It's probably due to health and safety reasons, since kids are so much more lively than adults, falling other with a piercing could cause some considerable damage if unlucky.

At our school they’re so strict with uniform,piercings, hair, make up shoes, etc but how can they set us those rules when their teachers are allowed to have luminous pink hair, multiple pearcings in each ear, short af skirts: dresses and piles of make up on... I can’t stand hypocrites and how is any of the above going to affect our learning and education?? All they care about is how we look..

Our school has no uniform your allowed as many piercings as you want you can dye your hair as much as possible and wear as bright things as you want the only thing is that you can’t wear crop tops or really short skirts all shorts

As a person who used to go to a school similar to Brit, I want to say first hand that it was not her ability that made her not get in, it’s her maturity. There were SO many people like this at my audition, extremely talented (most of them better than me lol) and none of them got in. Because you only get so much time on your vocational work, the teachers do not have time to be dealing with people messing around to the extent that Tawny did. You may not think it, but when deciding on if you should get a place, teachers look at your references and grades much closer than you might think, and if there’s anything really recent that doesn’t look good, your chances of getting offered a place get very slim. At this age, they’re not even looking for crazy amazing talent, just a desire to learn, which she doesn’t look like she had when this was recorded. I genuinely feel bad for her, as I can tell that she has a lot of potential if she just stops being so full of herself and thinking she’s better than everyone else. On the other hand, I could tell immediately why her friend got in ,she’s got a bubbly personality without being annoying or arrogant. I really hope Tawny continued with her performing, as I can see she’s got a special quality about herself!!❤️

@ nope.. no it isn’t dumb!! There ARE people that have it worse. Of course someone’s own personal experiences are valid, and it doesn’t make their feelings any less real. What they feel, is what they feel. I understand that. However sometimes it is important to bring yourself back to reality and think a bit more realistic and rational. There ARE people that have it worse. People unconsciously put peoples issues in a hierarchy anyway. Like, for example, I’m sure you could agree that someone suffering with cancer is a lot worse than someone having a headache. People weigh out the options of things all the time. there are people that DO have it worse. That is just the truth. No point sugarcoating it. It’s just true.

if i’m being honest i can see straight through her, and as a teenage girl myself it’s so clear that her confidence is a front which reading the comments it quite unfortunate to see everyone saying she seems rude, cocky etc when realistically she’s probably a lot quieter and potentially just a self conscious teen trying to find herself

I thought Tawny was rude and ultimately Alice deserved it more than her. It's clear Tawny is talented but to make it in the world of an actress or a singer, you have to be likeable, and Tawny is not making herself out to be very likeable.
She wasn't talented, her voice was crap. She couldn't do the acting either.

I'm not at all surprised Tawny didn't get into the BRIT School. Even if she has the talent, she definitely doesn't have a suitable attitude or personality; she doesn't have the sense of self-discipline that such prestigious schools would usually expect in their students, not to mention she seems very rude and arrogant. If she got in, she wouldn't last if she carried on how she was.
How could she get into the Brit drama School anyway? When she hasn't even done her GCSEs yet?

There was ALWAYS someone who wanted to be famous in every year. By doing singing/acting and most of them actually had no talent.
Ik majority of the girls I know either dunno what they want to do or want to be an actress (except for my one friend who wants to live in a basement and play Minecraft).

I just see it as the teacher giving the honest and fair reference that she'll be required to give. The BRIT school would want to know things about Tawny like her attitude to learning, her ability to follow rules, any incidents that could reflect poorly etc.
So really the teacher isn't trying to jeopardise at all, she's just being honest.
That's only my opinion though

She was totally right about the dress code though, it has no impact on learning if you have a pricing or not
I do agree but I suppose it's a thing where if they allow an exception for one person then they'll have to allow it for everyone else and then soon it'll be onto the next dress code rule being challenged.
Also, I think there might be a health and safety element to it too.
Guarantee that you'll get someone complain so best to just follow the rules and wait until you leave school to be getting piercings, tattoos and dying your hair every colour of the rainbow
