Great video, well made and well played mate. The graphics and info are spot on ,that all takes work and you have down a great job. I also like you are calm and not a try hard like most. 🙏🫡⛳️
Ah cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it. Delighted to hear that the hard work that goes into this are appreciated 👍🏻 It’s comments like this that helps me keep the channel going 💯 Thanks for watching mate 👍🏻
Sorry I never replied to you on this mate but thanks very much. Sorry to hear about the 20 years of hardship 😂 Hopefully the love of the game comes back to you ❤️🏌🏻♂️
It's amazing just how many golfers love to watch high handicap golf including myself I play of 14 but we all can relate to the struggles of golf all the same.keep the videos coming and thanks
Hi Derek, I think it’s because it makes others feel better about their own game 😂 But yes, also because most can hopefully relate. Everyone had to start somewhere with the game. Glad you’re enjoying the videos mate and congrats on your 14 handicap……maybe one day 💭
I agree. I have more bad days than good. 1 day I drive well and the rest of my game goes south. Other days I can’t drive for nuts but my irons work well. Nature of this game
Haha I can certainly relate to that. I don’t think I’ve ever had a single round where I was happy with all facets of my game. There’s always one part that will let ya down. But we convince ourselves that perfect round is just around the corner 😂
For every one of you there are 10 low handicapped golfers who hate the fact we are out there because we are apparently ruining their self entitled frat boy experience.
Don't worry about what anyone else thinks, you've paid the same green fee as everybody else, and that's why golf has the handicap system, so people of all abilities can play together. Thankfully in Ireland we don't seem to have an issue with Frat Boy culture on the course, very rarely would you see anyone drinking on the course, if ever.
😂 I was all over the course in those early holes so it was a realistic possibility 😂 Also, it was still fresh in my mind as a few weeks previously I did actually hit the wrong green 😂 I should have known it was the wrong green when I reached a par 5 in regulation 😂 The trials and tribulations of a High Handicapper 👍🏻
😂😂😂 Haha I think it was fresh in my mind as about a month previous, I did actually hit the wrong green 😂 I really should have known though because it was a green in regulation…..or so I thought 😂 Thanks for watching mate 👍🏻
Thanks a million for the sub, I really appreciate it 👍🏻 Glad to hear you enjoyed the video and I hope you continue to enjoy my channel 😀 Good luck with your golf game in 2024 ☘️
Gorgeous course!! Those 2 scratches at the end really hurt but otherwise seems like a good round. Love seeing those long putts drop! Keep showing us Americans those beautiful Irish courses!
Thanks mate. I was really impressed with the course, particularly the views. The scratches really hurt my score but I think I ran out of steam a little bit. Overall I played ok but a few bad holes killed my scorecard. Thanks for tuning in from the states 😀🇺🇸
Excellent video. I play off around the same as you and watching your round is really reminiscent of my own experiences on the course. Being a high handicapper our "just about ok" shots leave us with really difficult lies from all manner of odd places on the course. You seemed to play really well though, especially on the greens, and what a beautiful course!
Thanks Ian. I’m glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for sharing your thoughts. It’s always nice to hear that people find the content relatable, not that I’d wish my golfing struggles on anyone 😂 but I’m sure you know what I mean. Yes, we’re often out of position and dealing with tricky lies which just seems to make the holes that bit harder. But thanks, I thought for about 70% of the round I played quite well but a few holes let me down. Was happy with my chipping and putting overall. Thanks for watching Ian 👍🏻
speaking as an avid golfer from the United States, who usually shoots in the mid 90's, I can't imagine just how much effort this was to continually set up the camera on every shot and still concentrate on your game....keep these videos coming and my only recommendation for any future on course golf videos is when editing, if possible, display your yardage after hitting each shot.... this would give viewers a little better insight into your club selection.....thanks for taking the time to create this very interesting and entertaining golf video on a beautiful course !!!
Hi Gary, thanks a million for this comment. As you mentioned, it takes a lot of effort to put this type of video together including the editing afterwards etc. but honestly, it’s comments like yours that make it all worthwhile and helps keep the channel going 😃 Good feedback in terms of yardage and will see what I can do going forward. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Hi Brian, delighted to hear you’re enjoying the channel so far and thanks for leaving your helpful feedback. I’ll see what I can do in terms of yardages in future videos. Thanks for watching mate 👍🏻
From an ex Dublin golfer . I played the Wicklow g / course a few times as an 18 h / cap . You got the picture of the course spot on . I never scored well on it & even lost a six iron after a fit of petulance . My head always got in my way , my biggest problem . I did manage to get down to 13 at one stage , but finished up last year as a 29 . I got my head , eventually together , but medical problems set in . Vertigo , followed by balance & blackouts . I really do miss the game & would love to get out again . Golf really is a game for life . You sound a lot like Padraig Harrington , not a bad man to take after .
