Very Very Special Agent Richard Beazit and his sidekick Sebastian from the technology branch are giving their take on several recent events and responding to some nasty little comments that were left on the ATF's Facebook page by uncouth perpetrators that think they own the place.
I'll do it again too.

they will argue that it was checked and cleared by someone else... ignoring that anyone else would be charged and imprisoned regardless if it was loaded or not
I don't trust anyone to make sure a firearm is unloaded even if it's in a court room.

@@FirearmsUnknown Firearms are passed around after being collected by the police through multiple hands. This guy is an idiot, personally before even picking the rifle up I'd be checking the chamber and removing the bolt from the rifle. Bolt and charging handle are still in the rifle. Dust cover is open it's very obvious

@@GiuseppeSimonetti Obviously as a piece of evidence they can't excessively modify the rifle... otherwise the defense could have someone testify that the gun has been tampered with. However I do wonder why they didn't at least put a chamber block in it, and also why they took the sights off.
The fact the rifle in Bingers possession was not loop locked thru the bolt is amazing. Who was in charge of securing the fire arms?

I recently got called a “crazy gun nut” because I was talking about how gun safety rules need to be followed at all times.
Amazing.
I don't have much patience for someone who tells me to "chill out" or something similar when I see a gun safety rule being violated and say something about it.
Firearms accidents are just as avoidable as child bathtub drowning accidents.
Not every person has a brain especially on the internet.
My 6 year old can tell you the basics of gun safety. It isn't hard, just to many dumb dumbs

That prosecutor should have immediately been charged with a dozen counts of brandishing.
If I had been a juror, I'd have insisted on it. Lock him up or let us go deliberate and find Kyle innocent.
I sure as heck wouldn't have just sat there with a gun pointing at me, with his finger on the trigger. I would have moved, and called out his lack of gun safety. He deserved to be acknowledged as the moron he is.
WI doesn't have a brandishing law. He should be disbarred for every single thing he did in that trial.

Hell at that point Kyle would have been innocent even if the evidence said otherwise.

I know of “stand your ground” doctrine and of the “castle doctrine” but not this one. Must be the “ butchered sheep” doctrine, or “there is no such thing as self defense” rule. I had not seen that in the constitution.

Everyone knows it's the accessories like grips,sights,rails, magazines,muzzle brake etc that make guns dangerous anyway so Little Binger and Alec didn't do anything wrong.
Alec Baldwin had a single action army, which is logically the safest non muzzleloading firearm, because pistols are obviously less dangerous than rifles (despite the fact that pistols are used in 40x as many gun homicides).
Those are accessories and extremely dangerous and most likely racist as well. Those things were designed only for the govt to use anyway. So there's no reason for anyone outside the govt to have them. It's time we accepted that and stopped asking questions and demanding to be treated special.

If I had been on that jury I would have dove for the floor, screamed I was in fear of my life and demanded the judge have him arrested on the spot for endangering everyone's lives on that jury panel.
I think Sebastian is actually pro the public having guns. He has to keep his job though to support his family, so he just ends up agreeing with his boss.

I love that the more Sebastian gets away from his computer and actually sees the real world results of his agency's policies through riding along with Very Special Agent Beazit the more he realizes how bad they really are and shifts to actually calling all the idiocy out. I always been led to believe that pointing a gun at people who weren't presenting a threat to you was 'Felonious Assault', and that having your finger on the trigger while doing so could be construed as 'Malice'.

If I was on jury with this prosecutor, I would have filed a complaint. There's absolutely no reason for him to be pointing a firearm, plus his finger on the trigger, at the jury. And if I was the judge I would be furious. I probably would the prosecutor in contemporary and the Bali on un paid leave for the week for letting this happen.
I'd have stood up with my hand raised and schooled the whole court. Then again, I'd have never made it through voir dire to be ON the jury in the FIRST place.
