I am IN LOVE with your depiction of Husk! Not only does he look brilliant, it helped me realize: The canon designs look good all on their own, but... They dont tell us anything about the characters. I had no idea Vaggie was a moth, Alastor a deer, or Husk a gambler. Charlie looks more like a Bellhop than royalty, and the only reason i can imagine is because maybe she's trying to feel more approachable by the commonfolk They had to spell it out for us when their designs alone should be able to tell us what they are

I also like the concept you sorta put out there of a Monstrous form for Alastor, makes me think "Huh, would be interesting if demons had a humanoid form for simply the ease of access and moving around, but are really some form of demonic, horrific creature underneath that truly personified them and their sins." Thats a fun idea there. Awesome redraws!
Actually, Vivziepop confirmed that her characters have a more demonic form. All her characters have a full demon form and you can see a glimpse of Katie's (in the pilot) and Alastor's (in his comic)
every demon has a "full demon" form that is more demonic. that is canon and WELL-KNOWN information within the fandom. One glimpse at the most visited page on the hazbin wiki will take you to alastors full demon form, including back in june of 2021 when this was posted.

I'd love to see you design more characters, maybe Vox, Lucifer, or Pentious. Also, it's really cool seeing a bunch of designs instead of just one. I like the idea of Charlie being somewhat ignorant or elitist without knowing. Maybe she only begins to redeem people after someone calls her out on it, forcing her to improve herself
I mean, they are a good artists, but there was a character that I didn’t like their redesigns of and it was Angel Dust, because one of the redesigns made him look like Dracula and the other redesigns made them look like a copy and paste of his father which he’s supposed to be the complete opposite of him.
The Alastor designs were my favourite. It just suits him very well. He looks very friendly (deceptive personality on point ), from the 1920s -30s and is a radio demon that is feared. All that is well depicted in the design. It almost feels like an Alastor from alternate universe. Vaggie's designs are also really good. She represents the moth well and looks very capable of protecting herself/others. I loved the idea of her having extra arms which can increase the parallels with Angel dust as both represent insects but they hate eachother. In terms of clothes and overall art style & posture, the one with the x crop top & her frowning suits her personality, time period and animal most. I REALLY liked katy killjoy and tom too. Katy is perfect and I like the idea of how the buff, strong-looking tom would cower at katy's words like in the pilot. It makes her more manipulative and scary.
I'm probably gonna get in a fight for this but, the designs are amazing. It actually looks like the description of each character. It's just that in the comments...the fans try so hard to protect the show and act like it has no flaws.

Damn, although every re-design looks astonishingly superior to thier originals, I have to compliment your take on Alastor in particular; He actually fits the description he's given! It strays away from the "Tumblr sexy man" get-up and lives up to the title of 'Radio Demon'. I don't know if it's love for 'bigger' men making me biased or my obsession with Demonology, but nevertheless, I applude you for this absolutely amazing example of character design.

Your unpolished just off the top of your thoughts designs of hh characters are in my opinion much better than Viv's (little sorry on that but I can't lie still love some of her designs just not HH's). I've seen so many redesigns/re-draws on HH that's more visibly pleasing/interesting than hers. Well done on your take love the environments aswell ♡. Edit: your design of Al is absolutely the best especially after seeing the final show design, my soul wasted potential.
Vivzie pop I think can come up with interesting concepts but the execution is always so far off. I don't think she ever thinks some of these things through. Alister was designed by vivzie when she was in high school I think? And i guess she didn't really do anything to tweak him since. Glad you redesigned them. They look so much more interesting and I love the logic you used for the details.
While browsing through Hazbin’s wikia, I found in the trivia section for Angel Dust that he and Alastor are the hardest characters for Vivzie to write in part because she “doesn't know all the details of the time period they come from”. I suppose that would explain a few things.
i love your redesign of angel dust. i hate his actual design in the show. it’s just TOO modern for me. i feel like if you’re going to base a character off of a time period and say that’s when they lived then you should actually show that time period in their design. just from looking at angel dust, i had no idea that he was from the 1940’s. i’m not saying you can’t have creative freedom to add some modern spice to his design (or add new colors like pink to match the background or theme of hell in the show), but it feels like there’s no representation of the 1940’s in his design at all.
I love how creative these takes all were and how you presented some alternates instead of just one final design for each. Was really cool seeing your process, especially for Alastor!

