I got so caught up in getting it right that the second I pressed record I had the ultra brainfart and did the exact opposite lmao. At least I was consistent... Right? Uh... - 9:17 I suggested people didn't like Alastor's first redesign because of their attachment to the original. What I meant is that all my previous designs sucked so people didn't like them by default BUT this attachment would explain why he was MOST disliked. So yeah, it wasn't soley because of the original being a favourite - I'm well aware that the colour palette was pretty gross. I'll possibly update this pinned comment if theres any other points that get mentioned but for now, thank you for being patient and responding to this video so positively! I look forward to making less ego-infused in future :)
More because how terribly the green looked just didn't fit his character a character like alastor with his over all persona fits better with warmer colors green will convey someone who is more reserved and elegant and alastor is way more in your face when your attention is not on charlie it's on him plus green clashed with red horribly
The funny thing about Angel Dust’s character design is the fact that Vivzie stated she wanted to make the least sexy character possible and still have people be attracted to it. And as we all know, she somehow succeeded.

Wow, I really loved this! As an animator, I had a huge sigh of relief after seeing the new designs! These are so much cleaner looking and their proportions are perfect for smoother animation, absolutely love this! Speaking of the designs without animation in mind, I think these designs fit their personalities so well, and Alastor's face was incredibly scary! And I love how you kept their time period in mind! As for the fandom, I think this fandom is really cutthroat because unlike your average cartoon, this was more of a passion project, made by a smaller team. So the fandom will feel more attached to this show, it doesn't feel corporate and there is a clear face behind the project, vivziepop. But this still doesn't mean that vivziepop is immune to criticism, in fact, if this is a passion project she should be getting more constructive criticism if anything, because she is more likely to take the criticism than a corporation, and we want her to succeed! I think there is a negative attachment to criticism for whatever reason, like criticism is a jab at the creator, but it's the opposite! It's meant to help the creator, so as the viewers, even if we think the criticism isn't the best, let's not attack anyone, because criticism is still meant to help, not hurt! And on another note, I hope you find this comment, because it looks like you're getting lots of hate, and I think that's pretty uncalled for! You critiqued vivziepop, so instead of us hating, we should critique your videos, help not hurt! :)
Fellow animator here, I think the fandom hates them because they are attached to the original ones, but I, as someone who is not really a fan, when I watched the pilot, my head hurt from all the red and loudness and all. I really like how these have their own distinct color scheme and I like how she did Alastair, he looks fucking creepy but in a way where you dont really know why.
I really REALLY don’t like how people think that critique is a form of hate nowadays. Critique can be many things, spite, kindness, passion, all of that, and it really sucks that people focus on the latter.
There are too many people who say they're offering criticism when really they're just being mean. There was even a couple on UA-cam that actually made fun of another artist's artwork on a Twitch live stream. That's why people nowadays take critiques as personal attacks. Even myself. If someone were to point out the flaws of something I've worked really hard on, I immediately assumed that I failed and abandon the project. It's hard to tell who is genuinely trying to help and those who are being hateful.
Yeah but some people just downright insult the show. This video is fine but some other videos say stuff like "four yos could draw this" and stuff like that
Your alastor design looks so friendly but has that eerie feeling that isn't immediately noticable but the more you look at him the less friendly he feels and I think that's perfection
@Ocean Blue well, he kinda hides it. Alastor has that "I'll smile and tell you terrible things, but sugar coat it and act like it's the most normal things in the world making you feel less uncomfortable" type of vibe.

just one issue- alastor’s hair covers his forehead to hide the X that’s there. the X (probably) indicates how he died. it isn’t just some emo hairstyle.
@@doesntexist404 in hazbin hotel, the X indicates how the character died. so in people's theories, vaggie could be shot through the eye and for alastor through the head. his X is not really visible unless you pause at the right time. in the last few minutes of the pilot where alastor takes down sir pentious, remember the part where he smiles and everyone else just stares at him? you can see the X on his forehead, hope this helped ^^
i was one of the people that really disliked your last redesigns but i'm happy to say you completely made up for it. i think drawing the characters in your actual style added a lot and i loved the way you did charlie's outfit. if i'm being honest i never thought you'd sell me on alastor wearing more muted colors but i absolutely adored the sepia color scheme paired with the unsettling face, i think it adds a lot and makes him seem scary without trying too hard. i also surprisingly liked vaggie's blue color scheme, especially since it makes her appear more goth, and your angel design was also very good. all in all this video completely made up for the other one and that's rly good cause i love your content and didn't like the bad taste in my mouth the other video gave me

Omg when I saw the first redesign it looked like she forced herself to try to copy Hazbin hotels style and it looked really stiff and weird..... but I’m *really glad* she used her own style and made it look reali interesting and lively *it is b e a u t I f u l.*
It seems more diverse, I agree with the “they don’t need to be red to be intimidating” thing, I’d see red as trying to blend in, but trying to stand out also gives the character confidence and shows that they don’t need to blend in with the environment/people. I’ll keep that in mind when I’m making my own characters, that colours really say something.
I agree with that sentence I have a character that is is most cool colors and I try to make him intimidating(although I believe I failed at making him intimidating) The only red that I use is in his tie.

