Same sound exactly but why wouldn't it be, it's the same circuitry.....I own the behringer and love it. And remember that in a live situation with a band, no way can you or your audience tell the difference.
Marc Piechowicz I was listening to a blind ts808 vs joyo green drive and I preferred the joyo. You are right. If Steve Ray Vaugn was alive and using it, it would get get rage
I have owned the to800 for 10 years and ive put hundreds of full night shows and countless hours of reheasals and practice on it...having just my modded hotrod deluxe miked through huge front ends and using les pausl ive had professional sound guys say holy crap what amazing tone..Im running clean channel with the to800 running through the front of the amp..its solid as a rock too...Wgs veteran 30 for my driver..
Behringer is brighter which I like since Im mostly a country player. I like the " bite" it has. 25 bucks vrs 180 bucks. I certainly dont hear 155 dollars difference between the two
Always loved behringer. My first pedal was their tuner which cost me £17. Everyone always says they are bad because they’re made of plastic yet I’ve never heard of one breaking.
The Ibanez is in a heavy metal box for people who play live. The Behringer is in a plastic box for home use basically. The Behringer will last if you take care of it $19 at Sweetwater
I'm surprised at how close they sound. I think perhaps the Ibanez is just a hair better in terms of tone and probably more durable but for bedroom pickers like myself the Behringer seems like a great buy.
Good demo!!! I just bought 3 pedals from Behringer....Tube overdrive, phaser, vintage delay ( and some new cables)....and spent under 100 bucks. My MXR Dyna Compressor pedal cost more than all 3 of the Behringer pedals combined. I generally avoid cheap stuff but every video these things sound fantastic!! Ive wanted a phaser to get that Waylon Jennings sound and since they are so cheap I was able to grab a vintage delay slapback echo pedal to enhance my Johnny Cash sound. Then what the hell...I bought the Tube overdrive too. All for about the same price I would have paid to buy 1 pedal I wanted ( MXR Phaser 90).
Have you found the internal trim pot on the Vintage Delay yet? I just did. They have it cranked all the way up from the factory. Turn it all the way down for normal delay times
Luckenbatch Texas type sound- I have used an MXR but have the Behringer on the way. Also bought the vintage delay, their $24 amp modeler pedal and the Super Fuzz, though the Fuzz is back-ordered.
I needed an inexpensive overdrive pedal for a small practice rig so I got the Behringer TO800. The price was too good to pass up. I love it. Great crunch tones. I'm not sure if the plastic case will last a long time though. Only time will tell.
Nothing beats the original, but I have to admit, the Behringer held its own. The only thing I noticed was a bit more noise when the Behringer was engaged. I have the Behringer Super Fuzz and LOVE it! Think I might just have to pick one of these up too, since the Ibanez TS 808 is so expensive these days.
They are both great pedals! Behringer colours the tone a bit more, being less transparent. Not necessarily a bad thing but a matter of taste. I prefer the TS 808 or one of the many Maxon 9 series TS, but Behringer is awesome, specially considering the price!
The question isn’t whether they sound perfectly exactly the same…the question is whether or not you hear $200 worth of difference between the two. Cause I don’t. I got the Behringer for $30, solid purchase.
Just picked up a TS808 😁 In this video, both sound too similar to say one is the hands-down winner. Why did I pick the TS808? Because it looks like it can take a lot more abuse and I'm not very gentle on my pedals lmao. The feel of greater durability was the selling point for me. You could fiddle with the knobs on both and get very similar sounds, similar enough that at a gig and in a mix, only the most trained eara could tell the difference. Rock on 🤘
I had almost all TS variant pedals,,,but still different..all original ibanez TS more cracking, thick, and, glassy than anything compare that they say clone pedal,,,ibanez TS so special things...btw thanks for this video..bro ..cheers
i agree with johnny down below the behringer did sound more bitey and had more of a boost to it and for alot less money plus i like the design a little better and i hate t hat square metal button l prefer the metal smaller switches so for t he price its a steal only thing i wish behringer would at least start putting the pedals in a metal housing instead of cheap platic as long as you dont go stomping on themto hard. check out joyo to thats the direction behringer should be going smaller casing but made of metal instead of plastic.
the only thing is likely gig durability. plastic VS cast pot metal. If your gonna gig 1-3 times a week the original is likely more durable. but sound for sound very tight. the TS 808 was slightly warmer.
I've got it.. They sound different yet the circuits are the same, almost.... Here's why, they both have buffers, neither is true bypass. Swap them around the other way you should get the same differences in reverse.. Worth a try.. The circuits are not quite the same.. The Behringer T0800 circuit is an exact copy of the original Ibanez Black tube screamer which is rare and goes for big bucks.. Ask Josh Smith... He will tell you the same thing...... Don't underestimate the Behringer T0800.
