The video I’ve been waiting for! I’m planning a mudroom entryway and was looking for an IKEA hack from an Australian based content creator. O/S creators often use products that aren’t available in Oz. Thank you Reynard! PS. Your voice is very soothing to listen to 😊
so do you feel like the bench you sit on is stable enough to use as a real bench maybe for a dinner table? any way to know a weight limit for sitting on those cabinets? thank you
I‘m so looking forward to your videos to see you decorating your new home as me and my husband moving to our new house in less than 2 months! Greetings from Austria☺️
This reminds me a lot of a storage solution we created in our living room! Now considering doing something similar in our entryway... Do you mind sharing where you got the walnut veneer from? We really struggled to find a good top that also didn't break the bank. Thanks!
Thanks mate, exactly what I was looking for. Your design skills & creativity are on point. I'm in a similar situation and my hallway is almost an identical layout. I'll be taking on his project thanks to your video.
What are cool design channels you'd recommend? I am going down a new rabbit hole haha Highly recommend soft close hinges on all of them, they should be pretty straight forward to swap out! Same with the sliders on the drawers too, I wouldn't be surprised if IKEA themselves carry something!
Lovely video, where do you purchase your walnut veneer panel for the top of the Platsa units? Is this something you purchase in standard sizes or is made to order? Thanks.
Hi! I am planning to male similar bench for dining (betsa or platsa modules). I was just wondering if it really can hold together after sitting there because ikea says it is only for 20-50kg load? 🤔 or it can be saved by adding top desk?
Hi Reynard, love your content! I was actually trying to make a bench out of an ikea unit like Besta or yours one, but according to Ikea it doesn’t hold more than 20kg weight. Do you think placing a wood top panel on top of the unit can increase its weight capacity? Thanks
Yeah the platsa bench is meant to hold more weight. But yes, a timber panel on top should help distribute the weight, although you may need more support to hold more weight (L-brackets, 2 by 4s at the bottom and/or back, etc).
Hi! I live in melbounre not too far from the city amd will be moving with my partner to a new unfurnished apartment soon (between late oct to dec). How would you be interested in an interior design project for us? It will be the first time we move in together and since i am just a fresh graduate and my partner is still studying, we are incredibly excited

What a lovely calm voice over
The commitment to DIY really makes me grateful...
No crazy power tools, most from IKEA, exactly the content I need
Thank you
Beautiful. Thank you for highlighting the sustainability of mango wood.
I made such a bench using 2 60x40 cabinets, not using the bottom desks and no doors. On the top I put a wooden desk. Went out just perfect!
Great makeover. Loved the console table. Thank you for sharing your affordable ideas using Ikea furniture.
Wonderful. A design i can relate too. The others while great are not budget friendly n are from désigners i never heard from. Thank you ❤
The entry looks gorgeous I particularly love the mirror. And what a bargain you got for the chair. This is indeed budget friendly.
After moving in to a new space, I was really struggling how I design my entry way, but I think I found it :D Thanks for the inspiration!
The Entry looks elegant and functional -good job!

Wow,I love that mirror 🪞😍
Very cool decors you got, I really like the console. I also want something that is interesting rather than just basic and don’t break the budget 😅

beautiful and organized! I love it. And I like those lights!!
Nice. It's a lovely diy entryway makeover. Love the bench
Small world! I went to high school in Fitzroy. Lovely result.
What a beautiful entry you have congrats 🎉
take some quarter round or similar trim, and border the cane. It'll cover the edges and tidy it up :D
Wow..this video is the reason I subscribed to your channel! So impressed by your choices of pieces and skills!❤
fire entryway!!
Hey Reynard! In one of your previous videos I saw a beautiful air diffuser - do you recommend some specific one?
do you somehow secure wall behind the jacket that go on the hangers?
They look beautiful
What are cool design channels you'd recommend? I am going down a new rabbit hole haha

Where did you get your dining room chairs? They’re sick!
Great video and tips as always. Thanks! Can you share the link to the reed diffuser you use. Thanks
They’re from MUJI, it’s the green scent.
So beautiful and functional- quick question - how did you secure these cabinets to wall? And the tall cabinet to the bottom bench?
Upper cabinet is drilled to the bottom bench. Bottom bench sits flat on floor so no need to secure on wall.
Great transformation Reynard

Thanks! I just got them custom cut from our local timber supplier.
Was that an App you use to plan the rooms, logging items, etc?
@reynardlowell is the walnut veneer panel on the Platsa bench also from Ikea? Please may you link?

May I know which drill bits you used to to drill the hole and install the handles?
Looks nice! 👌🏻 is that the Notion app I notice you using?
Yes, we have a planning template made out of Notion - you can check it out here rlowell.com/furnishingtemplate
Amazing just purchased thank you 🙏
Any suggestion what units can be substituted. I don’t see plasma available at ikea anymore.
Looks great!

Wow the console table so nice and expensive 😂
Do you have recommendation on free software that can help us do our own space planning for our rooms?
floorplanner.com is free for personal use. Magicplan is good too if you prefer using an ipad.
@@reynardlowell thank you so much. Have been following your videos - they're very useful! Thank you!
Wondering how this is holding up

Nice job 👍😀
How can I get to this ikea design page please?
maybe a plant on top of cabinet to hide imperfection
I do not see the Platsa system here in the United States.
Instead of raffia, why didn't you use flat woven bamboo?
what design tool did you use?
oh too bad. we dont have platsa ikea here in canada
What panel did you use
So cool
What paint color is this, BM Simply White?
It’s Dulux White On White (We’re in Australia).
Why not add a rug/runner in the hall to keep dirt out?
Our front porch has a roof, and we placed a large mat in front of the door to keep the dirt out.
ah shit, you are based in Sydney. Nice
what is the name of the big plant? Thank you.
It's a Dracaena Mass Cane Corn Plant.