The OG design is only scary when he's made to be, in which I am not shitting on Vivzie for because I get that's part of the design for him and part of the whole animation style and in ways apart of his character, but jeez. And, most important of all...HE LOOKS LIKE A DEER! I HAD TO HAVE MY FRIEND CONFIRM FOR ME THAT HE WAS A DEER BECAUSE HIS DESIGN AND THAT ANIMAL MAKE NO SENSE WHEN COMBINED. A lot of your points actually do a great job explaining why I've only ever watched the Hazbin Hotel pilot *once.* I watch other peoples' music videos far more frequently. The pilot was hard for me to watch, even though in all honesty I love Alastor and Angel Dust (which one's actually my favorite changes daily). Your suggestions and comments regarding silhouette and color palette are extremely valuable to me for when I get around to the final design of my animated "Personality Menagerie" series. Many of my characters do have unique silhouettes (at least, they ought to, since they're supposed to be half- or fully-animalistic and not all the same animal either), and I was already planning on giving them all different color accents (ultimately, different nail polish colors so that when I'm cosplaying as them and I'm reaching in front of a camera people will know whose hands those are supposed to be), but I hadn't really thought about how important the differences in color palette could be. Now I know that when I get around to the Great Outfit Update for the characters I've already released and will be releasing relatively soon before I can make the new outfit, I should make sure their colors - while parallelling each other to an extent since they're supposed to all be aspects of one person's personality, hence the name - should also be different from each other. Same skin tone or close enough, same hair color or close enough, same eye color or close enough, _shake up the outfits and hairstyles in a big way._

The only critique I have for these designs is Vaggie's hair. Like, how in the world would that hair work from a side view? Though, the Alastor redesign looks SICK!! I love it. Makes him genuinely creepy instead of hot topic.

I LOVE Alastor's design. I totally prefer this one is the sense that he looks SO different from the rest of the characters, like a "different breed" of demon, which i feel suits his character so much. As he is normally, he looks cool, but also blends into the red sea of background much too easily. And now the ears and antlers fit better, before i hadn't even noticed them.
yes most of your points are indeed valid and the antlers do indeed fit better and are far more noticeable but the old design was more to my liking personally.
Also if you think about animals in nature usually the only ones th hat are brightly colored and flashy are prey animals that may or may not be poisonous, although the environment being as flaming asshole red as he is does punch a hole in this theory
@@behemoth_5152 I don't really think it fits Allistor as much as the original, and she kind of went all in with that deer aspect and that's just not him. It was a part of how he died but it definitely was not a big a part of his life overall in the grand scheme of things.

Now that I think of this again, there is honestly nothing that makes the characters special between each other. The four main characters are all skinny, mega tall and with very similar hue color palette, not mentioning that their character design should be also considering a difference between their silhouette. Anwyays, as a hazbin fan since 2018, i must confess that I've redesigned myself some parts of the characters, such as the proportions in Alastor's body, the hairstyle in Charlie and the legs of both Vaggie and Angel. It is a good video for this type of explanation; keep it up and don't feel bad for the negative comments, you are doing such a good job, queen! Edit: Now that I see, I meant that the color palettes are almost monochromatic; look at Alastor, most of his body is covered in red hues. Look at Angel, he has a lot of pink. Look at Vaggie, she has different colors, but has a lot of dark mint tones and white. Charlie is a lil' different, she has red, white, black and yellow. We all know it's just a pilot, things can change, but I don't see Vivzie changing anything since a while ago. 🤷🏽♀️
The biggest problem with Hazbin is the bad writting the art is perfectly fine. The characters don't actually do anything in the pilot. Its one big exposition dump. It lacks a proper 3 act structure. All they ever did was explain stuff. Unlike Gravity Falls where they do tease more to come with Dipper finding book number 3 but The first episode is still a self contianed story about Dipper thinking Mabel's new Boyfriend is a vampire and it is really gnomes. Also I am just as dumbfounded as the other demons. How exactly is she going to redeem the other demons.

Your criticism of the show's art was constructive and well thought-out. It wasn't a pointless attack for the sake of an attack; such insightful criticism is helpful, if not for Vivziepop, then for the people watching who can always learn something.
I feel the same way. When she brought up the argument on colour palettes being the same are an issue, along with the heavy details that are unnecessary (especially for animation) gives another perspective on how people shouldn’t do overkill when it comes to details. She also had points in suggesting to look up time eras on what they should be wearing in terms of when they died. It’s a great study to take into account when creating characters. different colour schemes help so much with characters and making them stand out on their own and not bleed into each other.
That’s not how it came across; Insteadit came across as her not liking someone else’s art, getting mad they they were getting attention because wit kept coming into her recommendations, so she tried to take Vivzipop down a peg. It’s was petty and unnecessary because literally nobody asked, and she literally didn’t make anything better.
i don't like the way they look together at the end 16:13 the colors don't look good together as a cast, Alaster just looks out of place and blends into the background too much , and the choice of poses are kinda dull in the sense that i don't feel any charisma that usually comes through with the original character designs from viv, the personality is still missing for some of them , also something else my eyes really focused on when i saw them all together was angel dust stands out way too much, his head has no hair shadowing like all the other characters do making his face and hair really flat compared to the other redesigns making him stand out in a weird way i think you could do a better job with more time and incentive to do so but as far as this compares to you're last attempt i think this was a much better improvement poses included
I really liked your last video, even if the poses were quite still. I enjoy Hazbin Hotel, but still agree with many of the points you made both in your original video and this new one. I really respect you for calling yourself out on some of the things that you got wrong in the first one. Your art is amazing and you're a huge inspiration. Also, that eyeliner looks amazing.