Why is it that most people who do overdrive demos always avoid going all the way up with the overdrive level? Datz what we want to hear. Well, at least one key factor. You don't have to prove what an authentic roots rocker you are. Just crank that bad boy up and let us decide if we want to go all the way up with it or not.
Doing what you want to do in your own video can certainly be a little challenging if someone is looking for every setting out there. Personally I wouldn’t Dime an Overdrive Pedal… but that’s me. Cheers -Ryan
Kinda curious what the difference would be if the levels of distortion were changed. What do they sound like cranked for instance. C'mon man, everyone doesn't play at mid level.
i think they are identical in sound, I own the TO800 and Im still thinking to get the 808, call me crazy but there is something about the "classic" look and the built quality of the Ibanez that attracts me. The TO800 will last a long time if you take care of it, the 808 will survive a nuclear holocaust
The Behringer sounds ok but the main issue I have is they are made very cheaply. I have seen the soldering inside one and it is sloppy and jacks etc. are cheep. It will not last as long as a Tube Screamer.
Same here , except I’m using the 6505+ 112 combo. I gotta say this pedal has surprised me and I’ll be taking a closer look at some more things they offer. They did great with this one so I bet they have other hidden gems for sure
The difference is minimal, I love Behringers, people complaint about the plastic but heck, just buy two and you're still uinder $50 usd!! In fact, you can buy 3 or even 4 Behr's for the price of one single Boss, it's a no brainer. And I have yet to see a Behringer break.
Thank you for doing a real gear video. I can't stand it when some douche puts the gear in some huge mix with all this other garbage just to show off their playing instead of the gear! I hope Behringer gives you free stuff lol
Both are almost the same or even the same sounding pedals as I hear on this record :) In my opinion, if U want the sound of the original TS808, buy the TO800. Only difference is in the plastic housing and in the country where they are made :D Btw. I wander if the level of hiss on the highest gain setting is the same? Nice video, Bro. Keep it up! :)
Thanks For Watching! I've always been shocked at how the cheaper Tube Screamer Clones sound so good! Check out the Joyo JF-01 and the Nux OD-3... both pretty cheap clones that sound GREAT! Cheers - Ryan
Totally agreed. They sound almost exactly the same as their rivals, arguably better. I have the Behringer case/pedalboard with 6 pedals, DigitalMultiFX, GraphicEQ, HeavyDistortion, SuperFuzz, PowerOverdrive, and this one, the VintageTubeOverdrive. Pedals & pedalboard, £200. Absolutely amazing. One of my best buys ever. Same configuration with Boss/Ibanez pedals would have cost me around £600. The difference is £400, which is the price of an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plustop Pro, which i would rather prefer to spend my money on, and i actually did.
I've always found that Behringer's Clones have been well made! at least sonically... I typically like to get the "Original" version of a good pedal and then some clones. It's always fascinating to see how other companies interpret different pedals! I'll always tell the truth in that the TS808 sounds better than the clones (at least the ones that I have), however, it's not by much. It just has the right amount of character and it's just slightly "fuller". That being said... that doesn't always translate in recordings and you will sound just as good with the clones! Cheers -Ryan
what are you doing with yo life if you haven't grabbed this for $20??? wow, amazing playing bro. transients are smoother on TS, also TS has more low mid wooliness. I often turn the tone on that behringer down for kinda warm silky tone
Ibanez should lower the price of the tube screamer that way people consider paying a extra 20 dollars more for a pedal that last longer and also don't have to compete with others overdrive pedals at the 100 price range like the east river overdrive
Check out our Video Comparison between both the Joyo and the Behringer. I couldn't really answer that properly as my response would be that I prefer the Ibanez TS808. Cheers -Ryan
Definately don't sound the same to my ears. I'm no gear snob but the ibanez definately has more character. I had the TO800 and sold it. Excellent value for the money though.
and me the fool nearly paid 1000 dollar for a vintage ts808.hahahhahaha thank god i bought the behringer.i could buy 20 behringer and still can go and buy a guitar and an amp.
How so? It shows the guitar, pedals used in the video, amp head, cabinet, microphone, microphone preamp, interface, and computer. So the guitar and amp… then the recording signal chain. Cheers -Ryan
Huge difference between the two - Behringer sounds icepicky too bright - Not worth even 28 bucks The Ibanez sounds purrrfect, tho' - Not worth 180 bucks ...better off strategically punching a 30 dollar speaker with a pencil tip - God Bless Link Wray !
Same sound exactly but why wouldn't it be, it's the same circuitry.....I own the behringer and love it. And remember that in a live situation with a band, no way can you or your audience tell the difference.