In all honesty, I think just having this video, and not the other one, would have made a much better impact. The review you made felt a little bit too judgmental and bitter, like you were coming into the topic just to make a negative video, while I am almost certain you didn't mean to come off that way, this one gave me a much better impression. I think you should stick with this style of content, simply talking about stuff in your field of knowledge. Honestly these all look amazingly well made and the fit the characters very well!

Charlie she stated was the cliche genki Disney wannabe princess of hell which would be unrealistic in a setting like hell since most people are fucking assholes or people who are nice but show sociopathic tendency such as millie. Her argument in the video was that Charlie would be more interesting if she would be low key an passive aggressive asshole so basically princess Clara since being a princess she would be spoil. Hell, no pun intended charlie would be more interesting if she was an allegory of a white liberal who always present themselves as being a savior for white people but at the same thing are racist as they think they can't speak or do thing for themselves hence being racist . The same can be said for charlie who would try to be nice to the sinner demons but lowkey comes out as looking down on them due to being royalty. Maybe next summer when the series air we may get to see that side of her but until now her character is met. Vaggie I agree with her that she's a decent and likeable character, but her talking about her voice actress and being a Latina stereotype just throw me off since that has nothing to do with the character so if there's something you could say is wrong it would be that. Angel dust yeah I agree with her this dude is such an unlikable dick who's entire gimmick is being a gay stereotype which people especially gay people would find as good representation even though he's a stereotype. She talk about how much of a cunt he is towards the people especially charlie who let's him stay in his hotel free of charge in addition to flipping off the bird towards her, and no just because he was rape or abuse it doesn't excuse him from being an asshole considering she's the princess of hell and powerful she could take care of Valentino for him. But then again charlie is also stupid for letting a guy who's a sexually degenerate and proud of it stay in her hotel in hope of changing and being able to get into heaven even though he's gay, and since homosexuality is a no no in God's eye I don't think that's possible so he's basically getting a free place to stay. Cherry bomb likes bomb, yeah she's a pycho pyromaniac who's bf with angel dust and has daddy issue which she could mention but then again her saying what she say isn't inaccurate since she wasn't fleshed put beside these point I mentioned. Alistair, yeah her saying that him being an overlord be a thing later on don't make a lot of sense since charlie and veggies by proxy would be familiar about the overlords since her dad being the king of the hell means she would know about them. Her argument would make some sense if charle and vaggie were imps who's bottom of the social ladder who wouldn't be familiar of overlords. She only mentioned superficial stuff such as the radio filter of his voice, but again didn't go into detail on his character, but then again since it's a pilot we don't know much about him other than being a sociopath who enjoy the suffering of other or only helping charlie because he's bored. Whether he has an ulterior motive remain to be seen until 2023, hence why vizie instead of introducing many fucking character should've just focus on the main character which would be charlie, vaggie and maybe angel dust and explain why she wants to do send sinner to heaven or why she form happy motel. Husk an cat who's grumpy, yeah that's it, she's write on this one, she could've mentioned him knowing Alistair but that doesn't impact his character since it's only a pilot. Nifty yeah saying she's there isn't that much of a stretch, since her entire gimmick is that she wants to get pork by a man real bad and she has history with Alistair, but we won't know more detail about her character until 2023. Razzle and dazzle let's be honest this shouldn't be a debate since most people forgot they were in the episode since the barley spoke a line that's if they can speak in the first place. Snake dude was ok according to her, don't know what's she said was wrong, the dude was just a butt monkey who was killed by Alistair or was he, we have to see till 2023. Killjoy yeah she never mentioned anything thing about her character besides her design which I could see being bad. I think she's just a typical foil towards charlie and just a bitch. Tom, she stated he didn't stand out to her which is her opinion, the only thing about his character is that he's perve and is abused by killjoy which isn't really much of a character.