I'm going to be honest and say that I prefer these designs much more than the original of Vivziepop. These designs are more simple and look easier to animate, I'm not artist, but these speak to me a lot more. Vivziepop art style is just not for me, take this with a grain of salt coming from someone who is in love with Helluva Boss. Alastor's design is also much more sinister with a touch caught like a deer in the headlights.

I think your redesigns are way more expressive than the originals. I'm not really a fan of the original allistor (the emo cut and clifford the big red dog colors arent doing anything for me) but I love how unsettling yet weirdly friendly yours looks, it's like he's only ever read about what smiles look like and I love it.

I much like these redesigns better, they are so much cuter, and I love the overall feel. I’m glad she addressed some of the hate and the slightly disrespectful things she said in her first video. I feel like this video was done a lot more gracefully and I now have a crush on her redesign of Charlie.

I really like Alestor’s redesign here. It’s a lot more erie and less gothic looking because when he was alive, he wouldn’t have been done up like a goth. Plus I really like the placement and size of the ears and horns. Plus the radio you did in your redesign is sooo much better.
I enjoyed the redesigns, but the rant towards the second half of the video just seemed like you scolding the viewers for criticizing your last vid. You just kept telling “Im sorry uyoufelt offended” and “u couldn’t understand the video” just feels like a huge middle finger with a tiny fine print saying ‘its just my opinion’. I really really like this set of redesigns and I am even happier that you used your art style as oppsed to trying to mimic hazbin's. It helps illustrate your point a little more to me,can't say why. I really like your vaggiendesigh and I am glad you changed uo some aspects of her body and coloration. She looks simple enough to animate but complex enough to have a distinctive design. Plus I live the blueish purple on her , it reminds me of Hercules's Hades (Disney). I am much happier with this alistors design ,compared to both your last one and the one from the show, the one here has a certain amount if grace we associate with both deer and him . That.... And I can finally see his antlers. Charlie's redesign is absolutely adorable as well. I am glad the low ponytail was removed , it could allow for more expression and movement with the hair. I had no idea she was supposed to be a marrionette. But I really like the side bowtie and the rounded ends to her pants and shirt. It's nice. Angels design was always kinda meh, to me, you did what you could and I think you executed it well. I'm not bashing the show runners not the pilot so don't take it as such. I look at the pilot designs and I am not entirely sure why they are supposed to be. I look at vagie and am told she is supposed to be a moth. But there isn't anything moth like about her. She looks more like a pastel dead girl than anything. The fact that you had to tell me that instead of me being able to tell just from looking at her is already signs of a muddled designs or dissonance. I thought Angel dust was just some fuzzy bug or a mish-mash of creatures. I had to be TOLD he was a spider. the only hint was when he had all four out.but he usually has out two sets so there goes the insect comparison instead of being aracnide traits. Alistair is supposed to be a deer... With like fifteen different back stories. Well , I am not saying make him look like an athro of furry dear , but the least the designer could have did was make his antlers visible and NOT make him blend into the back ground. I don't see any deer aspect in him and I have to squint to see those twigs people call antlers. And this isn't me being mean, some the characters are unreadable and I should not have to look at a backlog of information elsewhere just to see what they are. I should be able to see it from the pilot. The foundation should already be there. The animation is okay , the art style is okay , it's the design choices and color theory that needs to be re-examined. Why does Alistair , killjoy, and Charlie have nearly the exact same color pallet? Values aside , their colors are even the same. And even mimyz or whatever the flapper's name is shares colors with Charlie. You can still use color theory in hell. Plus pilots are meant to be rough drafts to critique and change. They are not the end all to the rest of the show. The Powerpuff girls pilot looks very different from the official show. Courage the cowardly dog's pilot looks different from the original show. Adventure times pilot looks different from the original show. There is a big possibility that any of these designs will change and that's on whim of the show runners or what is required. There were those being petty and then there are actual , legitimate critiques to be had for the show. And I feel like your critiques were warranted. Many of the people that crusaded for this show attacked others for their own redesigns and ideas. Not everyone what on the show , they just had different ideas and input , there is a difference. But these same rabid fans and fans that acted like they were personally attacked, did not care. It was alarming to see. Art style and design choices are not an excuse to avoid critism. That will always stand true. Regardless , I enjoyed the video and you art was lovely. These are beautiful and have far more effort in them so I commend you for coming back for a round two.