Hi Patrick, thanks for the comment. It’s a very tough course hence why I wasn’t too disappointed. So many blind shots. A great challenge though and beautiful views. Sorry to hear about the health issues. Golf is difficult enough without additional challenges. Hope you’re doing better now. It really is a game for life. I feel like I got into it a little later than I would have liked but hopefully I have decades ahead of me 😃 If only I played like Padraig as much as I sound like him 😂 Thanks for watching Patrick 👍🏻
Thanks mate, one of the few areas of my game I’m reasonably happy with 😂 And golf can be cruel at times so ya gotta celebrate the little victories when they come along 😂 Thanks for watching mate 👍🏻
Thanks a million mate. Putting is USUALLY one of the stronger aspects of my game. Delighted to hear that you took some learnings from it. Best of luck with the game 👍🏻
I’m currently mid edit of my latest episode so shouldn’t be much more than a week or so. The weather in Ireland has been abysmal so as soon as it improves the episodes should be a lot more regular 👍🏻
Thanks Gary, glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching mate. I agree. I thought the course was absolutely stunning. Can’t wait to go back. Will hopefully have another episode out soon 👍🏻
Hi Jamie! Happy New Year my friend! Have to say that’s one stunning golf course! The round you played just shows all the highs and lows of a typical round so it’s very relative to all of us! Must say 34 points on a tough course you have never played before I think is very commendable 👏👏 Look forward to the next round my friend 👍⛳️⛳️
Hi Stephen, thanks a million, and the same to you too 👍🏻 Yeah it was a beauty alright, I was very impressed. I was actually quite pleased with 34 points. Got unlucky with a few holes but overall I think I struck the ball well. Also, when I go back I’ll be able to use driver in a few holes as I know where I’m going now too 😂 Thanks for the positive feedback. Speak soon 👍🏻
7.02 -" miraculously I got close to the green. I just hope its the right green !! " We all do it mate. Your chipping around the green is decent, nice stroke. Good video, enjoyed.
Thanks Steve, glad you enjoyed the video mate. I’ve been working hard on my chipping this year, still a couple of loose ones but overall it’s come on a lot. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
The swings where you follow through with your shoulders tend to be great strikes. Don't "give up" on a swing halfway through, finish your swings! And as always, weight forward when you finish! Love the video, love the game. Great positive attitude out there.
Yeah I have an awful tendency to get all my weight on my right hand side, get stuck and swing from there 🤦🏻♂️ Glad you enjoyed the video mate, thanks for watching and leaving a positive comment 👍🏻
Watching from New Zealand. I have been playing for 7months now and come down to a 19.2 . Started with a terrible slice now have a hook lol . She’s a hard game . Enjoying your videos. BTW you definitely look to be on the improve.
Well done mate, that’s a very good progression already 👍🏻 I always flip between a slice and hook and back again 😂 Definitely a hard game 🤷🏻♂️ Glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos and thanks for watching 😁🇮🇪
As a high handicapper, I feel your pain here on a few of those shots, I use hole19 when i play and find it great for looking ahead on the course and for club selection. keep up the good work Jamie.
Thanks very much David. I use Hole 19. It’s a great app. Unfortunately I use my phone for filming so can’t access the app when making these videos. My plan is to upgrade my equipment soon to a dedicated camera so then at least I’ll be able to use my phone and Hole 19 for GPS once I do. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
You definitely should mate, we’re absolutely blessed for courses over here ☘️ I’ve only played abroad once so far, made it to Gleneagles last year and absolutely loved it 🏴 I’ve yet to play any in Wales but I’d love to do a tour myself 👍🏻
Brilliant video, Jamie, congratulations and thanks for sharing! You played some great golf out there on a wonderful course, especially scoring well on your earlier holes. I have a similar experience that there’s always a major drop off at some point (lost balls, two out of the bunker, fluffed shot) that adds a lot to the score. I guess thats why we are high handicappers! Anyway I will try to follow your lead and keep smiling!
