I was experiencing a charging issue with my dash cam and had tried numerous ways to solve it and after watching your video it turned out to be the charging cable was not fully attached to the camera base. You saved me hours.
I had the 222 camera, and it only records for 15 min after you switch off the car ,luckily the old woman that did a hit and run in the doctors carpark and cased £2140 worth of damage to my truck ,hit me within the 15 min ,so a £69 dash cam saved me a lot of money and it proved she did it for my insurance, I've just bought the 320XR so now my a$$ is covered ,still worth every penny and I hard wired it to my battery with the Nextbase kit ,only problem is the piggy back fuses did not fit my ford Ranger so I had to by an online fuse but that was inly £3 all working and looks great
I have this exact model. My advice would be to check how the camera mounts with the cables attached to it BEFORE you remove the sticky 3M pad and attach it to the windscreen, because you may find that although the camera is neatly concealed behind your rear view mirror, you then find it hard to fit the cable to the camera when it’s attached because it’s too close to the rear view mirror base mount. I got lucky and just about squeezed everything in snugly, but it was touch and go! Everything else about the camera (front and back) was perfectly fine, running it from the 12v socket in my central cubby in a Toyota Corolla estate. I will get it hardwired at my local garage someday but I am not confident messing about with car electrics so I think I will leave it to someone who knows what they’re up to.
Very good channel mate, do you have a how to for fitting to a 2009 Honda jazz? My main concern is routing cable near curtain and pillar airbags, not sure what best method would be and Halfords want £70 to do it. Cheers
Hi, great video. It's very helpful. I have just fitted one to my 17 plate Astra K and I can confirm that the rear camera has NO effect on the DAB. Maybe they have fixed it since the video.
Hi mate,which front rear dash cam is the best to get at the moment?,I noticed you said the rear camera affects the dab radio,is the same for all rear dash cams?
I have this same bundle and my rear camera records but the screen shows up black. No clue how to fix that. Also wondering if the rear camera is supposed to show up on the screen as well as the front camera? Because it does not.
It can be set up to activate on movement, so if your car is collided with whilst you’re away from the vehicle, it automatically creates a protected video from the moment you’re hit, so you should capture the offending vehicle if it doesn’t leave a note. I have this camera.
Can I view the videos on my phone or how do you replay the videos? Can you do this without unplugging and plugging into a laptop? Such as on an app or something?
Yes Nextbase have a phone app to view the footage remotely or you can view the footage on the camera. A pc can be used if you pop the memory card out of the camera for a larger viewing screen.
@@kaylamuniz1424 First make sure your version is compatible with the app and then make sure the camera is up to date by plugging it in to a computer and going on the Nextbase web site for an update.
As long as you clean the glass properly before fitting, it’ll be fine. 3M VHB is what the car manufacturers use to fit parts from the factory and it’s also used to attach panelling to buildings, it’s good stuff.
Mate the instructions for hooking the power into the mount directly and not the camera are absolutely awful like they don't even try to outline that clearly. Goooood luck trying to get that fixed up after you've already mounted it to the windscreen! Any advice for replacing the cabling for yhe rear cam? I've it set up in my Taxi and its basically at the rear view mirror recording the inside of the cab. The absolute unit of cabling is just duct taped to the upholstery on the roof for the meantime! Cheers
The issue with DAB is that it can be interfered with by the camera power lead - the signal travelling through the lead can cause radio interference. A ferro-core (little iron magnetic clamp) fitting around the cable damps down the signal from the camera power cord, making it less like a transmitting antenna and protecting the DAB reception. I have to say though, I fitted my rear camera WITHOUT the ferro core attached and my DAB is totally unaffected. That’s in a Toyota Corolla touring sports.
@@Midnightmenac3 Yes thats true. Check for a firmware update on the Nextbase web site. Plug the camera in to the pc and download any updates for it. If this is a problem return it to the store and see if they do a charged service to do this for you👍🏻

The rear cam shows in a small square inside the main picture. Make sure the rear jack plug is pushed fully in and also the front connector.

You could check the Nextbase web site to see if they sell a short link cable.
How do you view videos recorded by the cam? Basically? What would I do to retrieve the video if I was in an accident?
Eject the micro sd card from the side and pop it in a pc is the best way.

Tap menu button twice to get to settings and. For connection either update the phone or camera to the latest software version.
