Very Very Special Agent Beazit is back, this time he is training up his fellow ATF officers on how the ATF decides what is and what is not a Silencer. (This isn't a real leaked internal training video from the ATF, it's a cartoon pretend ATF man ... for those of you who are a little slow.)
While what you see in the video is not real, it is based very much on reality. All of the examples of things in this video are taken from official ATF Determination letters. Nothing in the video or in associated materials like this description should be construed as legal advice. Despite being dead wrong on the law, the ATF can and does F people's lives up pretty regularly on a whim.

I sincerely hope that real ATF agents are watching all of these videos and realizing what most of the American public actually think of them.

I despise the ATF's tyranny, but the majority of agents are good people who are firearms enthusiasts just like you and I. Unfortunately for them, they are stuck enforcing laws that they may and probably do actually disagree with.
The people who these videos mock are the mid-upper-level bureaucrats who ARE anti-2nd Amendment and either don't know jack about firearms or do know and don't care and are appointed to do as much damage as they can!

@@mrfuriouser i work in a public school that is rural... even we have smart boards or Touch screens on the walls. The only Overhead projector is in a closet of old unused, but still inventoried assets.
The anti-gun crowd likes to say the 2A is outdated and not relevant. I contend the NFA is outdated and not relevant. SBRs are the standard military arm now (M-4 with 14.5" barrel) and the military is buying silencers by the truckload. So those two items are now consistent with military preparedness of the militia (us) and are in common use.
Stocked pistols, subachineguns, mortars.
Not to mention besides SBR's you also have seen the development of new Bullpup rifles.

@Wayne Flanigan a .22 could be muffled to sound like a loud pellet gun. A 9mm muffled could sound like a loud .22 magnum. Not as silent as you think

These videos explain the AFT perfectly. Madison vs Marbury said “all laws repugnant to the constitution are null and void” which I would think means the AFT should actually have zero power to put people in prison. It’s only like that because of those before us becoming compliant to the federal government. It’s sad that people let it get that far.

That's because of how they've aged at a fixed price. Adjusted for inflation, it was the equivalent of $4,148.48 back in 1934 when it was implemented. The price itself comes from the price of machine guns at the time, with the idea of curtailing crime by making it expensive. Because the mob didn't have money...

I got caught with a silencer, the atf chose not to press charges. It may be because it was a .22 that was never used in a crime but they wouldn't give me my firearms back. Thank God oil filters are everywhere

Theres 2 reasons they won't consider removing suppressors from the NFA.
(1) By removing suppressors, it opens the door to also removing SBRs, SBS's, and machine guns. Which leads to reason 2.
(2) By removing suppressors from the NFA, and by the same reasoning all other NFA items, which would abolish the NFA, the Feds would lose not only a huge cash cow, but would also fail to be able to maintain a register of persons firearms and items. Funny enough though, the NFA is unconstitutional and illegal for the same reason poling taxes are: It is illegal to tax a right. Yet the Feds are perfectly fine looking one way for one issue and the other way for the other. Long story short, the US govt needs a swift and bloody restructuring to take it back to the glory the Founding Father's intended.
I would also like to point out that on October 3rd 2017 the HUSH act was supposed to go before congress which would have made suppressors legal and no longer a registered controlled item, among other things in the bill. 2 days prior however, you had the sh00ting from the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas (not perpetrated by the official suspect) which completely killed any possible momentum to the bill dead in the water. That I find rather confusing and strange .
It's interesting to me that the populist left and the populist right both want to see restructuring of the government. We just disagree on what the restructuring should look like. And the institutional power has a vested interest in keeping us from coming together on anything.

Why does the AFT's opinion on if suppressors should be NFA Items matter at all? They do not have the authority to remove or add items to the NFA or to ban or legalize anything. They can shove their opinion up their urethra.

@Uhhuh A guy on the FBI watch list was suddenly removed from said list, got himself an AR and silencer, and went on a spree shooting, all in a matter of like two weeks. Might be four, but all very peculiar.
Maybe they don’t really work that well, but it doesn’t matter. The BATFE says they are illegal and that settles it. The “moderator” on the XM177 used by MACVSOG didn’t do much either. But the BATFE decided they had to be registered and that settles it. Funny how they can make law isn’t it?

The reason why they don't arrest the homeless for petty bum crimes anymore. Jail is not really a strong deterrent when it's an improvement over bum life, especially during winter. I've heard from a real bum the cops in areas that don't want bums will hound and hassle bums without arresting them to encourage moving someplace else more bum friendly.

The purchase of a silencer should be no different that that of buying a firearm. Complete a background check. But NO, the ATF makes you submit a fingerprint card, provide a photo, pass their background check and submit $200 for each silencer.
Honestly, you shouldn't even need a background check. It's an accessory, not a firearm. Why in the world would you need a background check to posses a tube with baffles inside it... you can literally buy one from any autoparts store for $20.