Thanks a million John, appreciate the message 👍🏻 I always find I play about 66% of holes like a 15 handicapper but unfortunately I play the other 33% like a 35 handicapper 😂 It’s hard to be consistent over the 18 holes and stupid mistakes creep in. But now I’m just all about enjoying my time on the course, be it good or bad. Although I still keep telling myself I’ll get there some day 😂 the joys of a high handicapper eh? Thanks for watching John and sharing your thoughts 😀
I love your attitude towards the game, to me it doesn't matter what handicap you are, it's about enjoying it. I play off 9.4 and just love going for a round of golf most Saturday Mornings.
Thanks Jonathan. I’ve learned that’s what golf’s all about. Just enjoy yourself. You’ll have good days and bad days but there’s worse things you could be doing or worse places you could be than out on a beautiful golf course. Would love my handicap to improve eventually, but if it doesn’t, I’ll have had fun trying 👍🏻 Thanks for watching mate and congrats on the single digit handicap
Yeah I’ve actually had a few to be fair, not that you’d know 😂 Haven’t had one in a while though. We had a baby this year so wasn’t playing regularly enough for it to seem worthwhile but hoping to play more regularly next year so might look at it again 👍🏻
Cheers Gary, delighted you’re enjoying the videos 😃 commiserations on having a similar game to mine 😂 but I find there’s enough good shots there to convince myself that we can improve… well that’s how I justify it to myself anyway 😂 Thanks for watching mate 👍🏻
As always Jamie, an enjoyable watch, some excellent putts , striking the ball well too - one of these days a course somewhere is gonna get its ass kicked . Couree looks gorgeous with some tricky greens
Thanks Darren. I feel my game is moving in the right direction. Definitely striking the ball better than I ever have. Once I can get out consistently I’m hopeful of putting together a good card. Course was gorgeous. Thanks for watching as always 👍🏻
Thanks mate, much appreciated. No thankfully that’s one of the few misses I don’t have 😂 I used to duff and top the ball a lot when I first started but I’ve found a lighter grip and slower swing helps avoid this. My big problem is I have a two way miss and lots of times put myself out of the hole from the middle of the fairway usually thanks to a hook. Very frustrating but working on it. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
10:40....I jumped with you ha! Its great you put a little flag up to show the green location, and identify the club changes too.... Some of the big golf UA-camrs, could learn a thing or two from you Jamie....well done mate ;0)
Haha love to hear it mate 😂 Pars are still relatively infrequent affairs for me mate so gotta celebrate them when they come along 😂 And thanks for the great feedback. Nice to know the effort is appreciated 😃 My main goal when editing is to make it as easy as possible for the viewer to understand each shot and follow the round more closely 👍🏻
Nice to see a high handicapper putting their round up. Makes it easier to see what some of us are doing wrong. Your backswing looks ok but then your downswing is very steep and out to in. I struggle with the same problem. I "feel" like im not doing it, but i am. Thats why you see some shots going straight left on contact, because you catch it square on that path. Then other times you leave the face open and it goes right, so its very confusing until you step outside yourself and see it. Im confident if you watch plenty of your own footage you could probably get into the 15 handicap range pretty quickly like I am with a few swing tweaks.
Cheers mate. I’ve always had an out to in swing path, although it’s a lot less servers than when I first started. As you said, it’s very hard to change something you don’t really feel that you’re doing. It’s all a work in progress though. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
What a beautiful course, very similar to a course I played in England recently. As already mentioned your game is very similar to over 90% of golfers including mine, pleased you left the driver in the bag 😀 Keep up the great work and you’ve gained another follower. Shaun - Lancashire
Hi Shaun, firstly thanks for subscribing to my channel. I really appreciate it and I hope you enjoy the content 😄 Normally I would use driver but there were so many blind shots on that course, and I do have a big miss in me with driver, so I didn’t want to endanger my fellow golfers when hitting blind shots 😂 Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Welcome to the channel Russell, thanks for subscribing 😃 And thanks a million for the positive feedback, really appreciate it. And I completely agree, I was really impressed with the course. Views were incredible
Wow the views are amazing in Ireland and Scotland. Bucket list tour, for sure. We just got back here in the Mid-Atlantic U.S. Look at the video I just did for that "everything brown" feel in contrast to the Emerald Isle you've got going, LOL
Cheers mate. For a relatively small island we are absolutely blessed with great golf courses ☘️ I’ll definitely check out your video mate 👍🏻 thanks for watching
I don’t know how I’ve missed your videos up to now - really great honest content. I live close enough to this course and it’s a tough one! Just as a matter of interest how far are you getting with the hybrid?
