Hey man i gotta ask you something...im getting my cs3 soon and i've got some idea but since you have both cs3 and ts9 i wonder can you tell me something...can you get more punchy bass sound using a cs3 and ts9 (im talking about a rhythm playing here not solo)

Why do you have the contour on (which cuts mids) considering cliffs tone is known for its cranked high mids? Not a criticism just a genuine question😂. Also read somewhere that he likes to have his bass fairly low in comparison to his mids and treble. Ig if it sounds good for you then it works, but was just curious as trying to achieve his tone myself.
The contour button helps make distorted notes punch harder (for me) that being said, this is an older video and I'm still trying to find the best dial position to emulate Cliff
His mids came from tube screamer and bass (and wah when soloing) but sure as hell did not have too much mids on the amp(not a honky sound by any means)
It definitely wasn't setup perfectly out of the box, but my Jackson was way worse, in terms of feel, it's not that bad, it's not perfect, but I've picked up basses in music stores that were harder to play than this one
Probably the Morley Fuzz-Wah, it is probably the main component when it comes to getting a sound close to Cliff's. The other stuff is important too, though.

@captainNuggie Interesting fact cliff burton modified a single coil guitar pickup at the bridge of the bass, which is where the foam mute is placed at
I actually heard, that the single coil pickup started fritzing out after ride the lightning, and that's actually why he stopped using the ric.

Hi. Is the fuzz of the Burton signature PWF similar to a big Muff pedal ? Thanks.
No, I have both and the fuzz circuits sound pretty different, but I've heard people get some sick tones with the big muff and a power wash boost

Yes, they are both on all the time. Also scooping mids also helps the notes punch harder, even though Cliff's tone was mid heavy

Too bad no Strat pick-up mounted where the foam mute would be in the bridge assembly (Cliff's secret weapon).

Actually quite the opposite, the body is much heavier than the neck.