Tbh meppity is my favourite yt artist. Not only because of her amazing art, but shes also ready to confess to her mistakes and I completely agree! She has so much talent these are what her redesigns should've looked like all along. Artist go through a lot of bad drawings before getting the final result (I know) I really respect her for this :) Plus omg love the hairrrrrr

I do agree that the redraw shows the animals they were inspired by and that is really cool. However, I don't think Alaster is supposed to be creepy all the time. He is manipulative and trying to befriend the other characters most likely to stab them in the back later. To do this he must be approachable and somewhat friendly looking. He does have his scary moments in the pilot.
First time watching the video and after seeing the new designs for the show, I’d say your critiques still stand. I love your redesigns especially for Alistor because he looks like he comes from the 1930’s and isn’t just a modern dude with a vintage radio. And looking at all the past comments it’s crazy but not surprising to see that the fandom is still the exact same. Every critique is seen as a personal attack on Vivziepop, all design rules are actually bad and meant to be broken, and somehow your tone was passive aggressive. Honestly your video was way more measured response to the complaints then I think anyone could do after such vitriol. Also the part about the previous video lowering your overall channels age demographic is hilarious to me. It really is a kids cartoon putting on adult pants.
I like your redesigns and I like your critiques about the character design, For most part they're very valid. However for me I feel like this video came off slighty passive aggressive even if that wasn't what you meant to do. I do agree however, the characters do have a few to many details and could be more unique in color and shape.
It felt VERY passive aggressive to me, particularly after she got done showing the redesigns... At least the redesigns were much better than in her first video. And I do think some of her critiques are valid. Passive-aggression just always rubs me the wrong way.

I really hated your old video about this, you just didn’t really seem to care at all about these characters and the comparisons you made like with color pallets and other stuff was really not fair, the poses of the Hazbins were very similar while all the others were iconic, and the pallets had them in an upright order, in order, and in height the same, none of which you did for the hazbins. But I can commend this video due to the fact that you took more into account the actual characters and what makes it themselves rather then just what you liked. I also like the fact that these are more full fledged redesigns rather then actually trying to fix designs that you have no say in

You may not remember me, but I was one of the detractors from the previous redesign video. I just remembered that you did indeed say that you were going to do another redesign video, so I just watched it. While I do still prefer the official designs, and while I am still not entirely on board with the idea of redesigning other people's characters, I must say, on their own, these designs are just so gorgeous to look at, and a major step above your previous designs; you keep the general original feel and theming of the characters while giving them unique distinctive details, shapes, colors and poses that help to differentiate them from each other, as well as making their personalities more readable. So, these redesigns? They work. They work INCREDIBLY well! Well done! :D

I don't blame people or you for not knowing much on the characters and omitting key elements of the characters or no idea what they are going for. The lore and background of the characters are all over the place and I as a fan don't know much about them and what the elements in their design is, (like the moth design in Vaggie, how that eye thing was the injurie of her death and what Alistor was, his deer features is more emo than anything). Some say to read the outside info like the comics for background, but it shouldn't be like that the pilot should provide that info initially. So to Vivziepop, she should make the character lore straightforward and not that people should scratch and hunt for that info, simplify the characters (too much stuff on them especially for animation, I saw some animators missing some character details so it is too much), make key design elements key and important (the Vaggie example) and try letting go a bit of how the characters were before in the past. She's had them for a long time, but the changes they went though are not really much, it's time for second opinions from other artists to better them. Overall Viv has potential and the skill for greatness, but its a long way from being final.
Yeah I have to agree. When I saw Charlie for the first time in the trailer, I had NO IDEA she was supposed to be a princess. Other than her doing that interview she just could've been some dude advertising her hotel, not anyone important. Plus why is she wearing a tux??? Alastor and Angel I get but Charlie? The only thing I can think of is that shes a bellhop or something but c'mon a little more diversity please XD
I mean are they wrong? No. I think they also have a point. The info people are searching for should of been already in the pilot and Charlie looks NOTHING like a princess nor did something right with the hotel idea. She should of made it like Barnes and Noble. 50% a rehab center, and 50% a hotel. People could relax and chill in their hotel rooms or outside with a pool or something like that inside or outside of the hotel. And there can be a cafe too if some would want to drink some coffee or order something to eat like some croissants but overall, it should mostly been a REHAB center. Not a hotel (that was a missed opportunity I thought Vivzie would take but guess not which kind of sucks because I mean it's like Barnes and Nobles .n.)

I've personally never watched it but I've heard it's pretty good. You're also right. It probably is a bit much to wear all that get-up. Honestly I think the lady in the video did a splendid job in redesigning Charlie's outfit, its sophistcated yet casual, and the neck bow is absolutely adorable! Plus she stands out much more than her current design. In the end, Vivzie can do what she likes and I respect that. Those were just my personal thoughts.

