Do you need an adapter to use a LiPo battery instead? New to this. Sorry if its obvious

No questions are bad questions. It depends on your lipo but yes for me I had to use a tamiya to deans(t-style). Make sure the lipo fits before you, I struggled with my hard case lipos being to high for the hold down.
@@EyesOnRC so when you changed it to a 2S battery, did it make much difference in power or how long you could drive for compared to the stock battery? Would "Deans "T" Style Male to Tamiya Female" work? (Found it on ebay cheap)
Joe Mewton it makes a clear difference in power but not top speed as both battery types run at 7.4v. As for runtime I have run both types with 5000mah for at least 30min, I never ran to flat. I think that is correct but as I’m not home at the moment I can not check it for you.
@@EyesOnRC you've been very helpful and I appreciate your quick correspondence. I've got a Maverick Phantom XT arriving tomorrow and was just curious as to the difference of a 2S 5000 mah or just staying with the NiMh battery but upping the amh to 5000. Your video was very helpful
Ive found a 7.4v 5000amh 35c 2S LiPo battery, with Tamiya connector, would that suffice, fit straight in and provide as you mentioned more power? What's the top speed and is it properly waterproof? Thanks

Don't worry I've already installed my antenna with the tube that came with the car.

You should have received a little black tube in your package.
Inside the car, locate the antenna.
To the left their is a tiny grub screw.
You can unscrew that with a tiny L wrench.
Since the antenna is long you can push it down but make sure your antenna is in the tube.
You can cut the tube to make it shorter.
After that...tighten the grub screw.
