    Are Persian limes more similar to normal lemons??? ( I saw they are yellow in the bottle you showed ) here in the states limes are green, so that confused me.
    So should I use a normal yellow lemon?

    • @HenrysHowTos
      @HenrysHowTos  9 років тому +1

      The Persian ones are very sour, that's the main difference. But feel free to use regular lime juice :)

    • @jzeus9842
      @jzeus9842 6 років тому +1

      persian lime is a triploid cross of lime, lemon and key lime. it has a stronger acidic taste and the color is between green and yellow. also he may be using a commercial brand, which may have food coloring added

      @Chelz12 4 роки тому

      Lemons originated in persia region. That might answer which lemons are the real deal.

    I'd skip the garlic powder! I'd also seed the tomatoes and the cucumbers so the salad doesn't get soggy!

  • @Camscrub

    How far in advance can this be prepared?

    • @zahraashari4331
      @zahraashari4331 4 роки тому +1

      Not much.
      The cucumber lose its texture and becomes a little bit soft. Or maybe that's because I peel the cucumber and chop it fine. But if you're ok with a little bit softer cucumber you can make it one day in advance.

  • @violaa6652
    @violaa6652 5 років тому

    I made it and it taste like there is too much onion. I had to double tomatoes to mellow the flavor. It doesn’t taste the same in Persian restaurants. I don’t think they use that much onion

    • @HenrysHowTos
      @HenrysHowTos  5 років тому +1

      Hi Viola, personally I serve it this exact same way in my restaurant for the past 6 years, one of the tricks we use is to peel the onions and leave them in the fridge at least 1 day, this reduces its intensity. I hope this helps you :)

    • @zahraashari4331
      @zahraashari4331 4 роки тому +1

      You can make it the way you desire.
      I'm Iranian and I make it with much less onion and without fresh mint. That's the way I prefer it.
      You can change it to your own tasting.

    There are some very generous comments on your cooking , they must be friends and family. It's a typical tossed salad. Self Trained Executive chef? That means you head a large team of chefs in a large hotel or Institution , what's the name? I almost had tears in my eyes the way you scrape the blade of your knife cintinuously acroos your board. That's why it is blunt friend.
    Your cutting board is messy and your idea of a teaspoon measurement is quite funny. All in all a very amusing video to show apprentice chefs who will learn a lot from watching it. Thankyou , fantastic dish Chef.

    Hny, no need to waste so much food! There is nothing wrong with that portion you discarded. Maybe a bit off the tip of cucumber and remove the part of the tomato where the vine held it.. 🤷🏻‍♀️