Honestly I love how there’s different color palettes. For Alastor I honestly love the first, second, and last color palette. It’s just the green doesn’t go with the third palette. Also these designs are just AMAZING. For angel dust the color palettes I love the first and second. For Charlie’s color palettes I like the first and last. And for Vaggies color palettes I LOVE ALL OF THEM

I LOVE charlie's re-design! The grey of her suit blends perfectly with the subtle blush on her cheeks! She looks so cartoony! Although, I sorta feel like she looks a little too sweet to be the princess of hell. Maybe you could add some imperfections or something to add to her mysterious background, like maybe.. eye circles? eye bags? a healed scar/wound? Just some suggestions though! keep up the good work!
I really didn’t like it. The green and red just clashed so horrifically. Especially the shades that she picked. Just...tacky looking. I love the new design though.

- 9:17 I suggested people didn't like Alastor's first redesign because of their attachment to the original. What I meant is that all my previous designs sucked so people didn't like them by default BUT this attachment would explain why he was MOST disliked. So yeah, it wasn't soley because of the original being a favourite - I'm well aware that the colour palette was pretty gross.
I'll possibly update this pinned comment if theres any other points that get mentioned but for now, thank you for being patient and responding to this video so positively! I look forward to making less ego-infused in future :)

As an animator, I had a huge sigh of relief after seeing the new designs! These are so much cleaner looking and their proportions are perfect for smoother animation, absolutely love this!
Speaking of the designs without animation in mind, I think these designs fit their personalities so well, and Alastor's face was incredibly scary! And I love how you kept their time period in mind!
As for the fandom, I think this fandom is really cutthroat because unlike your average cartoon, this was more of a passion project, made by a smaller team. So the fandom will feel more attached to this show, it doesn't feel corporate and there is a clear face behind the project, vivziepop. But this still doesn't mean that vivziepop is immune to criticism, in fact, if this is a passion project she should be getting more constructive criticism if anything, because she is more likely to take the criticism than a corporation, and we want her to succeed! I think there is a negative attachment to criticism for whatever reason, like criticism is a jab at the creator, but it's the opposite! It's meant to help the creator, so as the viewers, even if we think the criticism isn't the best, let's not attack anyone, because criticism is still meant to help, not hurt!
And on another note, I hope you find this comment, because it looks like you're getting lots of hate, and I think that's pretty uncalled for! You critiqued vivziepop, so instead of us hating, we should critique your videos, help not hurt! :)
Fellow animator here, I think the fandom hates them because they are attached to the original ones, but I, as someone who is not really a fan, when I watched the pilot, my head hurt from all the red and loudness and all. I really like how these have their own distinct color scheme and I like how she did Alastair, he looks fucking creepy but in a way where you dont really know why.

I really REALLY don’t like how people think that critique is a form of hate nowadays. Critique can be many things, spite, kindness, passion, all of that, and it really sucks that people focus on the latter.
There are too many people who say they're offering criticism when really they're just being mean. There was even a couple on UA-cam that actually made fun of another artist's artwork on a Twitch live stream. That's why people nowadays take critiques as personal attacks. Even myself. If someone were to point out the flaws of something I've worked really hard on, I immediately assumed that I failed and abandon the project. It's hard to tell who is genuinely trying to help and those who are being hateful.

@@doesntexist404 in hazbin hotel, the X indicates how the character died. so in people's theories, vaggie could be shot through the eye and for alastor through the head. his X is not really visible unless you pause at the right time. in the last few minutes of the pilot where alastor takes down sir pentious, remember the part where he smiles and everyone else just stares at him? you can see the X on his forehead, hope this helped ^^

i was one of the people that really disliked your last redesigns but i'm happy to say you completely made up for it. i think drawing the characters in your actual style added a lot and i loved the way you did charlie's outfit. if i'm being honest i never thought you'd sell me on alastor wearing more muted colors but i absolutely adored the sepia color scheme paired with the unsettling face, i think it adds a lot and makes him seem scary without trying too hard. i also surprisingly liked vaggie's blue color scheme, especially since it makes her appear more goth, and your angel design was also very good. all in all this video completely made up for the other one and that's rly good cause i love your content and didn't like the bad taste in my mouth the other video gave me

Omg when I saw the first redesign it looked like she forced herself to try to copy Hazbin hotels style and it looked really stiff and weird..... but I’m *really glad* she used her own style and made it look reali interesting and lively *it is b e a u t I f u l.*
It seems more diverse, I agree with the “they don’t need to be red to be intimidating” thing, I’d see red as trying to blend in, but trying to stand out also gives the character confidence and shows that they don’t need to blend in with the environment/people. I’ll keep that in mind when I’m making my own characters, that colours really say something.

