The Betazoid "diplomats" who were really undercover intelligence agents were equally affected by T'lyn. Their thinking was as off as Miglemoo attacking the replicator. They, and some of the crew like Freeman and Mariner could sort of cover for it in a high-functioning way but everyone (other than maybe the slam poetry security team. lol) was "off". Also, T''lyn having Bendii syndrome may be a long term issue. If it really is Bendii, it's like Alzhiemer's for vulcans. It's uncurable and inevitably fatal. Although maybe like modern day medicine and dementia they're reaching a point where early detection means it can be controlled to an extent. So her being able to control it once she understood and calmed down makes a sort of sense for some sort of early-onset version of it. I kind of hope they address it going forward and she takes medication or at least some kind of extended meditation to prevent it from progressing. It's the sort of health problem for a character we don't see addressed much, and it's real world equivalent is a serious issue.
I think the line about her age is supposed to lead us to believe it may be something else. With Sarek, he was outwardly emotional whist he was suffering. T'Lyn is still keeping up that Vulcan façade. Though, like you said, that could simply be because it is in it's early stages. I'm sure it will be an important plot point going forward, I can't see them just abandoning it.
Regarding the Betazoids getting off scot free, I feel like you get a free pass for doing stupid shit while under the effects of Bendili syndrome, after all it basically removes all of your impulse control. Dont forget that Tendi Rutherford and a bunch of other officers tried to angry mob Mariner and T'lyn for basically no reason while under its effects.
Bendii Syndrome is really bad whenever a vulcan's emotions are already out-of-whack. Imagine something like the Pon Farr making it even worse. Wait, T'Lyn is a multiple of 7 years... Oh sh-
Well I ship her with Boimler, she´s the perfect calm to his hysteric screaming...and given how she did help him on his first mission on the ringworld, she might just be the right absorber for his chaotic energy, while learning to express her own on the way.
@@SirMarshalHaigI absolutely agree. T’lyn is smart, beautiful, sassy, and has more control over her emotions than 99.9999999% of all females in the galaxy.
As telepathically invasive the Betazoids are it make perfect sense they'd have a psi-ops division after the Dominion war, if they didnt have one already. Dianna would constantly scan people without asking or concern for their personal privacy.. then she'd throw it back in their face.
13:59 You skipped the bit where Mariner says, "I have to rescue my mommy!" I can't believe you skipped that. It was either going to be funny or heartwarming
T`Lynn just brought up Bendii as example how the psi abilities of a Vulcan can affect people around, not that she has this disease. After all an illness doesn´t create a new ability, it only causes it to flare up and hit people with the supressed emotions. T`Lynn is shown to be intuitive when she finds the Pakleds with her sensor mods, she saves her ship with her untested shield mod and she is also empathetic as she helps Boimler and Mariner and is willing to throw the whole report about Orion culture away because it would make Tendi uncomfortable. So I think we should not take away from this episode, that T`Lynn is sick, but that Vulcan mainstream society is dumb and throwing away a great talent, a talent that can florish on the Cerritos.
What if Spock rebuorn on Genesis planet during the ponfarr raped Saavik lead to secret love child T'Lyn was a Vulcan female who lived during the 24th century.

Fair points all around.
Fun fact: those tall purple hourglass-looking things are called yard cups. The restaurant I work at briefly sold a few as part of its anniversary.
Huh. I've never seen those before. Did any Betazoids show up to the anniversary celebration?
@@chattery I wouldn't know. They must have been observing pre-warp observation protocol.
That explains why somebody ordered ‘a yard of anything that glows,’ or something like that.

Oh oh OH
Dear lord. I didn't think this show could get any hornier.
@@chatteryAt least nobody can 'do the Kirk' with Species 8472. They would literally die!

I didn't even realise it was Wendie Malick!
First Chicha, then Eda, now a horny betazoid. She is a gem.
Such an iconic voice.
The moment I heard her voice I had to look it up

I bet if T'Lyn was V'tosh ka'tur, she would be crying her eyes out.

The high command was disbanded in 2154 see the ENT ep Kirshara..... You mean the Vulcan high council
My bad. Yeah I meant the High Council.
Its so weird hearing a vulcan say a human swear word lol
I love the edits recently
Haha. Thanks for noticing.
I agree it made no sense going thru the neutral zone. The betazoids would also die!
Spain just found their next three national football coaches.
Oof

Sorry about that. It's hard to get every joke in when editing because of copyright.
7:23 To me that was a funny moment

They’re not responsible for the attack, they were also affected by T’lyn.

Well that would be pretty grotesque so I don't think they'd do that. It would be quite the payoff for a setup from 40 years ago though.
