I heard that every night my stepfather came into my room from the age of 4 until I was almost 8, when my mother caught him for the ump-tenth thousand time, and the cops told her that if she did not leave him this time she was going to prison also.

So many children leave their parent in a home and never return. I've seen it more times than not. Or the child/ren leave the parent in the state they put them in one and move away.😢😢
Being a care giver for a parent is hard work. Your life is put on hold during the days, the night s usually yours, but it truly is hard work. They’re like children, you worry about them constantly.
Yeesh, people don't understand how badly burned that mans hands were, looked like nearly full coverage 2nd degree burns. Some how he managed to not only stand, be conscious, and look like he was in no pain at all, he expertly cared for his daughter. That man is some kind of beyond superhuman for that.
I think I fell in love with everyone on this episode, seeing how caring Dane was with his dad Maurice, and how much Daisy and her dad loved one and other, seeing how loving the staff is, there’s nothing better than a staff that works well together and has appreciation for each other. Even Hectors mum was so considerate of the other patients, and how she defended Hectors honor, worrying that something might happen to his as a result of the bite.
What an absolute gem Daisy’s dad is. I’m 65 years old, and still wish I had had a dad in my life. That is a hole in the heart that never gets filled. She will never have to feel that way. His love for her really touched my heart.
In the middle of his pain, he attends to his daughter. That’s a super hero, he’s doing what most dads can’t. Many dads checkout and leave it to someone else. 💜
How is it possible to work in pediatrics and not get your heart broken beyond repair seeing all the kids in pain... Massive respect for Damien. He must have been in insane pain with those injuries and likely not even painkillers taken, yet he stayed calm and reassuring for his girl. What an amazing dad.
The bond that father has with his daughter is something incredibly special and something I wish everyone had. I wish my kids had that I wish I had that
I love daisy and her dad. So sweet. The porter and dr playing in the snow made me laugh. Im glad they took a minute to refresh themselves.. makes them better able to help patients.
What a wonderful bond these fathers have with their children... Damian and Daisy are amazing! And Maurice and Dane... they have such a strong, wonderful bond. You can see the love when Dane talk about his dad.
Love Daisy and her father. “Never thought I would be a father, figured there had to be a mad woman out there to do the other part of the deal.” Someone who waits to be a parent sometimes with age appreciate it more, then one so gifted so early. Not that both aren’t precious but sometimes anticipation makes the deal sweeter. Daddy’s girl and momma’s boys are precious. ❤😊 opposites as well, all children are precious. And if all children took care of their parents as some did here the world would be a better place. Some cultures are far better then we are . Usually the saying is a “son is a son till he takes a wife. A daughter is a daughter for all of her life.” Beautiful to see when others break the molds of love. Love always win when we let it. ❤
The cat bit lady was hysterical. What a comedian. Cats mouths are full of bactetia n nothing to mess with. Daisy is amazing n her dad deserves father of the year. Her fries torn my heart out.😢😢😢

People should be kind to their parents as Dane was to his father. So horrible to put the elderly out of your lives. We loved and appreciated our mother. She was born in 1921, smart, beautiful and talented. She passed away at 91 years and I still miss her.
Both of my parents died in their 70’s. Being a care giver is hard work but rewarding. You find out a lot of their funny quirks 😂. We had a large family, nine kids, therefore we had plenty of people to,help out when mom went into a home after breaking her hip and getting dementia. She couldn’t live alone therefore went into a home. She loved her nurses and we made sure there was someone, as in family, with her at all times!
Yes. My Mother too, 1921. She passed at 87yrs old. I miss her every day. They lived through a WW & The Depression, but still created the "Wonder Years" for us, huh?
Dad and son. Please ask care home to arrange for your Dad a hearing test. He needs hearing aids. It will help combat his dementia as he will be able to hear and join in conversations.
Came here to say Exactly this. Elders who become socially isolated by untreated hearing loss are at a higher risk of depression, dementia, and can end up being inappropriately medicated which makes them into fall risks as well.
Hearing daisy’s cry made me cry. That had to be terrifying and painful even with having a great supporting staff and her dad right there. She is only 5. I can’t imagine going through that.Bless her. I agree with her dad seeing her on fire would haunt me for the rest of my life too!
Daisies dad is a special man! Dane and his dad are amazing people too. My dad has dementia and it's hard to watch them at times. The porter and doctor were heart warming!
One of my cats stepped on the back of my hand as she lept off the bed. Emergency room tried tablet antibiotics, but they didn’t work. I went back to ER later that day and ended up spending 3 days in hospital hooked up to IV antibiotics and a morphine drip. Doctor told me that since there is so little fat on the back of the hand, the infection was able to spread much further and faster.
Hands on Dad. He's done the hard work for years , showing up to talk to her and take care of her. Parenting is a hard slog. My Dad is 85, has unoperable cancer and dementia. She solved the problem by getting overalls for the little girls in her area, so their dresses wouldn't catch fire anymore.
"You know what happens when things are bad? Daddy's here." If only every little girl could hear that from her father.