A lot of your points actually do a great job explaining why I've only ever watched the Hazbin Hotel pilot *once.* I watch other peoples' music videos far more frequently. The pilot was hard for me to watch, even though in all honesty I love Alastor and Angel Dust (which one's actually my favorite changes daily).
Your suggestions and comments regarding silhouette and color palette are extremely valuable to me for when I get around to the final design of my animated "Personality Menagerie" series. Many of my characters do have unique silhouettes (at least, they ought to, since they're supposed to be half- or fully-animalistic and not all the same animal either), and I was already planning on giving them all different color accents (ultimately, different nail polish colors so that when I'm cosplaying as them and I'm reaching in front of a camera people will know whose hands those are supposed to be), but I hadn't really thought about how important the differences in color palette could be. Now I know that when I get around to the Great Outfit Update for the characters I've already released and will be releasing relatively soon before I can make the new outfit, I should make sure their colors - while parallelling each other to an extent since they're supposed to all be aspects of one person's personality, hence the name - should also be different from each other. Same skin tone or close enough, same hair color or close enough, same eye color or close enough, _shake up the outfits and hairstyles in a big way._

The only critique I have for these designs is Vaggie's hair. Like, how in the world would that hair work from a side view? Though, the Alastor redesign looks SICK!! I love it. Makes him genuinely creepy instead of hot topic.

I LOVE Alastor's design. I totally prefer this one is the sense that he looks SO different from the rest of the characters, like a "different breed" of demon, which i feel suits his character so much. As he is normally, he looks cool, but also blends into the red sea of background much too easily. And now the ears and antlers fit better, before i hadn't even noticed them.
yes most of your points are indeed valid and the antlers do indeed fit better and are far more noticeable but the old design was more to my liking personally.
Also if you think about animals in nature usually the only ones th hat are brightly colored and flashy are prey animals that may or may not be poisonous, although the environment being as flaming asshole red as he is does punch a hole in this theory

After seeing official redesign of Alastor, your's is actually better because you decide to take risk to solve the main issues of his design.
Now that I think of this again, there is honestly nothing that makes the characters special between each other. The four main characters are all skinny, mega tall and with very similar hue color palette, not mentioning that their character design should be also considering a difference between their silhouette. Anwyays, as a hazbin fan since 2018, i must confess that I've redesigned myself some parts of the characters, such as the proportions in Alastor's body, the hairstyle in Charlie and the legs of both Vaggie and Angel. It is a good video for this type of explanation; keep it up and don't feel bad for the negative comments, you are doing such a good job, queen!
Edit: Now that I see, I meant that the color palettes are almost monochromatic; look at Alastor, most of his body is covered in red hues. Look at Angel, he has a lot of pink. Look at Vaggie, she has different colors, but has a lot of dark mint tones and white. Charlie is a lil' different, she has red, white, black and yellow. We all know it's just a pilot, things can change, but I don't see Vivzie changing anything since a while ago. 🤷🏽♀️
The biggest problem with Hazbin is the bad writting the art is perfectly fine. The characters don't actually do anything in the pilot. Its one big exposition dump. It lacks a proper 3 act structure. All they ever did was explain stuff. Unlike Gravity Falls where they do tease more to come with Dipper finding book number 3 but The first episode is still a self contianed story about Dipper thinking Mabel's new Boyfriend is a vampire and it is really gnomes. Also I am just as dumbfounded as the other demons. How exactly is she going to redeem the other demons.

I feel like a lot of people like the old designs because there’s used to them and associate the characters with those designs. If vivziepop changed them to be easier to animate or more appealing people would complain.
Cue 10 months later with Charlie's official new design with the only differences are new red pants, red eyes and bigger shoulder pads.

Your criticism of the show's art was constructive and well thought-out. It wasn't a pointless attack for the sake of an attack; such insightful criticism is helpful, if not for Vivziepop, then for the people watching who can always learn something.
I feel the same way.
When she brought up the argument on colour palettes being the same are an issue, along with the heavy details that are unnecessary (especially for animation) gives another perspective on how people shouldn’t do overkill when it comes to details. She also had points in suggesting to look up time eras on what they should be wearing in terms of when they died.
It’s a great study to take into account when creating characters. different colour schemes help so much with characters and making them stand out on their own and not bleed into each other.

That’s not how it came across; Insteadit came across as her not liking someone else’s art, getting mad they they were getting attention because wit kept coming into her recommendations, so she tried to take Vivzipop down a peg. It’s was petty and unnecessary because literally nobody asked, and she literally didn’t make anything better.

i don't like the way they look together at the end 16:13 the colors don't look good together as a cast, Alaster just looks out of place and blends into the background too much , and the choice of poses are kinda dull in the sense that i don't feel any charisma that usually comes through with the original character designs from viv, the personality is still missing for some of them , also something else my eyes really focused on when i saw them all together was angel dust stands out way too much, his head has no hair shadowing like all the other characters do making his face and hair really flat compared to the other redesigns making him stand out in a weird way i think you could do a better job with more time and incentive to do so but as far as this compares to you're last attempt i think this was a much better improvement poses included

I really liked your last video, even if the poses were quite still. I enjoy Hazbin Hotel, but still agree with many of the points you made both in your original video and this new one. I really respect you for calling yourself out on some of the things that you got wrong in the first one. Your art is amazing and you're a huge inspiration.

I'm going to be honest and say that I prefer these designs much more than the original of Vivziepop. These designs are more simple and look easier to animate, I'm not artist, but these speak to me a lot more. Vivziepop art style is just not for me, take this with a grain of salt coming from someone who is in love with Helluva Boss. Alastor's design is also much more sinister with a touch caught like a deer in the headlights.

