Im doing a 90 day water, tea and seamoss tea fast and your channel has become my favorite alkaline cooking channel. Your presentation is so satisfying and not complex in anyway, thank you for bringing your creativity to this platform. I cant stand soggy wild rice either lol
You're welcome. 90 days??? I'll be so angry with world 😅🤣 I love food too much and get grumpy if I fast for more than 2 weeks. You are so brave 💪🏿 I really do envy you. You are helping me put together an alkaline meal plan for my friend to heal her before she has chemo scheduled next month. Hoping we can heal her before she goes in for treatment! 🙏🏻💜🙏🏻 Thank you very much for this channel! Your production is impeccable! Also, what is the name of this song? 🎶
Hey Amy, the title of the song is "Spring Colour" and it's by Cospe. Yes, the word color is spelled Colour (British spelling). A few people have complained about it, but I feel it's not for everyone. I love it! I'm so sorry to hear about your friend and I hope they get better soonest. I'll keep the videos/recipes coming and I hope they'll find my recipes helpful. Please extend my well wishes to your friend. Thank you for letting me know.
Seamoss and soursop Edit, make sure you get the real seamoss not the factory one laced with salt, it's sun-dried and looks thin almost like rice/vermicelli noodles
Sometimes I like to cook it with a bit of vegetable broth a dab of olive oil and pink salt. Soo good. Thanks for teaching me without a rice cooker :) love your channel
Great video. Thank you for sharing this. Really great editing, simple to follow and the rice ACTUALLY looks perfect! not gloopy and clumpy. Much appreciated!
Thank you for the instruction. I really appreciate your time and effort teaching those who seek knowledge. I'm new to cooking rice and for some reason, find it intimidating but your calm video has given me courage that I won't ruin my cookware.

I'm glad you like them. The serving bowl can be found at Target. They sell them in different colors. I love them and bought a ton of them. I believe it's called Project 62 stoneware. The larger bowl was from Wayfair. I can't recall the name off the top of my head. Search for 10 inch wide bowls. I hope this helped. Thanks for watching too.

Thank you so much! I hope my video helps you achieve the texture you need. Yeah, it can be challenging to get wild rice right. Let me know how it goes.
Thank you for sharing the rice of my culture! However we do enjoy boiling our rice without soaking it (the texture is part of the pleasure of eating it). I recently started ordering my rice online. Who is your supplier?
Hey Rick! Thanks for the info. I love the texture. Very unique 👌🏿 I can't recall if I bought this on Amazon or at Whole Foods. I made this video a while back. Yeah, you can get great quality wild rice online too.
0:55 More expensive that white or brown rice? Based on this nutritional table, it should be more expensive than meat! I still do remember the last time I bought wild rice... Had I known this list though, maybe I wouldn't and would instead try add it to my regular diet.
I buy it from Amazon or at Whole Foods. Lundberg is Organic and it's Wild Rice. I'm not referring to the Wild Rice blend. Buy the all black, long grain wild rice in an orange pack. As long as it has that green USDA (not black logo) Organic logo, it's good. You know what, I'll add a link in the description later tonight. *I'm not affiliated with Lundberg.
Great! But what if I cook in the rice cooker would it be the same texture? since rice cooker cooked faster rather than pan? By the way new subscriber here 😊
Hi, you definitely can cook wild rice in a rice cooker, but a pressure cooker would do a better job and also give you a better texture. Rice Cooker: wash your wild rice. Pour it into your rice cooker. Add 2 and a half cups of water, some salt to taste, and cook for 50 mins. You can also go with 2 cups of water to 1 cup rice for 40 mins... that would yield a slightly firmer texture. I hope this helps. Thanks a lot for watching and thank you for subscribing 🙏🏿

🤣😅 No time at all for that! I hear you loud and clear. Soaking it is the norm, but... your kitchen, your rules right? I appreciate your support. More awesome videos in the pipeline.
You can soak it anywhere from 6 to 24 hours. I never soak mine, and it comes out even better. What I do is bring it to a boil for 10 minutes, then let it simmer for 35 to 45 mins. You can let it simmer even longer than that if need be. I know you're getting ready to cook it, so I'll be on standby if you have more questions. Reach out anytime.

Can you eat this rice daily as replacement to white rice?
@Patrick Musgrove if you can eat white rice 🍚 everyday, I don't see why you can't eat wild rice daily. I use the other grains for variety.

do u recommend microwaving?
microwaving is bad 1000% It kills off your minerals and nutrients in your food.

Does wild rice stick to the sides of pot after cooking?
Unlike other types of rice, wild rice almost never sticks to the sides of the pot. It may stick if it's overcooked or when the heat is too high.
That's easy 😎👍🏿👍🏿
