I appreciate you letting me know my videos are reaching outside the local area of interest. You do have reason to be starving for some of this southern comfort food. Please stay tuned. I will keep ‘em’ coming!
And you do great imitations! Such a classic. Glad you got it your way. You definitely DO NOT have a failure to communicate. Lol. Yet another tempting review and I'm trying g so hard to eat healthy and lose weight. You don't make it easy for us foodies! 😢 ❤ And congrats on your weight loss. I don’t think you're fat at all.
I’m glad I could get your tastebuds attention. I lost most of that weight 30-years ago when I started smoking cigarettes at age 27. I quit 12 years ago when my wife got pregnant. Not a healthy way to Lise weight. It was actually smoking cigars that led me to the cigarettes. Anyway, I still consider myself fat, but I’m comfortable with that.
Iv watched this segment around 12:30 PM and hadn't eaten breakfast or lunch. When your podcast was over I charged toward the kitchen and ate like a possessed man.😆
When we lived in Kentucky in the late sixties my parents brought me here and the waitress said if I didn’t finish my plate I would have to stay and wash dishes and I was just young enough to believe them I was real scared
I have eaten there several times when I am staying in Bardstown while doing distillery tours. Their Hot Brown is soooo goood. They also have a teriffic Bourbon bar.
I love Bardstown, and looks like an interesting restaurant. I love that huge cornbread muffin for the hamburger! When I run out of places in Louisville to visit for lunch or dinner, I will head straight to Bardstown!
Barry my friend, great review on a great place, food looks delicious, Fried cornbread is my fave, I like hot water cornbread also, & I need chunks of raw onions along with the beans, big cold glass of buttermilk, ( I don't care for that sweet jiffy cornbread at all ) I like big slice of vine ripe mater on my baloney sandwich with the onion, etc... God Bless you all. btw, You all have a ratio of at least 20 to 1 on mom/pop places compared to this area & probably more
Hey, pertaining to a Cornbread Mafia connection, there's a restaurant in Raywick, Ky, that opened this Spring, called Backroad Burger Co. I haven't tried it yet, but my daughter who for her job travels to Lebanon on 84 once a week, said the parking lot is fuller every time she passes it, so stopped in for lunch two weeks ago and loved it. Great burger and good portions. (oh, dear! to clarify, the only connection is where it's located, not the old industry) LOL
I was leaning toward the python bite. Snappin turtle works just as well. Great sayings. Some people get to serious on food channels. You don't, which is awesome
Ate there years ago when I was celebrating my Anniversary. We stayed at the Talbot Tavern for the night and ate at both places. Then took.a carriage ride around town, and went to see the Stephen Foster story.
@@goodallscountrykitchen it’s tater tot’s with cheese eggs sausage ham and bacon and cheese with gravy and jalapeños and it’s all served in a cast iron skillet
Yes Oh Yes - I've had everything you both are eating and excellent choices. Mom only gets the Hot Brown dish but I get something different everytime I come but that Cornbread Mafia Burger is SUPERB of having something different. Specialties of Mammy's are their Homemade Pies - usually buy 2 pies to take home - I Am A Pie Guy! BTW, I really don't like John Wayne watching me to my eliminating waste business so I tell him to minn his own business while I am doing mine and he chuckles LOL 😅
These haters in the comments must have miserable lives smh
@@Retiredrookiecigars I was thinking the same thing but find them entertaining.
You are a huge cute hoot. Keep on comin on. I'm a west coast native starving for east coast southern. Karla in Cali.

It’s already on my short list. Thanks for the recommendation.
You have to try their pork rinds. They are AMAZING!
Next time I will. Thanks!
They have good food, however, personally, I was not too fond of the baby Hot Brown the ham overpowered it .
Lol funny to see this pop up on my recommendations. Lived here for awhile

If the ghost can cook , it would be worth a try. I would guess they might be a better cook then some of the restaurant chefs up here.
You should have gotten pie!
You’ll understand why I didn’t when I upload the next review. I had another stop in Bardstown after I left Mammy’s.