I think your redesigns are way more expressive than the originals. I'm not really a fan of the original allistor (the emo cut and clifford the big red dog colors arent doing anything for me) but I love how unsettling yet weirdly friendly yours looks, it's like he's only ever read about what smiles look like and I love it.

I really like Alestor’s redesign here. It’s a lot more erie and less gothic looking because when he was alive, he wouldn’t have been done up like a goth. Plus I really like the placement and size of the ears and horns. Plus the radio you did in your redesign is sooo much better.

I really like your vaggiendesigh and I am glad you changed uo some aspects of her body and coloration. She looks simple enough to animate but complex enough to have a distinctive design. Plus I live the blueish purple on her , it reminds me of Hercules's Hades (Disney).
I am much happier with this alistors design ,compared to both your last one and the one from the show, the one here has a certain amount if grace we associate with both deer and him . That.... And I can finally see his antlers.
Charlie's redesign is absolutely adorable as well. I am glad the low ponytail was removed , it could allow for more expression and movement with the hair. I had no idea she was supposed to be a marrionette. But I really like the side bowtie and the rounded ends to her pants and shirt. It's nice.
Angels design was always kinda meh, to me, you did what you could and I think you executed it well.
I'm not bashing the show runners not the pilot so don't take it as such. I look at the pilot designs and I am not entirely sure why they are supposed to be. I look at vagie and am told she is supposed to be a moth. But there isn't anything moth like about her. She looks more like a pastel dead girl than anything. The fact that you had to tell me that instead of me being able to tell just from looking at her is already signs of a muddled designs or dissonance.
I thought Angel dust was just some fuzzy bug or a mish-mash of creatures. I had to be TOLD he was a spider. the only hint was when he had all four out.but he usually has out two sets so there goes the insect comparison instead of being aracnide traits.
Alistair is supposed to be a deer... With like fifteen different back stories. Well , I am not saying make him look like an athro of furry dear , but the least the designer could have did was make his antlers visible and NOT make him blend into the back ground. I don't see any deer aspect in him and I have to squint to see those twigs people call antlers.
And this isn't me being mean, some the characters are unreadable and I should not have to look at a backlog of information elsewhere just to see what they are. I should be able to see it from the pilot. The foundation should already be there.
The animation is okay , the art style is okay , it's the design choices and color theory that needs to be re-examined.
Why does Alistair , killjoy, and Charlie have nearly the exact same color pallet? Values aside , their colors are even the same. And even mimyz or whatever the flapper's name is shares colors with Charlie.
You can still use color theory in hell.
Plus pilots are meant to be rough drafts to critique and change. They are not the end all to the rest of the show.
The Powerpuff girls pilot looks very different from the official show.
Courage the cowardly dog's pilot looks different from the original show.

There is a big possibility that any of these designs will change and that's on whim of the show runners or what is required.
There were those being petty and then there are actual , legitimate critiques to be had for the show. And I feel like your critiques were warranted.
Many of the people that crusaded for this show attacked others for their own redesigns and ideas. Not everyone what on the show , they just had different ideas and input , there is a difference. But these same rabid fans and fans that acted like they were personally attacked, did not care. It was alarming to see.
Art style and design choices are not an excuse to avoid critism. That will always stand true.
Regardless , I enjoyed the video and you art was lovely. These are beautiful and have far more effort in them so I commend you for coming back for a round two.
I don’t care for any of Vaggie’s designs, I think that she looks weird and will always look weird if we stick to what she looks like right now. I love how Charlie looks in this video! The bell shapes make her look nicer, and i feel like if you talked to this version of her, she would be the nicest most selfless person ever! I love love love how Alastor looks in this one! It reminds me of how i get scared while watching a horror movie. I do agree that the redraw shows the animals they were inspired by and that is really cool. However, I don't think Alaster is supposed to be creepy all the time. He is manipulative and trying to befriend the other characters most likely to stab them in the back later. To do this he must be approachable and somewhat friendly looking. He does have his scary moments in the pilot.

First time watching the video and after seeing the new designs for the show, I’d say your critiques still stand. I love your redesigns especially for Alistor because he looks like he comes from the 1930’s and isn’t just a modern dude with a vintage radio.
And looking at all the past comments it’s crazy but not surprising to see that the fandom is still the exact same. Every critique is seen as a personal attack on Vivziepop, all design rules are actually bad and meant to be broken, and somehow your tone was passive aggressive.
Honestly your video was way more measured response to the complaints then I think anyone could do after such vitriol.
Also the part about the previous video lowering your overall channels age demographic is hilarious to me. It really is a kids cartoon putting on adult pants.

For most part they're very valid.
However for me I feel like this video came off slighty passive aggressive even if that wasn't what you meant to do.
I do agree however, the characters do have a few to many details and could be more unique in color and shape.
It felt VERY passive aggressive to me, particularly after she got done showing the redesigns... At least the redesigns were much better than in her first video. And I do think some of her critiques are valid. Passive-aggression just always rubs me the wrong way.