Cheers Brian, glad you enjoyed the content 😃 I did find Wicklow quite tough but really enjoyable. Wonderful place to play golf. I get about 185 with my hybrid, when I hit it well 👍🏻
Really enjoying your videos. You play just like me and I am on 28. Hard to get under 100. I hope you can get down to a 20 and we can watch along the way.
Thanks mate, glad you’re enjoying them and thanks for watching them. Operation Sub 20 is very much on 💪🏻 I’m playing quite consistently at the moment so hopefully I don’t run out of time before the season ends. But we’ll have fun trying 👍🏻
Loved the video man. Always very relatable 😂 i see you didnt hit one driver. To hit around the 100 mark is still very impressive. Looking forward to the next vid and congrats on recently becoming a dad! 🎉
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it 😃 Yeah I just felt the course was a little tight and lots of blind shots so thought it would be quite dangerous for me to hit my driver 😂 Was concentrating on just tryna keep the ball straight and in play (which didn’t always work 😂). Wasn’t too disappointed with the 101. Very tough course and I lost a few balls to be fair. Overall I still think my game has improved. And thank you, I’m still over the moon 👶🏻
@@DiaryofaHighHandicapper no prob I watch all your videos I'm a member in corballis if you ever fancy a game and aoi fellow high handicapper 😂 out of action till the new year
Ah that’s great to hear. I genuinely really appreciate the people who follow the channel 👍🏻 I’ve yet to play Corballis so count me in 👌🏻 We can touch base when you’re back up and running 🏌🏻♂️🏌🏻♂️
As someone who just started playing this year at local courses here in New England all I can say is those greens were amazing. I constantly have to dodge geese dropping and leaves 😂 Great video btw just subscribed
They were absolutely unreal. Lightning quick and so smooth. Well done on taking up the game. I hope you enjoy it and wish you the best of luck with it. The game is hard enough without the added geese droppings so I don’t envy you 😂 Thanks a million for the sub. I really appreciate it and I hope you enjoy the channel 👍🏻
That is a beautiful course and considering you got caught out by some hidden traps, by not having played the course before, I though you did pretty well. I loved your reactions when you got those pars. It would be interesting to see you play it again and then compare your scores. You didn't seem to know some of the hole layouts and yardages? Have you thought of an app to show you, or do you use your phone to film. Thanks for the work you put into making these for us, we really enjoy them. (PS You still played that better than I would have done at the moment!)
Thanks Tom, really appreciate the kind words and glad you enjoyed the video. I too thought the course was absolutely beautiful. I don’t live too far away so will definitely head back for round 2 😄 Will hopefully shoot better because as you said, I struggled on a few holes to know where I was going. So many blind shots. Unfortunately I use my phone for filming so can’t use my GPS apps. Will probably upgrade to a dedicated camera soon so can go back to using my phone on the course then 👍🏻 Thanks for watching as always 🏌🏻♂️
Thanks David, glad you enjoyed it. I find I can probably play about 70% of the holes really well but 3 or 4 of them let me down. But we’ll keep plugging away 👍🏻
You’re already way better than me. One thing I’ll say we have in common is you seem to hit the ball pretty fast after addressing the ball for your final setup and maybe going too fast. When I take more time it isn’t a guarantee I’ll hit it better but the odds increase slightly. Anyway, please don’t take this as advice as I’m in no position to give it, just an observation from a worse golfer. Nice vid. 🤙🏼
Cheers mate, appreciate the feedback. I do agree with ya. I tend to swing very quickly after stepping up to the ball. Probably need to slow it down a bit more but I think I’m just afraid of overthinking the shot 😂 Glad you enjoyed the vid Joshua 👍🏻
@@DiaryofaHighHandicapper Love the content I just subscribed. Btw what irons are you playing. I'm also 28 handicap and I'm about to buy new irons but I can't firgure out which ones to buy.
Delighted to hear you like the content and thanks for subscribing, each sub makes such a massive difference to the channel 👍🏻 I bought the Callaway Rogues. I did a bit of research and went into a few shops and every single salesman said they’re the best suited to high handicappers starting off at a reasonable price. Not that I’m showing much improvement at the moment 😂
Are you not checking your card as you go round ? Hazards not shown ie bunkers ,streams & out of bounds ? Really great to watch your efforts as another high handicapper who is new to playing! Cheers 🍻
Hi Alex, normally I would use an App on my phone for distance and hazard info but when I make these videos I use my phone to record so slightly hamstrung at the moment when filming. For this video I only had the hole information such as distance, par and stroke index on my card so was essentially playing blind. Will be adding a GPS watch hopefully next year so that should solve my issue. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the content.
