I’m not over 40 yet but am close.I’m wondering if being on hormonal birth control ie: the pill, shot, etc. for many years affects fertility. I opted to not use hormonal birth control and got pregnant within 2 months of trying at 38- gave birth a month ago at 39. My 3 boys are each 6 years apart. I can relate to this, i’m 45 and been trying to get pregnant as well. Having issues with ovulation/period... You have some good ideas However, To be honest I am tired of this under 40 and over forth business. This is all ageist stuff. Women are women and each woman has her own pattern of life. We know that most women go through menopause over fifty. Why can't we just say helping women to improve their fertility whatever their age - whether twenties thirties forties or even possibly fifties I am not in forties but still I wish these ideas would go away before we reach there and get affected by them. Even less than that we have such ideas since we were around 20 and I just wish that people would realize the fact that actually and is not a big issue, our health, genetics and other issues are more important and age should not be used to dictate our life. I mean menopause is usuallyfor people over the age of fifty. We know many women in their forties who have children, so why do we insist with keeping to agist ideas that things can't happen over forty? No evidence and psuedo science!

Dear Dr. Marc, First of all thanks a lot for the informative video. I am currently 28 years old, but me and my fiancé (who is a 28 year old man) we have no plans to have children before we turn 40, because I still want to live my life, enjoy my youth, and build a solid career. But, sometimes I watch these videos and read articles about pregnancy after 40 to start preparing myself, to inform myself - also because, at least in my opinion, having a child requires many, many years of research, and understanding... no not only to conceive the child, but also to take care of her own physical integrity as a woman, and to know exactly how to educate this vulnerable person who will arrive in the world. Although there is still a long time to go, more or less a decade for me to start actively trying to get pregnant, I want to start informing myself about pregnancy at a reasonably older age (because I really think that 40 is not old, because nowadays women over 50 can be mothers), but I also hope that in the 30's there will be more technology, and methods that doctors are not aware in the present days. I sincerely hope that technologies evolve, and that in the very future when I am prepared to become a mother, pregnancy after 40 years does not have the stigma that it has today for some people and some closed-minded doctors. And I expect that not only because it's my decision to wait to have a child...but also for other women. I wish this for girls and women in society, because we are no longer in 1930, we women and young couples are not obliged to waste our youth taking care of a child. We have the right to explore life, grow, build a structure, and be our best versions before we decide something as big as bringing a child into the world - a child deserves such a country too. Let's fight for a future in which it is beyond all doubt possible to be mothers at 40 and beyond! I would reccomend freezing your eggs. I'm 42 and had my daughter at 30. Many of my friends at that same age also had children but several of them had to have ivf to conceive, they thought they would just come off the pill and get pregnant and it just didn't work like that. I have only a limited number of friends but if say 30% of them needed help to conceive after trying naturally. Waiting until you are 40 although you won't necessarily feel old you will notice changes in your cycle and your general health and looks. Gambling on a few good eggs surviving until that age and having them fertilised is very risky if you are certain you want your own children.

I’ve seen 2 women married one twice at 25 then at 28 , the other in her 33, they could not have kids naturally. What I’ve learned is feeling whole without a husband and kids matters first. Also, few people talk about that, but the more a woman feels safe and secure in a relationship and in life, the easier her body can welcome a baby. If you believe in this life you are going to have children, you are going to have them. To attract the right husband means you feel whole, you love life, you are living your purpose, and you carry yourself in a way he can recognize. Go to places where you would love to live an see don’t forget to do the inner work. Also look at how you manifest things in your life, there is always common patterns and use these to create your relationship list (prioritize needs over wants). Good luck and have faith!