I really hated your old video about this, you just didn’t really seem to care at all about these characters and the comparisons you made like with color pallets and other stuff was really not fair, the poses of the Hazbins were very similar while all the others were iconic, and the pallets had them in an upright order, in order, and in height the same, none of which you did for the hazbins. But I can commend this video due to the fact that you took more into account the actual characters and what makes it themselves rather then just what you liked. I also like the fact that these are more full fledged redesigns rather then actually trying to fix designs that you have no say in

You may not remember me, but I was one of the detractors from the previous redesign video. I just remembered that you did indeed say that you were going to do another redesign video, so I just watched it.
While I do still prefer the official designs, and while I am still not entirely on board with the idea of redesigning other people's characters, I must say, on their own, these designs are just so gorgeous to look at, and a major step above your previous designs; you keep the general original feel and theming of the characters while giving them unique distinctive details, shapes, colors and poses that help to differentiate them from each other, as well as making their personalities more readable.
So, these redesigns? They work. They work INCREDIBLY well! Well done! :D

I don't blame people or you for not knowing much on the characters and omitting key elements of the characters or no idea what they are going for. The lore and background of the characters are all over the place and I as a fan don't know much about them and what the elements in their design is, (like the moth design in Vaggie, how that eye thing was the injurie of her death and what Alistor was, his deer features is more emo than anything). Some say to read the outside info like the comics for background, but it shouldn't be like that the pilot should provide that info initially. So to Vivziepop, she should make the character lore straightforward and not that people should scratch and hunt for that info, simplify the characters (too much stuff on them especially for animation, I saw some animators missing some character details so it is too much), make key design elements key and important (the Vaggie example) and try letting go a bit of how the characters were before in the past. She's had them for a long time, but the changes they went though are not really much, it's time for second opinions from other artists to better them. Overall Viv has potential and the skill for greatness, but its a long way from being final.
Yeah I have to agree. When I saw Charlie for the first time in the trailer, I had NO IDEA she was supposed to be a princess. Other than her doing that interview she just could've been some dude advertising her hotel, not anyone important. Plus why is she wearing a tux??? Alastor and Angel I get but Charlie? The only thing I can think of is that shes a bellhop or something but c'mon a little more diversity please XD
I mean are they wrong? No. I think they also have a point. The info people are searching for should of been already in the pilot and Charlie looks NOTHING like a princess nor did something right with the hotel idea. She should of made it like Barnes and Noble. 50% a rehab center, and 50% a hotel. People could relax and chill in their hotel rooms or outside with a pool or something like that inside or outside of the hotel. And there can be a cafe too if some would want to drink some coffee or order something to eat like some croissants but overall, it should mostly been a REHAB center. Not a hotel (that was a missed opportunity I thought Vivzie would take but guess not which kind of sucks because I mean it's like Barnes and Nobles .n.)
kaseydilla I was about to say this. Only one episode has been released, the pilot, and therefore it’s pretty much a given that we’ll learn more as the show goes on. We cannot expect to be given all the information right off the bat when we’re literally just getting started.

@Ocean Blue Revolutionary girl Utena is a popular anime whose main character, Utena, aspires to be a prince and acts in a tomboyish manner. I've personally never watched it but I've heard it's pretty good. You're also right. It probably is a bit much to wear all that get-up. Honestly I think the lady in the video did a splendid job in redesigning Charlie's outfit, its sophistcated yet casual, and the neck bow is absolutely adorable! Plus she stands out much more than her current design. In the end, Vivzie can do what she likes and I respect that. Those were just my personal thoughts.

I appreciate this. It takes a lot of courage the put your pride aside and admit where you're wrong and where you messed up, especially this soon after. That's something even most adults can't do. It's nice to see people, not just her, do it so openly

Honestly I love how there’s different color palettes. For Alastor I honestly love the first, second, and last color palette. It’s just the green doesn’t go with the third palette.
Also these designs are just AMAZING.
For angel dust the color palettes I love the first and second.
For Charlie’s color palettes I like the first and last.
And for Vaggies color palettes I LOVE ALL OF THEM
I think the clothes and hair design being based of when they died makes sense and the circle eyes fit Alastor *perfectly*

Charlie: "Not one of our finest moments."
Charlie 2: "But you know what? I'm still going through with my plan. Maybe people will warm up to the idea. Because I believe-"
Charlie: "That even the worst demons have a bit of good deep down."
Angel: "OOF! A broken spine is our kink! Yeah baby, keep kicking me in the stomach."

I LOVE charlie's re-design! The grey of her suit blends perfectly with the subtle blush on her cheeks! She looks so cartoony! Although, I sorta feel like she looks a little too sweet to be the princess of hell. Maybe you could add some imperfections or something to add to her mysterious background, like maybe.. eye circles? eye bags? a healed scar/wound? Just some suggestions though! keep up the good work!

I really didn’t like it. The green and red just clashed so horrifically. Especially the shades that she picked. Just...tacky looking. I love the new design though.
