Oh, yay! What a lovely surprise for a Thursday! I’ve chopped my hair off too. It’s definitely cooler.. but yeah.. having to ‘do’ my hair.. sigh. I’ve bought some head bands. 😂 So good to see you! 😁 My aunt just bought me Kate Davies Hap book! I love seeing that shawl up close and personal and seeing how big and wrappy it is. 💚
When i do a toe up sock, i use Sheena's Stretchy Bind Off i really like it. It's on UA-cam. It was so nice to see you again and all of your beautiful projects!! I just finished a child-size Dandelion Cardigan for a granddaughter. And also a pair of Film Reel Socks for myself. Fun pattern! Thanks for sharing! Take care!

You and I are doing a similar thing! I am making the Solar T and a T shirt style top, the first in a linen mix and the other in cotton, for just the same reason as you! Just like you, I suddenly realised that I could wear light weight knitted pieces all year round. I have a draw full of winter weight sweaters already, so these are a great addition. I have also been wearing a couple of really light weight tops all summer. They are great things to knit and wear.
Hi Becky, the way to make the rib not flare out on your toe up sock is to do a knit row for the last row and then cast off in knit. Haven't done it myself but watch someone who always does it and swears by it. Sure it will work.
Hi Becky. Loved all your makes. Especially the shawl. Love your colour choices and the autumnal feel is so cosy. I’m almost finished the Habitation Throw which is full of seasonal colours. It’s been a year long project so itching to cast on new things 😊
Spinning on my wool fleece, don't know the breed it was free, using it as my learning spin. Just started in June, took a while to sort, wash, flick and card the fleece, totally loved it. Then started spinning on a borrowed Ashford traditional, lots of thick and thin and swearing. Now just got my e-spinner 3 days ago, totally loving it. I can see improvement in the air. I'm already thinking of what to make with this very textured rustic arty yarn. I love the felix cardigan or sweater. Love the hair.

First of all I love your hair. I am keeping mine shorter as well. As hot as it has been in South Carolina it is so much cooler to wear. Currently teaching myself how to spin on a supported spindle and finally getting the hang of it. Your visits are always a special treat. Take care.
I prefer to knit socks toe up and I use this cast off. Not sure if it has a specific name. Work two stitches, slip them back onto the left needle, knit them together tbl. Work the next stitch, slip the two stitches on the right hand needle back to the left, knit them together tbl. Etc, etc.
Hello, newby here also from south coast, Dorset. Just having a rummage trying to add a few more podcasts to my list especially of Uk and, dare I say, slightly older casters. Love all you have there. I also have a Spin city spindle I bought at Ally Pally many years ago and I’ve never figured out how to use it properly. As I’m a bit of a felt artist I have plenty of tops so should perhaps persevere! I’ve just started the Galanta which comes in a sweater and vest version. I’m using Ard Thur a Kate Davies Aran in the Glamaig colourway. It’s a lovely pattern, perhaps give it a look. 😊

What a delight to see you here this evening Becky. Love your hair. It looks super. I had mine chopped and love the shorter length ( even shorter than yours 🤭). I am knitting poppies for a display. A local church asked for some and I made 20 - but am now knitting more. During the day I am knitting my daughter a tank top with cable down the front. The back and front are done in sand stitch and it’s looking good. Chunky wool so a quick knit. Have a good weekend and see you next month.🧶
