- We took out the brand new HPI Maverick Phantom XT for the first drive, more to come when we get a 2S lipo in it.
Really nice car, good for beginners or kids. Lots of fun driving it, thanks again to OZRC for getting these in quickly and letting us get our hands on it.

B-A-DadnSons they really did! My stepkid drives this now, he is 7 and it’s pretty close to what he can handle speed wise. And being 4wd it gives more control.
Love the vids man, I’m running 2lipos in mine, gives it a kick, however I’m upgrading to aluminium steering knuckles front and rear

I love the look of this truck. How does it compare to the Maverick Strada range? I was just about to bite the bullet and buy a Strada MT or XT but then I saw this was coming out and have been waiting for reviews of it.
Farran Deschamps I honestly haven’t driven the Strada MT but the Strada line is a lot more expanded with both brushed and brushless and also some higher level equipment versions. As this is the first Phantom there is room for development but it is faster than the comparable brushed version. Bit more agile from what can make out. Personally I think it could do with some uprated shocks in the front or maybe just a heavier weight oil.

It is not 3S compatible as far as I know.

Looks pretty quick for a brushless set up. How is the durability? Any issues?
It was still brushed in this video but I am now running it brushless!

Would brushless motor be a good replacement?
It is, i have put a max 10 60 amp in with a 4300kv motor ready to be tested out but i think the differential wont like it!

Yes, I would say it is durable. Just avoid hitting the curb like I did in the video, the shock bottom out and I hit a screw in the front bulkhead, nothing broke but it scraped the head of the screw.