I have 5 kiddos, my eldest is 20 and just had her first baby, and we started to try almost 3 years ago and had a miscarriage very early on then all of this time passing, we just decided to stop focus on trying about 2 months ago, and SURPRISE! I can relate to this, i’m 45 and been trying to get pregnant as well. Having issues with ovulation/period... However, To be honest I am tired of this under 40 and over forth business. This is all ageist stuff. Women are women and each woman has her own pattern of life. We know that most women go through menopause over fifty. Why can't we just say helping women to improve their fertility whatever their age - whether twenties thirties forties or even possibly fifties
I am not in forties but still I wish these ideas would go away before we reach there and get affected by them. Even less than that we have such ideas since we were around 20 and I just wish that people would realize the fact that actually and is not a big issue, our health, genetics and other issues are more important and age should not be used to dictate our life. I mean menopause is usuallyfor people over the age of fifty. We know many women in their forties who have children, so why do we insist with keeping to agist ideas that things can't happen over forty? No evidence and psuedo science!
I believe that women can get pregnant over 30 or 40. Age means very little to me as long as someone is healthy and taking care of themselves.

I am not sure if it would have thicked going on... 17yrs of married life and couple of failed ivf icsi,3rd attempt tmrw. Dear Dr. Marc, First of all thanks a lot for the informative video. I am currently 28 years old, but me and my fiancé (who is a 28 year old man) we have no plans to have children before we turn 40, because I still want to live my life, enjoy my youth, and build a solid career. But, sometimes I watch these videos and read articles about pregnancy after 40 to start preparing myself, to inform myself - also because, at least in my opinion, having a child requires many, many years of research, and understanding... no not only to conceive the child, but also to take care of her own physical integrity as a woman, and to know exactly how to educate this vulnerable person who will arrive in the world. Although there is still a long time to go, more or less a decade for me to start actively trying to get pregnant, I want to start informing myself about pregnancy at a reasonably older age (because I really think that 40 is not old, because nowadays women over 50 can be mothers), but I also hope that in the 30's there will be more technology, and methods that doctors are not aware in the present days.
I sincerely hope that technologies evolve, and that in the very future when I am prepared to become a mother, pregnancy after 40 years does not have the stigma that it has today for some people and some closed-minded doctors. And I expect that not only because it's my decision to wait to have a child...but also for other women. I wish this for girls and women in society, because we are no longer in 1930, we women and young couples are not obliged to waste our youth taking care of a child. We have the right to explore life, grow, build a structure, and be our best versions before we decide something as big as bringing a child into the world - a child deserves such a country too. Let's fight for a future in which it is beyond all doubt possible to be mothers at 40 and beyond! I would reccomend freezing your eggs. I'm 42 and had my daughter at 30. Many of my friends at that same age also had children but several of them had to have ivf to conceive, they thought they would just come off the pill and get pregnant and it just didn't work like that. I have only a limited number of friends but if say 30% of them needed help to conceive after trying naturally. Waiting until you are 40 although you won't necessarily feel old you will notice changes in your cycle and your general health and looks. Gambling on a few good eggs surviving until that age and having them fertilised is very risky if you are certain you want your own children.
I regret badly for not having kids earlier, I would suggest to have kids before 35 or at least freeze eggs. Technology is not that powerful

I’ve seen 2 women married one twice at 25 then at 28 , the other in her 33, they could not have kids naturally. What I’ve learned is feeling whole without a husband and kids matters first. Also, few people talk about that, but the more a woman feels safe and secure in a relationship and in life, the easier her body can welcome a baby. If you believe in this life you are going to have children, you are going to have them. To attract the right husband means you feel whole, you love life, you are living your purpose, and you carry yourself in a way he can recognize. Go to places where you would love to live an see don’t forget to do the inner work. Also look at how you manifest things in your life, there is always common patterns and use these to create your relationship list (prioritize needs over wants). Good luck and have faith!
I just had my 50th birthday and am having a tubal reversal 11-15-2023. The doctor did recommend a donor egg solely based on my age. I’m in great shape and was very fertile before I had a tubal ligation. I have 6 children naturally. Please give me your advice to have another baby after my reversal.