Much enjoyed I play of 26 been playing for about 6 yrs I’m 77 I have a love hate relationship with the ball mostly love though for the great game of golf
Glad you enjoyed it David. I also have a love hate relationship with golf 😂 Deep down I really do adore it but it doesn’t half drive me crazy. But if it’s easy we wouldn’t love it as much. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
I've only been playing properly for 6 months and consistently shoot 103 regardless of the day or course. I cannot translate my practice sessions onto the course. It probably is 99% mental. But I also don't understand why every club in my bag only goes 100 yards if I'm lucky. No change I ever make makes a difference.
Hi mate, to be honest, to consistently shoot 103 after only 6 months is very impressive. Breaking 100 is the first big milestone for most golfers and you're already on the cusp of that. So I wouldn't be too hard on yourself. I often struggle with taking my range practice out on the course but I find the biggest issue is being too nervous and stiff. Once I learned to relax on the course, stay nice and loose and swing smooth, it started to mirror my range swing. I still struggle myself but the more tense you get the worse you swing.
Great fun fab courses great photography ! ( Tip check for sloping horizons on some shots!) use spirit level for photography ! Otherwise fab - love your videos !
Yeah it’s a beauty alright. Looking forward to going back to play it again. Glad you enjoyed the video mate. I do have a tendency to play quick, I don’t take much time over the ball at all. Might need to relax a little bit more. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
This is a course that has gone under the radar for my research into Irish courses. Looks good though, Have you plaed Woodenbridge or St Margarets? They are both on the list to play when I next on that side of Ireland
Yeah it was a beautiful course. Location is stunning. No I haven’t but they’re both regarded as top courses. I’d imagine I’ll feature Woodenbridge on the channel sooner rather than later as it’s in Wicklow also 👍🏻
Well that was thoroughly enjoyable. I’m a bit higher than you and reckon some of those 1 putts would have been 2 easily for me. 34, while being 32 through 14 and going 11 over on the last 4 is a pretty good score. Something about seeing nice golf without all the hoopla and seeing the duffs and chips. Course management was solid.
Thanks James, glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻 Yeah I was pretty happy with the score considering how I started and finished. But that sums up my game really. I played holes 5-14 quite well, scoring 26 points - an average of 2.6 per hole for 10 holes. If I I did that for 18 it would be 47 points 😂 Just couldn’t maintain it. But that’s golf, particularly high handicap golf. The bad holes ruin any chance of a really good score. Thanks for watching mate and the positive feedback 👍🏻
First time seeing your video. Fantastic course, and well played. Nothing really wrong with your game.....you certainly wouldn’t hold up anyone behind you haha! You play fast,... maybe take a little more time with your shots and putting? But maybe that’s your rhythm. All-in -all, well done sir. You are very lucky to have access to such an amazing course and I assume the others in Ireland. Maybe I’ll get there some day but for now I’ll just imagine. Again, very enjoyable and fun video. Cheers mate, from Canada 🇨🇦
Thanks very much mate, appreciate the positive feedback 😃 We’re absolutely blessed for courses here on what is a relatively small island ☘️ Partly why I’m so addicted to the game. Hopefully you’ll get here one day and experience them for yoursel. Although I believe the courses aren’t too bad in Canada either 😁 Glad you enjoyed the video mate 👍🏻 P.s. I did an erasmus in Canada when I was 19 so it holds a special place in my heart so always good to hear from the Canadians 🇨🇦🍁
Enjoyable video, am a galway man playing off 11, first of your videos I've seen but I would agree with this comment. Maybe slow down a dad and go through the same process every time. Best of luck
Thanks Paul, glad you enjoyed the video. I do find I probably play slightly quicker on camera as I try to keep up with pace of play while also having to set up a camera on every shot. Wouldn’t normally play as quick in rounds off camera but I definitely do need a pre shot routine that I can repeat. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Cheers mate 👍🏻 It was a tough course and I thought I played reasonably well so not too worried about the score. Just looked up Fairmont St. Andrews there. Looks superb 👌🏻
Hi mate, thanks a million. Really appreciate the feedback. I just use my iPhone 14 Pro and the rode wireless go II. Can’t recommend the mic set up enough 👍🏻 Thanks for watching mate 👍🏻
Loved the video, very new to golf myself. Shot a 62 on 9 holes yesterday 😂 This is probably a very basic question I should know the answer to, but what scoring system are you using to get the ‘points’ on each hole? I like the idea of getting something on a double/triple bogey! Most of the time I enjoy the golf anyway but it’s a little disheartening to have nothing really to show at the end. Think this score system could help!!
