He also published a book call "Gun Survivor: Heavy Weapons Edition".
2:56 There are two Kendo brothers. Joseph Kendo is still alive. Robert Kendo perished in RE2/3. Both are gunsmiths. The Samurai Edge (the STARS standard pistol) was made by Joseph.

One thing to keep in mind if you see something obviously switched around in a model is that because Japan has really strict and weird copyright laws, they will tend to do tiny and noticeable changes just in case(which is why the names may reference the originals, but never be exactly that).

Sadly in the remake the killer 7 logo isn't engraved on the slide, loses a bit of the charm.
I don't think it was a M1911 i think it was a gun that had the same frame but was chambered in .45 mag not .45 regular.
35:41 you’re actually right about the guns being modeled after airsoft guns. In all the resident evil games, as far as I know, Capcom credits Tokyo Marui for providing airsoft replicas for reference
yeah, japan's gun laws are SUPER strict

I was merely making a poor taste joke about a gun, for all the minute differences and varying degrees of complexity, is simply propellant, toob, and projectile. Where there is a will, there is a way, and ideas can't be regulated.
Tokyo Marui also made a few airsoft versions of RE guns, such as the albert samurai edge which was available for a limited time.
"Don't know why that one officer in the RE3 remake has a Glock 19 though."
Maybe it was during some weird transition period wherein some officers are given Glocks instead their standard Browning Hi-Powers.
IIRC Police Officers, at least in the past, were allowed to carry their own personal sidearm instead of the standard issue if they were given permission
Just as Leon might've planned to carry his Matilda instead of a Browning Hi-Power, that Cop in RE3R might've asked and been given permission to carry a Glock 19
I recall reading the they were transitioning to the beretta 92fs around the time of the outbreak, maybe they were shopping around to see what worked best for the department.
I think the inventory description in RE 2 Remake even points out that the VP70 has some issues that prevented it from becoming widely adopted.

16:35 so I did a tad of digging on the Remington 870. There's a few models with different names, and one of them is the 870 Wingmaster. Maybe that's why they called it the W-870? It's the closest hunch I got, anyway.
The reason the red 9 in the remake does less damage overall is because it lacks the of red dot,
The game will give a big increase in crit chance if you let your reticle focus,
but with any weapon with the red dot equipped it automatically gets 100% accuracy and the crit chance bonus on each shot,
so if you could put it onto the Red it would turn into sniper 9
It also just does less damage in general. The exclusive upgrade for the Red9 only brings it up to 4.05 (Blacktail maxes out a 3.6, where the original Red9 with exclusive brought it up to 6.5. Fully upgraded, it was exactly half the power of a stock Broken Butterfly.)
I feel it was such a braindead pick in the original game that when they tried to balance the handguns out, they way over corrected on the Red9.
Robert is the one you meet in Raccoon City, Joseph was out of town during the events of RE2-3, but you find a fax he sent to the STARS office in the original RE3 about the Samurai Edge version of the M92FS.
the "w" in "w-870" is probably in reference to the wingmaster
0:36 The R may stand for rail. As such with the Sig P229R (rail) DAK (Double action kellerman trigger)

I just had this thought as a theory. I wonder if the CQBR and LE5 you find are Krauser's. Especially the CQBR. Maybe his old military rifle? Just a theory, probably not correct but, would be cool.
Thanks for the video Zach. I like it when you rant about guns, it helps me learn and gives me more of a reason to become a gunsmith
the VP70 was adopted as a handgun for colonial marine officers (and I think WY executive types) as well as a modified futuristic version being the default handgun for the 2010 AVP game and a sidegrade pistol for aliens: colonial marines
So a couple things to note about the usp they have.
1- in freecam shots you can see the sg-09 uses a metal magazine with ribs similar to the 45cal mag or a uspc/p30 mag
2- while it seems like it would work on the surface the attachment of the compensator is actually pretty bad and would lead to premature frame cracking due to a screw vertically compromising the polymer frame at its structurally weakest spot, in addition the downward force of the expelling gases on the port of the comp onto that screw connection point would eventually lead to a catastrophic shearing of the polymer.

What if that cop had a NEW standard weapon? Leon's RPD armor is actually a new issue - they were probably trying to outfit their cops with better gear
This made my day. And it hasn't even started! Thank's Zack!

The entire Internet when Zach makes a gun rants that doesn't involve Fallout
They smoothed the sight on the MP5 so you can attach a rifle scope, which is weird because people don't use smgs for long range
They allow you to use a scope, so the player has another option against regenerators. They drop smg and sniper ammo in the room with the 4 regenerators. Though it’s not very effective unless you burst fire accurately.

BTW, in terms of the Lore, there's still ONE of the Kendo brothers still alive. The one in Raccoon City is one of three, if I'm not mistaken.
Dude, zach. Amazing work my dude. Love this vid!
Yes, it's Robert Kendo's brother that made Leon's SG since Leon tried to save his Robert in re2. I believe his name is Joseph Kendo
15:01
He wasn't issued the VP70, it was his own personally purchased firearm, still doesn't make sense that the PD would let him use his own handgun, but, late 90's were just different times
2:58 well technically Kendo is a surname, and the person who died in raccoon was Robert, although supposedly his brother, Joseph, is still alive and IS the one who made this pistol
(if i recall Joseph is also mentioned in re village in the Winters' house in a book Ethan bought for self defense, he's credited as the author i believe)
Zach: wishes the usp had actual pic rails
Me: glances at 3d printer and cad software
6:25 A funny thing is that in the VR version of RE4, if you look inside the Punisher magazine, you can see the correctly modeled 5.7x28mm rounds instead of 9mm. I felt that was a neat little touch from Armature.
28:50 there was a variant of the m1903 that had no iron sights. It was specifically for use with an optic
Back when I worked at a local gun shop we had two SL8's in stock with consecutive serial numbers. I really miss that job, but I gotta feed my cat.
Kendo’s brother custom made the handgun for Leon. His name is Joe. He even wrote a book you can find in 7
Leon's VP70 was his personal firearm that he stick with due more experience and ammo capacity than RCPD's Browning High Power.
That, or since this was his first (and last) day as police officer, he still wasn't issued one from the armoury. Also, his uniform is the RCPD winter uniform, and all other POs are in their summer uniforms.
Zach likes the XD9... finally someone on the internet not shaming me for owning a XD9

I can unironically listen to such info for hours so keep going my dude!
2:56 There are two Kendo brothers. Joseph Kendo is still alive. Robert Kendo perished in RE2/3.
Both are gunsmiths. The Samurai Edge (the STARS standard pistol) was made by Joseph.
