The integrated comp absolutely is functional. I also have the regular XL and even using the same grip module on both slides the macro slide shoots flatter.
I mean, realistically, I find my P365X setup to be very controllable already. So I may not feel as much of an effect from a compensated slide, we will have to wait and see. I haven't seen anyone say it doesn't work, but I do see experienced shooters saying the amount of benefit is a tad lower than your standard comp.
I have the G19 .5 and a G26.3. I like them both but I recently switched to the X Macro base model with Holosun red dot. It has the 3.7 in barrel w/o compensator and the interchangeable backstraps that made all the difference for me in the grip. It sits better in my hand and the trigger allows for quick follow up shots. The grip angle on the G19 causes my finger to drag the bottom of the guard when I squeeze the trigger and I push left a lot. Glocks are great guns and you can't go wrong with them. However, they aren't innovating like many of the other striker fired producers. I like the X Macro and am happy I went with the base model at$649 vs $800. I was also able to get 3 additional mags from Sig as a promotional offer so that was a plus. Any major mfr is going to sell you a good product. Buy what you shoot well and can afford , carry it constantly and shoot/train as much as you can.
I just saw this at Brownells. I think I want it! I had just qualified on an M17 with my National Guard unit and wanted a Sig that was easier to conceal carry.
I actually started using this gun on duty as a security guard once i found a nice retention holster for it. I Started with a glock 45 gen 5 but switched out for the xmacro. I've had it for almost 2 years and i love everything about it. Slapped a holosun red dot on it and i take it out to shoot every week. I've only ever had 1-2 ejection jam issues from me neglecting to clean it lol but other than that I've shot a little more than 2k rounds through it without issue. 👍
I bought this gun for carry, moving away from the 320 which Is now my go to Bad thing gun. I can say with complete certainty that it shoots and runs like a dream. It's the perfect size for a carry gun, being big enough for accurate and comfortable shooting, yet small enough for great concealment, even on a slim person like myself. Also the capacity cannot be beat, and the comp definitely makes it feel like you're shooting a much heavier gun. I have had a total of one malfunction amidst the almost 1000 rounds I've put through it, and It was an ammo issue (shooting reloads). I haven't cleaned it yet, and its still very smooth. For its purpose, which is carry, I gladly give it a 9/10.