Hi Matt, glad you enjoyed the video 😄 And well done on getting yourself involved in golf, I know how daunting it can be at the start but I’ve found it’s a great way to spend a few hours and meet new people. It’s the Stableford Scoring System. I think it’s the most popular scoring system Ireland and the UK and it’s a great system, particularly for beginners because as you mentioned, you can still score points on doubles and triples etc. The basic scoring system (for a scratch golfer) is 1 for Bogey, 2 for Par, 3 for birdie and so on. You get 0 for a double bogey. So for an 18 handicap let’s say, a Par 3 becomes a Par 4 as they have an extra shot on each hole. If they get a 4, they get 2 points. Despite getting a bogey in real terms, they’ve scored a Net Par using their handicap hence the 2 points. It can take a little bit of time to get used to but there’s a great app called Hole 19 that I’d recommend using while you get the hang of it. You simply type in the course, the coloured tees and your handicap, and then when you record each score, it will automatically work out how many points you scored on each hole. Hope that helps mate and thanks for watching 👍🏻
Great video, well made and well played mate.
The graphics and info are spot on ,that all takes work and you have down a great job.

Yes, we’re often out of position and dealing with tricky lies which just seems to make the holes that bit harder. But thanks, I thought for about 70% of the round I played quite well but a few holes let me down. Was happy with my chipping and putting overall. Thanks for watching Ian 👍🏻

Golf courses on the coasts of Ireland and the UK are absolutely stunning. One of these days I’ll get to golf there.
We’re absolutely blessed ☘️ I hope to see you here some day 👍🏻
From an ex Dublin golfer .
I feel like I got into it a little later than I would have liked but hopefully I have decades ahead of me 😃 If only I played like Padraig as much as I sound like him 😂
Thanks for watching Patrick 👍🏻
I don’t have to watch this video because I know what a 28 handicap game looks like. FIRST HAND!
My condolences 😂
lol even me, a 9 year old laughed at that
Same man I got my handicap a while ago and was told it would just shoot down but it’s proving harder than expected
Yep, looks like the same shit I get int
First hand you gotta position your speed
I live in Dublin too. So great getting to see nearby courses before going to play them!
That’s great to hear mate 👍🏻
the celebration on the 14th is what we all play golf for .... top putting sir 😎
Thanks mate, one of the few areas of my game I’m reasonably happy with 😂 And golf can be cruel at times so ya gotta celebrate the little victories when they come along 😂
Thanks for watching mate 👍🏻
Some great putts there. Love the calmness of your game, I will deffo have some takeaways from this video as a player new to golf
Thanks a million mate. Putting is USUALLY one of the stronger aspects of my game.
Delighted to hear that you took some learnings from it. Best of luck with the game 👍🏻
Great video and well played - Some really fantastic shots in the round.
Thanks mate. Definitely felt like I was hitting the ball well 👍🏻
@@DiaryofaHighHandicapperwhen are you back ?
I’m currently mid edit of my latest episode so shouldn’t be much more than a week or so. The weather in Ireland has been abysmal so as soon as it improves the episodes should be a lot more regular 👍🏻
"What a double bogey".....😅
I can so relate to this!!
Gotta respect your limitations my man 😂
@@DiaryofaHighHandicapper Absolutely! If I ever hole a putt from anything more than 15 feet, my initial reaction is "I don't believe it!" :)
Same, but more life 10 feet for me 😂
Stunning course and beautiful views. Really enjoyed the video mate. Keep them coming.
Thanks Gary, glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching mate. I agree. I thought the course was absolutely stunning. Can’t wait to go back. Will hopefully have another episode out soon 👍🏻
Keep it up mate. Some good shots.
Thanks for the positivity mate 👍🏻
Hi Jamie! Happy New Year my friend! Have to say that’s one stunning golf course! The round you played just shows all the highs and lows of a typical round so it’s very relative to all of us! Must say 34 points on a tough course you have never played before I think is very commendable 👏👏
Look forward to the next round my friend 👍⛳️⛳️
That is a beautiful course! Absolutely breathtaking.
I thought exactly the same Matthew 😃
What a golf course,great honest video,love it👏👏
Cheers Lee, glad you enjoyed it. I absolutely loved the course 😍
Beautiful course. Enjoyed the video.
