Wanted to see if this channel became active again, and it is! Great to see. Nice work fellas.
I added the KD 10 kickpad and a CY-8 for a ride and used the extra plug for another crash. Looking back I probably should have done a CY-13r for the ride but oh well. You can round out the kit with a VH-10 hi hat, so I agree its great for beginners after about two years or so if you drum consistently you will probably want something better. Not having a bell and poor crossstick probably the only big drawbacks
Edit
I actually did end up just getting the CY-13r ride cymbal but the best upgrade was the snare to to the PDX-12 and using the old PDX 8 snare for a floor tom. I went with the VH 11 hi hat as well.
Is it possible to add another cymbal? 🤔 I thought there was not this possibility with this module
@@GiselleDK Yes you can add a crash or ride if you get a CY-13r it has two plugs one for the ride and one for the bell you can unplug a crash and add it to the ride and only have one crash or just go without the bell and have a much bigger ride.
You have a total of four cymbals two crashes ride and HH. You probably thought that because this model can be bought bare bones or almost decked out as a TD-17. The top end TD07 is probably skipped by most buyers for the TD17.
I bought the bare bones and it just made it more economically to upgrade with really good used components. I wasnt sure if I was gonna like drumming either.
Hope this helps
@reaper69316 thanks for answering! I'm considering getting this one for my daughter, as I already have a KT-9 pedal and some extra cymbals but I was not sure I could use them, so it's good to know 😄
The first one is just KVX version lol
do you guys have a video where you show how loud the drums are? I would like to buy this kit for my apartment and I'm interested in how it sounds when the drums are hit, as well as the kick pedal
Me too.
How do you program the bell on the ride cymbal?
Is there any electric kit same feel as acoustic drum set? Like when you play soft it’s light, when you play heavy it’s loud.
Hi I am buying this set and bringing it on a plane, do you think this will fit on a big suitcase? Mostly I am worried about the rack height, will the longer stick of the rack fit on a suitcase?
How many playzones on the snare n toms and on the cymbals?
could i replace yamaha kp65 kick pad to the roland kick pad?
Hello, can we add snare drum sounds?
What headphones do you recommend?
Does the output/phones jack run into an amplifier if I wanted to use one of those Roland v drum amplifiers ? I also noticed I can't get a cross stick rim click with these sounds ... Is there a way to access those samples? All I get when I click the rim is a rim shot .. no clickity click for my slow jams .. 😂 .. yeah, no bell sound on the ride either. I'd suggest to anyone getting these to buy the TD-07DMKX ... two small crashes and a larger ride come with it and it's only a few bucks more. I like it so far, only a few things .. wish the mounts were metal instead of plastic .. lock em' down tight because they're gonna move on you, especially if you're a hard hitter.
You can change the sensitivity of how that happens, but, it requires it to be in a very specific spot of the pad to do the rim shot
@@RobiWanKenobi_567 Thanks .. I need to play with it more. I figured there had to be a way to get that sound. You'd think they could just put that sample toward the left or right on the rim. You don't need loud rim shots in those areas.
compared to Roland TD-1DMK?
What amp do you use for this kit, please?
Roland makes amps for these kits or you can use a good keyboard amp. just don't waste your time with a guitar or bass amp, it will sound like garbage
Can more cymbals be added with that module? 4 instead of just 2.
Yesish
The module has just 1 extra jack and thats labeled crash 2, so you can have only 2 crashes. *Dualzoned*
You can however get 2 jack splitters and that way have 4 crashes, but then its just single zones
Can you change the pre sets sound with plugging programs(?)
It has midi capability so you can use things like EZdrummer or superior drummer with it
With ekits,is it best to use nylon tip drumsticks or wood ?
Personal preference. Either option works.
use whatever you use on an acoustic kit. I've used wood tip 808's on my old TD-4K kit for 10+ years and the playing surfaces still look great
I think that lack of 3 zone ride is a pretty serious flaw
You can replace the ride voor a CY-13R and plug in the extra trigger cable. Then you have one. It is a pity it is not standard included, that i agree.
I disagree. I think not being able to add more cymbal triggers is a lot worse. You can add 1 more crash, but they're all mono
Frankly 3 zone rides are really expensive and they take up 2 slots on the module. Most rides now just activate the bell sound if you hit it harder which in my opinion is a lot easier to deal with than not having a China cymbal and 2 crashes
This is true. I have a TD-07DMK drum kit, I bought a used CY12-R and it sounds great, the price was good.
not at this price point.
You can't have EVERYTHING in a Ekit for the money brother.
Those cymbals supposedly have edge and bow zones but the module only let's them be mono lol what a buzzkill
The problem is this kit is ugly as hell 😭😭 I’m still confused on who at Roland saw this and thought it was a great idea visually
what? it looks like every other electronic drum kit
it's exactly what one would expect for the price. you want 'cooler' looking drums, shell out som $$ for the VAD series
