- Here we are folks. LOWER DECKS S4 has come to an end. I have to say, this might be my favorite finale we've gotten from this show. An incredibly satisfying conclusion to the mystery that's been building the entire season. Also, we got some fun cameos. Even WESLEY CRUSHER turned up in a flashback. Lots of really great action, which blows my mind considering it's an animated show. It shouldn't work as well as it does. Nick Locarno got what he deserved thanks to good old fashioned Ferengi greed. Boimler got to be captain for like a minute. Tendi is off to be Mistress of the Winter Constellation back on Orion with her sisten Alex Dunphy, I mean, D'Erika. She will be missed, but I can't imagine she'll be gone for long. I don't know how Rutherford can take it. We'll have to wait and see. Until Season 5, my friends.

It’s so tragic that Mariner used to be just like Boimler and Tendi. The Dominion War broke her after the death of Sito already left her vulnerable. And she was so young.
Still, this and “The Inner Fight” definitely gave us a delightful resolution to her series-long character arc. Makes me hopeful that Season 5 will feature her being who she wants to be without losing any of her guile or chaos.
She’s regained her faith in Starfleet’s ideals, while also reaffirming that she’s not afraid to call out its flaws.
The paywall on the bomb just killed me... and him too.

The ship Mariner hijacked is apparently a "Sabrerunner" class, which is meant to be a smaller version of the Steamrunner.
I knew it looked oddly small.
nah its a steamrunner. Steamrunner isnt that big after all.
@@bremer1701 Dude, one of the show's co-producers, who Mike McMahan himself praised for his attention to detail regarding canon, called it a Sabrerunner class. A Star Trek: Picard research assistant who worked with Fabio Passaro called it a Sabrerunner class. The only source calling it a Steamrunner is the audio description track, and that was likely an error.
I was waiting for your reaction to this final ! 3 things :
1. I love how much young Mariner is so much like Boimler in the first episodes, so wide eye and having fun learning new things at the academy ! It's kinda adorable !!
2. Can't believe they brought back Wil Weaton for that episode...he tries to sound younger but it's really hard. It was still pretty good !
3. Season 4 of Lower decks found a way to add to the Orion culture and made it more interesting, that trial by barter was great ! Can't wait to see what will happens to Tendi in season 5 !
When the genesis device goes off, it makes a five-pointed explosion, just like the banned maneuver would have done. And Locarno's name will go down in starfleet history... as a planet. So in some ways, he got everything he wanted. He just had to die to get it. Ironic.
It is indeed ironic.
Makes me wish they hadn't named the planet after him. He doesn't deserve the recognition.
Also, I was so happy to see Boims get to do his command stance while in temporary command. I was hoping for an entire season arc leading up to it like Mariner got, but it was still great to see.
I liked seeing Boims in temporary command I have no doubt he will be a great captain someday.
The captain's yacht has appeared in two other episides, but this is (I think) the first time it's been launched. The younger Rutherford personality tried to steal it but was stunned before he could launch and Freeman was going to use it to try and rescue the other ship in the season 2 finale until Rutherford came up with the plan of removing the hull plating instead.
Oh right. I feel like the captain's yacht was such a throw away thing in Insurrection but now it keeps popping up. I think I read that Voyager had one, but we never saw it.
The Enterprise-D also had a (never seen) captain's yacht, right at the bottom of the saucer.
@chattery yeah, if I remember right Voyager was supposed to have one and they incorporated it into the design of the ship but then never made a model or set for it.
27:25 my feeling is Tendi was assigned as a diplomatic liaison to Orion. That’s what the Admiral meant when he said to Freeman, “I need to speak to you about your Lieutenant.” that or the officer exchange program.
That would also explain why Tendi didn't turn in her combadge before leaving the ship.
Tendi 2 made Tendi promise to come back. They never agreed on for how long.
Good catch. Now that's something for Tendi's sister to think about.

Yes! In one of the previous episodes, one of her classmates made captain and mentioned the What happened to her "reference"! They all thought she would be the first of her class to make captain because she was the BEST or top of her class!! It was GREAT!!

I may have nearly squealed like a small child when I saw the ship she stole was a Steamrunner.
This was all just about Locarno's big, fat ego and his refusal to take responsibility.
My favorite theory I heard was that Tendi was actually undercover in star fleet for some reason and is back on Orion for good. I don't believe it but I like the idea.
Oh god. I hope that's not true, but it would be one hell of a twist.
Could also be the opposite: star fleet may have asked her to be a spy on Orion, now.

I have a feeling that Tendi's sister overseeing those two criminal enterprises saying she can't work with the Fedration right now. Yeah, I bet next season that's going to come back to bite her in some way. Like they'll find out about this whole thing and like I said it will not look good that she messed them over in the deal in regards to that broken Orion ship.

She’ll probably returns in season five is already green lit there still a bunch of stuff to resolve within the series. For instance, Boimlor‘s clone remember season three they faked his death. The odds are that’ll be the part for season five it might be their last season hopefully not, but I’m feeling Tindy’s shut will be back. She’ll probably win against her sister in a bet or something or other hopefully it will get a Greenlight for season six and seven or at least get picked up by Netflix. It’s popular in the truth of the matter. Paramount belongs to C B S. In the CEO of CBS doesn’t like cartoons and doesn’t like Star Trek. They might be willing to sell the whole package. Who knows I’m just happy or what we’re getting and hopefully we’ll get more. Do you agree?
Oh yeah, William Boimler is with Section 31. There's plenty more to wrap up in the seasons to come. Glad Season 5 has already been greenlit. I don't know how well Lower Decks does views wise, but I think the whole Star Trek brand has been pulling great numbers this year. Paramount has always viewed Star Trek as their crown jewel, so I can't imagine them selling the whole IP.
All we can do is hope that holds up Hopefully they got the common sense to let the thing run for a little while longer. You can surely grab the rating at least I believe. Like I said the power of animation, they do a lot with an a show like Star Trek what they have to produce with computer, graphics, green screens, and everything out of the sun. It would be probably even cheaper to do this animation then live action don’t get me wrong live action is good to. It helps boost the technology I mean if it wasn’t for Star Trek who knows with special effects, we would be sitting at right now not to mention you have to think of the actual technology, that we use in our daily life, a king out of the imagination of an engineer artist on the show of Star Trek just the ships alone like the steamer ship. That was freaking cool. Hope you agree.