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Great video, makes a change from watching the usual low handicap footage, well produced too! Liked & subscribed.
Thanks a million mate, much appreciated 👍🏻 Glad you enjoyed it
Those greens are crazy quick
Definitely the quickest I’ve ever played on ⚡️
Finally someone I can relate to
Glad to be of service 🫡
Thanks for watching mate 👍🏻
The swings where you follow through with your shoulders tend to be great strikes. Don't "give up" on a swing halfway through, finish your swings! And as always, weight forward when you finish! Love the video, love the game. Great positive attitude out there.
Yeah I have an awful tendency to get all my weight on my right hand side, get stuck and swing from there 🤦🏻♂️
Glad you enjoyed the video mate, thanks for watching and leaving a positive comment 👍🏻
I am so shite at golf after many years. You look like a pga pro to me tbh mate, well played!
Haha cheers mate, appreciate that 👍🏻
1st time watching channel and thoroughly enjoyed it, great video
Thanks Robert. Glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully you enjoy some of my other videos 👍🏻
I’m moving to Wicklow in the next few weeks. Really excited to play this beautiful course and join the club!
Congrats mate, some cracking courses dotted around Wicklow and this is a particular highlight so I’m sure you’ll love the move 👍🏻
Beautiful course and excellent videography

Watching from New Zealand. I have been playing for 7months now and come down to a 19.2 . Started with a terrible slice now have a hook lol . She’s a hard game . Enjoying your videos.
BTW you definitely look to be on the improve.
Well done mate, that’s a very good progression already 👍🏻 I always flip between a slice and hook and back again 😂 Definitely a hard game 🤷🏻♂️ Glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos and thanks for watching 😁🇮🇪
SO enjoyed this! Thanks. 👍
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it 😃 Thanks for watching 👍🏻
What a beautiful scenery! Really enjoyed watching it. Love to play in Ireland soon.
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it. It really is a spectacular course 👍🏻
Subscribed after that first hole. Great stuff
Haha cheers mate, really appreciate the sub 👍🏻 Glad you enjoyed it 😁
As a high handicapper, I feel your pain here on a few of those shots, I use hole19 when i play and find it great for looking ahead on the course and for club selection. keep up the good work Jamie.
Really enjoyed that, the one liners are funny given the accent. Will subscribe for more!
Glad you enjoyed it mate and thanks for the sub, much appreciated 👍🏻🇮🇪
@ 3:40, what a view, and no wind, wow!
Yeah it was absolutely beautiful. I think that’s why I 4 putted here…just wanted to enjoy the view for longer 😂
This is real golf. Well played buddy, your putting is pretty good!
Cheers Rob, much appreciated 👍🏻 My putting is usually pretty solid, just a shame about the rest 😂 Thanks for watching mate 👍🏻
@@DiaryofaHighHandicapper I'm from Wales and was lucky enough to go on a mini golf tour in Scotland 2 years ago. Next I'd like to go to Ireland.
You definitely should mate, we’re absolutely blessed for courses over here ☘️
I’ve only played abroad once so far, made it to Gleneagles last year and absolutely loved it 🏴 I’ve yet to play any in Wales but I’d love to do a tour myself 👍🏻
This could be any one of my rounds - getting excited for a double bogey...thats so me...Cheers from Texas!
Haha glad you could relate mate. Thanks for watching 👍🏻🇮🇪
What a beautiful course ❤
I thought so too 😀
I love your attitude towards the game, to me it doesn't matter what handicap you are, it's about enjoying it.
Would love my handicap to improve eventually, but if it doesn’t, I’ll have had fun trying 👍🏻
Thanks for watching mate and congrats on the single digit handicap
@@DiaryofaHighHandicapper thank you. Have you tried having golf lessons
Yeah I’ve actually had a few to be fair, not that you’d know 😂 Haven’t had one in a while though. We had a baby this year so wasn’t playing regularly enough for it to seem worthwhile but hoping to play more regularly next year so might look at it again 👍🏻
@@DiaryofaHighHandicapper oh cool, congratulations on the baby. Keep at it, I'm sure you will improve.

Good vid, well made. For a high handicapper, you don't duff much at all! I play of 21 and duff it loads.
