Hes still a joke since the Myrmidons are the real threat. Taking control of one or even two makes it quite clear. The Mystic Carrion and Cazador were much more of a threat to me since they have spells that actually can end your run

Playing an oath of vengeance paladin I got “The worst thing about revenge is that you only get to do it once” or something to that effect. Paladin-unique dialogue is just great in general
You gotta admit, Lorrokan has got some balls challenging a Demi-God/Angel AND an Adventurer who just marched through the Shadowlands and killed Ketheric Thorm like it was nothing. Oh, what arrogance can do to a man.
Oh wow I just did this scene yesterday without the patch and felt something was lacking. So glad they’re still improving moments like these :) I’m still on my first playthrough but this keeps me motivated to do many more after I’m done!!

The biggest issue I had with betraying her felt like she was just another random NPC with no importance. Her calling on her girls to smite you to smithereens is way fucking cooler. Wish you'd get some sort of debuff or negative status affect for betraying her, like, I think imprisoning the child of the moonmaiden warrants some curse at least
Agreed. Betraying Alyn is really a double kill ,because when Isobel goes to free her, she's cut down right in front of the enslaved Alyn inside Lorrocan's Tower. Her body will be lying outside the Soul Circle holding Alyn if you ever go back into the Tower.

This second capture would probably provoke a whole ass crusade against that tower by every paladin and cleric sworn to Selune. You know, assuming the moonmaiden doesn't break the rules and do something directly.

Here's something sad for this scene: Selune actually disowns Aylin after she kills Lorroakan. You can notice it by examining her and you'll see she will no longer have the buff "Child of the Moonmaiden" that's why she feels sad and she doesn't even know it.

Nah. Very unlikely. Selune is all for the killing of people like Lorroakan, an unrepentant individual that was going to try to torture her for eternity to steal some of Selune's divinity from her half-Celestial daughter. She's a CG deity, you don't have to be merciful to everyone. Especially those who have shown no remorse or request none.

Like Ketheric and Lorroakan deserve what's coming to them in accordance to all that is just, but Aylin very obviously *_reveling_* in their ultimate ends could be a no-no. At the very least the feeling she describes is very similar to what other paladins/aspiring paladins feel when breaking their oaths in the game.
I honestly don't remember where it was said, but if I'm not mistaken, she felt a feeling of despondency due to the fact that she felt a little abandoned by her mother. Technically if you didn't help her she would find herself imprisoned again. If you are the daughter of a Goddess and within a few centuries everything goes badly for you, you feel a little discouraged when you think about why your beloved mother doesn't protect you from such infamous fates. Take what I said with a pinch of salt because I don't remember if they were explanations from a dev or just a theory

Most Paladins don't have a Moonbeam aura that follows them and deals damage to everyone around them. We have no evidence whatsoever of her being a standard Paladin because Celestials GET smiting abilities standard. Thus inventing a theory that she has an oath when we don't even know what the tenets of that Oath is often used to fit people's worldview that she's a bad person committing 'no nos'. She absolutely doesn't describe that, and in BG3 the act of breaking one's oath is FAR more dramatic than that. Aylin is tired. She's been tortured for over a hundred years, continually killed and ressurrected by her divinity, by the cruelty of the person that everyone is like 'Oh nooooo SHE'S SO BRUTAL for treating that person like that.' Then immediately a mage comes to enslave her to do the same thing and everyone is like. 'NOPE SHE BROKE HER OATH, BAD PALADIN.' We don't even know what her oath is, that she has one, but people jump to her doing something /wrong/ for being over the top in executing a great evil. People need to examine why they actually think this of her. A more fitting easier example that isn't a stretch is 'Aylin has PTSD'.

Me personally, I just think her feelings at the end of it all is her response to finally being past the ordeal. That is to say I agree with you that Aylin has some form of PTSD. Almost every major narrative through-line in this game is about trauma and the survival thereof. Aylin's technically free, but she still has a century's worth of suffering to work through now that there's nothing greater to occupy her thoughts
In my playthrough, Rolan was also there, so the dialogues before and after the fight played out slightly different for me than in the video, showing more of Lorroakan’s abusive side. I sided with Aylin and she even had a brief line acknowledging Rolan after the fight. Little additions and differences in detail like that in this game continue to amaze me.
I’m sad I redid this fight just before the patch, so I missed the new intros, but they did an awesome job with presentation here. Also Lorrokan is my most hated character in this game. High above Balthazar and the hag.

My Paladin used him as a stick to toss and hit with. Used him as an improvised weapon against his fire myrmidon, then bashed the rest when he died. His summons were way too weak. All that prep that I made for the fight was a waste of time. As a wizard, he's weak to anything physical and I literally wiped the floor with him. That was almost as satisfactory a fight as when i fought Raphael. I didn't even mean to involve Aylin in the fight. Is there a benefit to doing so?

Has it fixed the spawn so you're not just stuck clustered in a corner with all your summons so you don't just get nuked from the get-go? Always feels wrong how you're in his face talking to him and then shuffled to the side at a severe disadvantage.

Years of torture and chained down by the worst in Baldur's Gate had Tav eating popcorn as she worked out her PTS on the world when released.

Has it fixed the spawn so you're not just stuck clustered in a corner with all your summons so you don't just get nuked from the get-go? Always feels wrong how you're in his face talking to him and then shuffled to the side at a severe disadvantage.
