Benjamin Puljak So because I have this as my profile picture, I can’t have emotions? I chose this as my profile picture so people know what my channel focuses on but that doesn’t define who I am.
Priceless words.. Choose good people, control emotions, care about parents. Thank you Sir Jackie, blessed to briefly meet to you on Monaco GP 10y. ago.
Severely underappreciated legend from my home town. Its sad because people will only start to appreciate him as one of the greatest after he passes away...
This is unfortunately true. Some people will only bother to learn more about these living legends once they pass away and finally begin to appreciate them.
It's easy to get emotional, for most people anyway. To be honest, I do wish we had more of that in F1 today; remember Rossi vs Biaggi in MotoGP back in the early 2000s? ;)
@heliumtrophy Definitely! I believe that he could have created that 5 sec gap in Canada but he basically threw away the race with his constant complaining.
I'm from Brazil and I've watched many interviews of Emerson Fittipaldi. He always have words of praise for Jack Stewart, telling how he was fast and competitive with a clean drive, not putting other drivers in risk, a pure artist on the track and a special human being.
Spoken as it should, by a man who earned the right to speak it. This is what it means to have courage, integrity, and humility. When we speak about a person of character, these are the men who we should mold ourselves and society after.
Legendary driver. He had some very detailed feedback on his series about cars like the '88 March or Lotus car. And he had his mistakes, too: he binned the Jaguar sportscar in the same series.
If he could go back in time, think of all the things he would do: Telling Cevert to keep the car in 4th gear through the Esses. Telling Jim Clark not to race in Hockenheim. Telling Jochen Rindt to keep the wings on. I know it hurts him every day. Knowing that amongst all the great Grand Prix drivers of the 60s, he is the only one left and the few that lived the rest of his life.
This really brings you to tears but builds you up at the same time... such a great, humble person. A true hero, a living legend. He went through so much but never forgot who he is. He's a great inspiration for everyone, not just young drivers. May his soul be blessed with light.
I remember following his career when I was a young lad. In my young mind, I envisioned him as a Craftsman instead of a driver. To see him walking around the Paddock, carrying that signature white helmet with the Tartan image. That may as well been his lunch bucket to me because he was there to do his days work with the pride of a Scotsman. Wise words from a wise man.
"And even more important, the mechanics and engineers that you've got. I'm alive today because of them." This gave me goosebumps. What heroes the people are that were in F1 back then.
Jackie I was so pleased when you retired racing as a fan I just could not bare any one else dying it was horrific and you put so much back into the sport , And of course your a lovely man too :-)
@@josephreynolds2374 he's not going to even make it to Formula 1 I think he'd die in like GP2 of that time if u watch Maldonado's junior series races bah gawd he's a danger to himself and everyone else 😂
This podcast is such a pleasure, from Sir Jackie The Great, who use to race in the greatest era of F'1, before Aero came in, and he used to race againt the greatest legends of F-1 - So every word is like carved in stone!
Sir Jackie Stewart, a belated happy birthday. You got a long way in life, and given your profession you have an awful lot of things to be proud of. Your passion for safety in F1 has been an additional accolade to your fame but most importantly your driving skills made you who we know you for being. A most worthy champion.
...what an amazing video of an amazing man.. Thanks for everything Jackie. The word Legend was never more appropriate. In many ways, you shaped and defined the modern era of F1 more than any other, even Bernie.
Jackie downplays just how good he was. He had 100 F1 races between 65 and 73 (dont forget all the different classes the guys raced then too) Won 27 of them and finished on the podium 43 times in total. Monster numbers.
Minor point, but Stewart only made 99 starts, his last being the Canadian GP in 1973. Stewart's team withdrew from what would have been Stewart's 100th start in response to the death of Cevert.
Powerful as always from Jackie Stewart. A theme that strikes me in this lesson is be humble and respect others and you can never be on a bad footing, above all respect your mother, take note Lewis (I hate my white mother) Hamilton.
"I've lost all my friends" was so heartbreaking ...
666th like from me.
Graham Hill died in a helicopter accident after retiring from F1.
In on of his interviews he was talking about 58 people he was close to who were killed in those years...
Hill actually died in an airplane that he was piloting, and five others died with him.
@@JohnJ-fj2xe Correct. Colin McRae however died in a helicopter crash, with his son and two friends.
I wish Lauda did that too😪 RIP HERO
Btw. great Video, please do more in that way🔝
Leandro how was that the same what I thought immediately and then saw this comment
Maybe, just maybe, they did this and save it on their servers to upload it when the right time has come

Wise idea
RIP Niki Also his 76 rival James Hunt, be interesting to hear his advice to his younger self
“Emotion is the most dangerous thing you can ever have.”
That hit me so hard because of how much I can relate to it.
Yeah mate, i feel you
We all can, in one way or another. I guess that knowledge about life itself is what gives his words so much weight
Benjamin Puljak So because I have this as my profile picture, I can’t have emotions? I chose this as my profile picture so people know what my channel focuses on but that doesn’t define who I am.

Stewart, what a classy driver... He felt so bad when Cevert died
I remember him saying in an interview that he will never get over Cevert's death.
They were the dream team, and Francois was supposed to be Jackie’s successor, he told him everything
Cevert's injury after the crash was just horrible, the most gruesome crash in F1 history
leewat yeah he was cut in a half by the guardrail.. horrible
@leewat
That would be the marshall of the Tom Pryce incident.
Priceless words.. Choose good people, control emotions, care about parents. Thank you Sir Jackie, blessed to briefly meet to you on Monaco GP 10y. ago.
Brought a tear to my eye, during the Goodwood tribute.

Here stands before us a living legend.

This is unfortunately true. Some people will only bother to learn more about these living legends once they pass away and finally begin to appreciate them.
Actually true
Never let your emotions control you. So right drivers make mistakes before of their emotions so that in your common normal life. Wise Sir Steward!
It's easy to get emotional, for most people anyway. To be honest, I do wish we had more of that in F1 today; remember Rossi vs Biaggi in MotoGP back in the early 2000s? ;)
You think Vettel could learn a thing or two from ol' Jackie.
Emotions also can be powerful allies. But he's still right in some way..
@heliumtrophy Definitely! I believe that he could have created that 5 sec gap in Canada but he basically threw away the race with his constant complaining.

Jackie 🥰 Humble as always
Yet, he tells himself to be humble as a kid. Which means he felt he wasn't. Which is an absolute shock to me.