Haha love to hear it mate 😂 Pars are still relatively infrequent affairs for me mate so gotta celebrate them when they come along 😂
And thanks for the great feedback. Nice to know the effort is appreciated 😃 My main goal when editing is to make it as easy as possible for the viewer to understand each shot and follow the round more closely 👍🏻
The celebration on the 14th is so genuine 🤣 what a putt though 👍
Gotta celebrate the little wins properly mate, they don’t come around too often 😂

I would not want to play you in a match even with my 21 handicap. Great video! You displayed a really solid putting stroke,
Thanks Paul, glad you enjoyed the video. My putting is usually one of the few areas of my game that I’m generally happy with 😂 Thanks for watching 👍🏻
As already mentioned your game is very similar to over 90% of golfers including mine, pleased you left the driver in the bag 😀
Keep up the great work and you’ve gained another follower.
Shaun - Lancashire
Hi Shaun, firstly thanks for subscribing to my channel. I really appreciate it and I hope you enjoy the content 😄
Normally I would use driver but there were so many blind shots on that course, and I do have a big miss in me with driver, so I didn’t want to endanger my fellow golfers when hitting blind shots 😂

Will probably upgrade to a dedicated camera soon so can go back to using my phone on the course then 👍🏻
Thanks for watching as always 🏌🏻♂️
Really good video. You deserve to be much lower than 28! Great course.
Your putting game is incredible
Cheers mate, definitely one of my better performances on the greens. Greens were nice and quick too
@@DiaryofaHighHandicapper Love the content I just subscribed. Btw what irons are you playing. I'm also 28 handicap and I'm about to buy new irons but I can't firgure out which ones to buy.
Delighted to hear you like the content and thanks for subscribing, each sub makes such a massive difference to the channel 👍🏻
I bought the Callaway Rogues. I did a bit of research and went into a few shops and every single salesman said they’re the best suited to high handicappers starting off at a reasonable price. Not that I’m showing much improvement at the moment 😂
State of this course really was immaculate.
Absolutely top notch 💯
Putting was on fire. Especially with the fast greens.
Cheers. Besides the four putt 😂 I felt the putting went quite well. Greens were lightning quick. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
I used to be 19, slipped to 28 as i get older. My last round had an 8, 2x7's but the rest added up to 71. So a 93 and 21 over.
Sounds like a very solid round mate 👍🏻
great game, very positive too, definitely would have taken a gimme on the drain at 10th hole!
Thanks mate. Maybe if the cameras weren’t rolling I may have been a bit more generous to myself 🤫 Thanks for watching 👍🏻
@@DiaryofaHighHandicapper I appreciate it. The issue I have is I am just not improving.
Keep the faith mate 👍🏻 You’ll get there. Just try to enjoy it

Thank you for watching 👍🏻
Hi. Just some useful tip, you have a in to out motion on your backswing. You need to reverse that to stop going left.
Cheers mate, I have a horrible tendency to get the club too far on the inside in the back swing. Finding it tricky to fix 👍🏻
What a course, lucky so and so. Great video, you seem to rush your shots at times , no waggle or practice swing. Well played though.👍🏻
Thanks James, glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
Yeah I was pretty happy with the score considering how I started and finished.
Although I believe the courses aren’t too bad in Canada either 😁 Glad you enjoyed the video mate 👍🏻
*a tad
Thanks Paul, glad you enjoyed the video. I do find I probably play slightly quicker on camera as I try to keep up with pace of play while also having to set up a camera on every shot. Wouldn’t normally play as quick in rounds off camera but I definitely do need a pre shot routine that I can repeat. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
great effort - could almost have been me, I played 103 at Fairmont St.Andrews last summer, which is a similar course.
Cheers mate 👍🏻 It was a tough course and I thought I played reasonably well so not too worried about the score. Just looked up Fairmont St. Andrews there. Looks superb 👌🏻

Thanks Gordon. I’ve learnt to appreciate it’s a tough, tough game and you gotta take the rough with the smooth 👍🏻
I'm sure majority of the comments are this but holy heck what a gorgeous course 🙌
Can also substitute in difficult, hard, tough for the word gorgeous above 😅
Absolutely incredible course but definitely one of the hardest I’ve ever played 👍🏻
First time watching, the four putt on 2 had me gripped
Gotta hook the viewer in early my man 😂
Loved the video, very new to golf myself. Shot a 62 on 9 holes yesterday 😂
This is probably a very basic question I should know the answer to, but what scoring system are you using to get the ‘points’ on each hole?
Good to see some actual bad golf. Well in mate you crush that hybrid
It wasn’t ALL bad was it? 😂😂 Cheers mate, thanks for watching 👍🏻