I REALLY like the first 3 redraws of Angel and the most of Vaggie I don’t like Charlie as much I would go with the official one but I do like Alastor a lot but idk which one I would choose probably your one I find Cherry Bomb good (the second and third) I would choose your one! Husk is okay I like him more then the official one and Nifty is really cute :D I would say no to Katy Kill Joy and I will say no to the last one I forgot the name lol but over all I like all your characters more than the official ones but some ones gotta have new personalitys then but I like them ALL A LOT! First Alastor design: If Slender Man and Jack Skelengton met an old-time villain. Plus: we need more Illuminati Monster Claw Radio Towers, perfect for Alastor!
I don't like the main cast redraws ,but I absolutely adore the side character ones , for me it's the side character designes that drive me up the wall normally
6:32 think if you could mix the second design (the one with the jacket on the shoulder)and the 4th design (the purple one) it would look really good. 13:24 also would probably not have the wings. 12:28 I would have put no lips stick(or make the lipstick a bright color to give her a younger look cuz usually characters with dark lipstick are usually seen as older women.
The OST is from the Shin Megami Tensei series (specifically SMT IV, SMT Nocturne, and the original SMT). That ost (and indirectly Hazbin Hotel) got me into the series! ^^
I’m sorry to say this but just know it’s in the most nicest way possible,but the Re-designs of charlie,vaggie,Angel dust,and alastor look great and all,but they look like side characters that look like they’re gonna be introduced in the show instead of them looking like they’ve been in the show,and I love how you played around with the designs,but the only one who looks like themselves is vaggie and that doesn’t seem fair tbh,Alastor doesn’t look like the tall lanky radio demon that vizzie was trying to interpret in the show,and angel dust looks more like he’s named after morphine,and doesn’t look like he died from over dose,but more like being shot by a mafia member. And Charlie doesn’t look or seem out to be the protagonist that wants to redeem sinners,but more like make it worse!,and tbh with you what’s the point in making hazbin hotel with these type of designs that doesn’t give the audience the entertainment that they want and need as a show. But that’s my opinion on that,and I do feel like you should play around with the designs of Charlie,Angel dust, and Alastor more before coming up with anything else. To me: The redraws were pretty average (no offense) (vivzie's were unique tho cuz she played around with their concepts to fit how she wanted then to be in the show (plus the demons have more forms based on their traits and mood (i.e. Charlie's transformation with the horns, eyes, and hair when she's singing, Katie killjoy growing extra limbs when she gets angry, and Alastor changing himself and his surroundings to being static when he gets morbid and serious)(plus she probably wanted to give them a more human design for appeal so that people could relate to the characters), so there's really no need to up the "making them look more like actual demons approach") The only one that didn't rly "pop" out of the redrawn was angel dust's redraw (I'm not a simp, I'm a straight Christian male). I get that ur trying to make his design look more 1940's-like, but he's also supposed to be a drag queen (hence the boots, gloves and attire vivzie gave him), otherwise, he just looks like a regular, substance abusing, working man from the '40's

They kept being naive designs she made as a teen, design features stuck in a bygone era, there is nothing iconic about them left now, I mean 15 damn years and still character designs flaws pointed out by people frustratingly, nah.

Your unpolished just off the top of your thoughts designs of hh characters are in my opinion much better than Viv's (little sorry on that but I can't lie still love some of her designs just not HH's). I've seen so many redesigns/re-draws on HH that's more visibly pleasing/interesting than hers. Well done on your take love the environments aswell ♡. Edit: your design of Al is absolutely the best especially after seeing the final show design, my soul wasted potential.

Vivzie pop I think can come up with interesting concepts but the execution is always so far off. I don't think she ever thinks some of these things through. Alister was designed by vivzie when she was in high school I think? And i guess she didn't really do anything to tweak him since.