I agree behringer sounds really good, but remember it is made out of plastic so you will have to be gentle when you stomp
not the same at all, has less of the much needed mids
@@kimseniorb Maybe that the omission of the Ibanez logo imparted mid tone suck?
@@exploitedboy216 You can't break it with your foot unless you are _really_ trying to.

Elder band
what are "front ends" Thanks !
I love all my Behringer Pedals! They are Spot On.
I’m a bit of a novice but use the overdrive distortion two in one thing it’s amazing prob going to buy this tube overdrive
great comparison,I keep a Beringer as a back up I've used it on stage and it kicked butt
Behringer is brighter which I like since Im mostly a country player. I like the " bite" it has. 25 bucks vrs 180 bucks. I certainly dont hear 155 dollars difference between the two
Looool true
True almost worth taking and swapping into a metal case with a better switch for longevity and still be cheaper then the Ibanez ts808
brighter as in the color of the green?
@@Jihadbearzwithgunz I was considering doing that
They're both equally good. I use the Beringer TO800 with Strymon Flint into valve amp , with ESP guitar. Sounds great.
Nice vid.... It appears that the TS808 has a slightly 'warmer' tone.
$$ savings in the pocket are the warmest....
Does warm mean more trebly or less trebly?
Thomas Catlin less
Behringer has better bass and mids
Always loved behringer. My first pedal was their tuner which cost me £17. Everyone always says they are bad because they’re made of plastic yet I’ve never heard of one breaking.
right? I would have to stomp on my Behringer pedals several times with the intent to destroy. Otherwise they're pretty rugged.
Just got the behringer. No difference in sound but an enormous difference in built quality. If you don't gig get the behringer
Or buy more than one
The Ibanez is in a heavy metal box for people who play live. The Behringer is in a plastic box for home use basically. The Behringer will last if you take care of it $19 at Sweetwater

the Behringer is an amazing pedal. sounds better than my Boss SD1. Takes a battery, which is something you never get on cheaper pedals
Good demo!!! I just bought 3 pedals from Behringer....Tube overdrive, phaser, vintage delay ( and some new cables)....and spent under 100 bucks. how did it work out for you , good choice ? Peace !
why would it not?
Thanks for making this vid its just what I needed to know.
I just got one for $25, I run it through my JCM 900 High Gain Dual Reverb 50w 4500 along with a Friedman Buxom Boost and it makes my amp sound 👌
Bought the 800 first and loved it. Then found a mint 808 for $40, but I still like the 800 more.
why do you like it more? only have the behringer. never owned a TS myself...

Behringer sounds even better, like the vintage ts808 from the 80´s

which is better this joyo vintage overdrive or behringer vintage tube overdrive

Behringer sounds better, less nasal and more transparent. You don't have to pay lots to get a great sound but if you want to go ahead lol
Ibanez is way better
I agree the Ibanez TS is the real deal. Quite alot better I believe..
TS is much better..
Worst led ever!
Big difference - newer one sounds better
The Ibanez is superior. No doubt. I was hoping to save money but, nah!
More much mids in the TS
