Dr. Marc Sklar - FertilityTV - why is it when drs give statistics on chances of conceiving after 45 years old they don’t individually take into consideration couples with proven fertility and couples who are older but healthy. Like us, we are 47&49 we have 7 bio children and we’ve been getting pregnant every year for the past 3 years and we’ve been trying 3 years? Yes we’re experiencing losses but the last pregnancy just 2 mos ago lasted 12.5 weeks with a loss from a large sub chorionic hematoma. Would we still be in that less than 5% of conceiving? My mom didn’t go into menopause on her own she had a hysterectomy at 27 so I can’t judge that. But my grandmother had children in her later 40’s and my husbands grandparents had 18 living children their last at 49&52. Sorry for the long post but I know many women who have the same question abt the statistics being the maw for older but fertile couples. Btw, We are trying again after 2 normal cycles since our loss.

@@harvemedharvemed7796 i was on the Flo living diet for 4 months. I was taking extra vitamins during specific times in my cycle to boost the nutrients that my diet was providing, and I was exercising and seed cycling.

Good, good to do it with ur own eggs. I watched a documentary on egg donation. Many of the young women donating eggs get ovarian hyperstimulation. They are young and are more sensitive to hormones, which relates to why they are able to donate in the first place. The condition is life threatening and they have very little monitoring. Many ended up in the hospital. Some of them even lost the ability to have children themselves. One got cancer shortly thereafter. It is unethical and the industry only favors those with infertility bc they are the ones with purchasing power. The donors are so desperate for money that they sell off their own fertility and bodies. That financial inequity also makes it unethical unless the donor is a volunteer.
I had 6 of my kids after 35. The last 3 were after 40!

I just had my 3rd baby 4 mos ago at the age at 47 my other children are 27 and 23 so it’s possible and my pregnancy was not high risk health wise only due to my age. My 4mos old son was born 9.1 lbs by c-section. So the best of luck to those trying after the age of 35 don’t give up hope.😀

I’ll be 42 next week and I just found out yesterday that I’m pregnant. We started trying 3 months ago, and we were not even trying to hard and bam💥. I thought I would not be able to get pregnant because I constantly hear people say that it’s nearly impossible to get pregnant naturally in your 40d. I guess it’s not true.
You cannot try hard or less hard, just at the right time during ovulation. It is statistically more difficult to get pregnant after 40 for most women. It does not mean it is impossible though. Also it does not mean that because some women do get pregnant naturally after 40 that it is easy for everyone. It is different for every woman and obviously the quality of the male's sperm also needs to be taken into account. This is a variable that is not often taken into account.

I really needed this. I'm going to be 43 soon and I've been crying about not having a baby yet. My mum had six children. She was 41 and I know one of my mum's aunties got pregnant at 50 or close to 50 and was embarrassed about it. My periods are regular. I'm getting over illness where I hurt myself badly and was fainting from pain but now we've found the root cause of it all and I'm getting better and better everyday. This comforts me. I’m 36 and 7 weeks pregnant. I got pregnant after trying all year and had a miscarriage in sept.. right after that I got pregnant again shockingly and we barely even had sex.. thought the miscarriage meant I was now too old and didn’t expect to get pregnant after that. Im 35 pregnant at week 28 with my first, it wasnt planned but we are very happy
I started HRT (low dose of estrogen and testosterone) at 37 to help me feel better during peri menopause. I spontaneously conceived and delivered a perfect little boy at 43, and then a perfect baby girl at 45…4 months shy of my 46th birthday! No IVF needed. (I DID NEED to supplement progesterone once I conceived, with each baby that I delivered in my 40’s.)
What else was I doing? Very consistent exercise (for decades) keeping my weight to the quite lower end of normal for my height. Good nutrition (tho not perfect, whatever perfect is), addressing any deficiencies picked up on my regular annual blood tests. I kept thyroid hormones in ideal parameters as well. Not much harder to have babies in my 40’s than the first one I had at 35.

I love your videos and the hope that you bring! I am 42 now and went through a few iui‘ s and three attempts at ivf because of my husband’s poor sperm count, motility, and morphology. Three RE’s turned it around on me saying that I was too old, my AMH was too low, which also indicated that my egg quality was also poor. By that time I was 41. He begged me to get a donor egg. I left his office telling him he was wrong and I knew my eggs were good. My husband went sterile, and I discovered a sperm bank that delivers sperm to your home for at home insemination. I conceived on the first try, and my beautiful daughter, in perfect health, just had her first birthday in February .

@@mayelkhouly3125 Thank you. I had a HSG test in early March that came back normal and I was going to have two uterine polyps removed in late March, but it's been postponed until further notice. My fiance is also refusing to have a semen analysis done. It's been such a challenging time for me, and I'm sure for all of us struggling with infertility.

@@cocoxoxoxo7881 I'm about to start Letrozole, and if it's still unsuccessful I'll use donor sperm. I've had everything checked and I'm totally fine. I have PCOS so I take a little too long to ovulate, but that's it. My reproductive endocrinologist said that taking a medicine like letrozole would be all I need. Well, now I just need good sperm.

I’m 47. Having all symptoms of pregnancy. Period due in 2 days. I’m am absolutely terrified!! Actually eyes watering as I type this! I have 2 sons 28 and 21!!! I have fibroids so I actually didn’t think this was even possible with my heavy horrible periods! Although my cycles are 28 days CLOCKWORK!! But, I thought fibroids would decrease odds of fertility. 35. First pregnancy at 22 and was a miscarriage. Got pregnant 2 months later. So 2 children 22/23and 24/25. Went through thyroid cancer treatment 4 months after my second. Been scared to have another since. Now my husband and I feel safe enough. Discontinued 9 years of BC snf taking my meds faithfully. But now I’m 35 and have no idea what to expect
I am 40 years old my husband and I tried to get pregnant when I was 35 and 36 when it didn't happen we had a sperm analysis done found out he had low motility morphology and volume it's been 6 years now never got pregnant. 4 months ago I started on a medicine called low dose naltroxone for an autoimmune condition I have, well I popped up pregnant six weeks ago, come to find out they also use low dose naltroxone in people with fertility issues! So maybe I had a bit of an issue too that I didn't know about that the medicine corrected 🤔🤷