While browsing through Hazbin’s wikia, I found in the trivia section for Angel Dust that he and Alastor are the hardest characters for Vivzie to write in part because she “doesn't know all the details of the time period they come from”. I suppose that would explain a few things.
If she doesn't know all the details, maybe she should've researched them.

i love your redesign of angel dust. i hate his actual design in the show. it’s just TOO modern for me. i feel like if you’re going to base a character off of a time period and say that’s when they lived then you should actually show that time period in their design.
just from looking at angel dust, i had no idea that he was from the 1940’s. i’m not saying you can’t have creative freedom to add some modern spice to his design (or add new colors like pink to match the background or theme of hell in the show), but it feels like there’s no representation of the 1940’s in his design at all.

each one of these takes are phenomenal, and such great inspiration for my own eventual redesigns. hazbin hotel will always be this piece of media that feels so close, yet so, so far away from its potential greatness.

In all honesty, I think just having this video, and not the other one, would have made a much better impact. The review you made felt a little bit too judgmental and bitter, like you were coming into the topic just to make a negative video, while I am almost certain you didn't mean to come off that way, this one gave me a much better impression. I think you should stick with this style of content, simply talking about stuff in your field of knowledge. Honestly these all look amazingly well made and the fit the characters very well!

Charlie she stated was the cliche genki Disney wannabe princess of hell which would be unrealistic in a setting like hell since most people are fucking assholes or people who are nice but show sociopathic tendency such as millie. Her argument in the video was that Charlie would be more interesting if she would be low key an passive aggressive asshole so basically princess Clara since being a princess she would be spoil. Hell, no pun intended charlie would be more interesting if she was an allegory of a white liberal who always present themselves as being a savior for white people but at the same thing are racist as they think they can't speak or do thing for themselves hence being racist . The same can be said for charlie who would try to be nice to the sinner demons but lowkey comes out as looking down on them due to being royalty. Maybe next summer when the series air we may get to see that side of her but until now her character is met.
Vaggie I agree with her that she's a decent and likeable character, but her talking about her voice actress and being a Latina stereotype just throw me off since that has nothing to do with the character so if there's something you could say is wrong it would be that.
Angel dust yeah I agree with her this dude is such an unlikable dick who's entire gimmick is being a gay stereotype which people especially gay people would find as good representation even though he's a stereotype. She talk about how much of a cunt he is towards the people especially charlie who let's him stay in his hotel free of charge in addition to flipping off the bird towards her, and no just because he was rape or abuse it doesn't excuse him from being an asshole considering she's the princess of hell and powerful she could take care of Valentino for him. But then again charlie is also stupid for letting a guy who's a sexually degenerate and proud of it stay in her hotel in hope of changing and being able to get into heaven even though he's gay, and since homosexuality is a no no in God's eye I don't think that's possible so he's basically getting a free place to stay.
Cherry bomb likes bomb, yeah she's a pycho pyromaniac who's bf with angel dust and has daddy issue which she could mention but then again her saying what she say isn't inaccurate since she wasn't fleshed put beside these point I mentioned.
Alistair, yeah her saying that him being an overlord be a thing later on don't make a lot of sense since charlie and veggies by proxy would be familiar about the overlords since her dad being the king of the hell means she would know about them. Her argument would make some sense if charle and vaggie were imps who's bottom of the social ladder who wouldn't be familiar of overlords. She only mentioned superficial stuff such as the radio filter of his voice, but again didn't go into detail on his character, but then again since it's a pilot we don't know much about him other than being a sociopath who enjoy the suffering of other or only helping charlie because he's bored. Whether he has an ulterior motive remain to be seen until 2023, hence why vizie instead of introducing many fucking character should've just focus on the main character which would be charlie, vaggie and maybe angel dust and explain why she wants to do send sinner to heaven or why she form happy motel.
Husk an cat who's grumpy, yeah that's it, she's write on this one, she could've mentioned him knowing Alistair but that doesn't impact his character since it's only a pilot.
Nifty yeah saying she's there isn't that much of a stretch, since her entire gimmick is that she wants to get pork by a man real bad and she has history with Alistair, but we won't know more detail about her character until 2023.
Razzle and dazzle let's be honest this shouldn't be a debate since most people forgot they were in the episode since the barley spoke a line that's if they can speak in the first place.
Snake dude was ok according to her, don't know what's she said was wrong, the dude was just a butt monkey who was killed by Alistair or was he, we have to see till 2023.
Killjoy yeah she never mentioned anything thing about her character besides her design which I could see being bad. I think she's just a typical foil towards charlie and just a bitch.
Tom, she stated he didn't stand out to her which is her opinion, the only thing about his character is that he's perve and is abused by killjoy which isn't really much of a character.

Husk is okay I like him more then the official one and Nifty is really cute :D I would say no to Katy Kill Joy and I will say no to the last one I forgot the name lol but over all I like all your characters more than the official ones but some ones gotta have new personalitys then but I like them ALL A LOT! I think for the angle redesign you missed the whole "vibe" of him being a gay, feminine man. But it's your redesign so what the heck. To be fair, the original Angel really leaned into mobster, there was no pornstar, gay schtick & had muted colors, like "In the arms of an angel".

6:32 think if you could mix the second design (the one with the jacket on the shoulder)and the 4th design (the purple one) it would look really good. 13:24 also would probably not have the wings. 12:28 I would have put no lips stick(or make the lipstick a bright color to give her a younger look cuz usually characters with dark lipstick are usually seen as older women.

I’m sorry to say this but just know it’s in the most nicest way possible,but the Re-designs of charlie,vaggie,Angel dust,and alastor look great and all,but they look like side characters that look like they’re gonna be introduced in the show instead of them looking like they’ve been in the show,and I love how you played around with the designs,but the only one who looks like themselves is vaggie and that doesn’t seem fair tbh,Alastor doesn’t look like the tall lanky radio demon that vizzie was trying to interpret in the show,and angel dust looks more like he’s named after morphine,and doesn’t look like he died from over dose,but more like being shot by a mafia member.
And Charlie doesn’t look or seem out to be the protagonist that wants to redeem sinners,but more like make it worse!,and tbh with you what’s the point in making hazbin hotel with these type of designs that doesn’t give the audience the entertainment that they want and need as a show.
But that’s my opinion on that,and I do feel like you should play around with the designs of Charlie,Angel dust, and Alastor more before coming up with anything else.
But yeah,that’s my opinion on your re-designs for the main cast that doesn’t look or seem to be,but it seems that you made yours for fun,and that’s cool but next time if your gonna re-design a character that seems of needing “fixing”, try to make it add up to the plot and let the colors pop more to grab the audience attention.

It annoys me how Charlie lets everyone walk all over her. Her parents have sheltered her way too much.
A proper princess of hell should be respected or feared. Charlie should have been like a nicer version of alastor, and what I mean by that is that she will carry herself like a powerful demon should and not take shit from other demons. This version of Charlie would destroy katie killjoy as soon as they meet.
By the way, I like your character designs. They look cool.

To me: The redraws were pretty average (no offense) (vivzie's were unique tho cuz she played around with their concepts to fit how she wanted then to be in the show (plus the demons have more forms based on their traits and mood (i.e. Charlie's transformation with the horns, eyes, and hair when she's singing, Katie killjoy growing extra limbs when she gets angry, and Alastor changing himself and his surroundings to being static when he gets morbid and serious)(plus she probably wanted to give them a more human design for appeal so that people could relate to the characters), so there's really no need to up the "making them look more like actual demons approach") The only one that didn't rly "pop" out of the redrawn was angel dust's redraw (I'm not a simp, I'm a straight Christian male). I get that ur trying to make his design look more 1940's-like, but he's also supposed to be a drag queen (hence the boots, gloves and attire vivzie gave him), otherwise, he just looks like a regular, substance abusing, working man from the '40's
Everyone has different opinion but so do i and i have heavy disagree with this comment like how are these redraws average? they certainly don't all have the same anatomy plus they'll more detail and easy to follow then the officials designs. @@sailorstar3148 Vivienne literally posted on her Twitter recently how she never really changed Alastor in 15 years and extension her other characters too much aswell, so not a lot of "depth" went into them by Vivienne. They kept being naive designs she made as a teen, design features stuck in a bygone era, there is nothing iconic about them left now, I mean 15 damn years and still character designs flaws pointed out by people frustratingly, nah.
