This is a great tool I got one yesterday, left it charging overnight, used it in the morning cleaning up a bunch of weeds on a halve acre lawn, trimming and stuff, used the tool for about 1 hour and a halve continuously, placed the battery on the charger and it showed 1/4 of the charge left. So with that said, this is a tool for home usage, not for commercial use unless you carry more batteries already charged, I really like it for home.
That line will work with Ryobi 40V Expand-It Heads also. There are also many other brands that are interchangeable besides Hart/Ryobi. The "Expand-It" lines are All interchangeable from all that say "Exapand-It" on them. I sold all of my Expand-It Ryobi units. That black cap is to hang all the attachments on a wall for that "Main Unit". They make a blower, edger, tiller & a few other ends that work with the line. I have a bunch of the those "Black Hanging Caps" left over I bought to add to my kit/bundles I sold.
Get rid of gas and switch to electric for three top reasons: 1- quieter. 2- no maintenance needed. 3- zero emissions. Gas ones keep vibrating and too noisy. When i use electric one. I can hear others when they call ne unlike gas ones. They are at least 15 decibels quieter. So your ears will not get damaged over time.
Will different brands of attachments work on the head? That’d be nice but i don’t foresee this giving ego a run for its money anytime soon. The thermal management on ego lawn-care tools is worthy of serious praise.
Thanks for confirming that Hart 40v batteries do not fit Ryobi. Even though they are both made by the same company and look almost identical to bad they don't fit because the batteries are less expensive when they go on sale at Walmart.
Sounds pretty powerful I wonder how long it would last but not bad do you have the robyi one do they seem simalar but for a small yard iam sure it would work great thank you for a great review
I have 1 question and 1 warning. Question: how long did the 4ah battery take to charge? Warning: I've had that version of the Ryobi expand it system with attachments and be careful of the loosening and tightening of that wing bolt and clamp. That style from TTI is prone to stripping. I was tough on my first one, easy on my 2nd one, both still stripped. Ryobi has since upgraded their design of that clamp, but Hart looks like the older Ryobi design. I have spoken. 😁👍
They should be because the Hart and Ryobi brands under the same company. Also this Hart trimmer is the 1st gen Ryobi 40v trimmer that they came out with about 5yrs ago. My 1st gen Ryobi trimmer is still kicking like a champ. I was really hoping that the batteries would fit.
Have you been able to get it running? Mine worked for a few days... I've just tried running it and the line seems to just feed constantly causing it to get tangled. I have tried every way of loading the string I can imagine, it seems the bump might be getting stuck, idk?
HELP I have that but it also came with a leaf blower and when i start the Weed eater the string keeps extending and it gets huge and I dont know whats going on
I had the Ryobi and the only complaint I had with it is the trimmer head spins the wrong way. It flings everything at you if you hold the trigger with your right hand. All gas powered trimmers if you are looking down at the head spin in a clock wise rotation and the Ryobi and this one spin counter clock wise. I ended up having to use it left handed to keep from being covered and stung from the head. I was very happy with my Ryobi's run time for the size yard I had but on taller stuff it is a bit gutless so I had to take smaller swaths to a gas machine.
Yes, I know what you mean. To compensate for that you need to trim from left to right. A larger string guard would help immensely as well. You should also pick up some braided .095 trimmer line, which works great on taller and tougher weeds and lasts a long time compared to smaller diameter line.
@@bulldog7659 I have the Ryobi 40v trimmer (2nd one) and the blower. The trimmer guards I always remove and the Rotary brand .095 braided line is the best hands down,
Anyone found a way to buy attachments for it? I went to the website and nothing is listed. I tried the website on the box ( Powerfit.com ) and the site doesn't work. Also, they don't have a way to buy the 40v 4ah battery. Only the 40v 2.5ah battery. I am very happy with the trimmer but will I be able to get parts for it in the future? Are the parts not available because this is a brand new line of tools? Thanks
Reading booklet, BEFORE making adjustments to any moveable parts, of HARTS weed eater, with your hands, REMOVE BATTERY from unit.... possible injury to yourself. In your video, you really didn’t emphasize the importance of removing the lithium battery pack, when you were adjusting the trim-line. People will remember a hands on video MORE than remembering what they skimmed thru in the instruction manual EVEN WHEN IT READS... Read entire instructions. Otherwise good hands on video.
i don't know if you have re done this Hart product but this is poorly done. you didn't show how to restring the head at all let alone properly. thumbs down. sorry

that is good to know sir, ill have to try that out and thank you
Wonder how much modification would be needed for these batteries to be cross compatible
you can't dremel off some plastic to make it fit? you said the battery ports probably are not the same, can you actually check?
Are you suppose to take off the tape thats on the wire before use??
I have the 20 volt version of this. It does a good job for what I do as I mow 4 yards. I would prefer a gas over the 20 volt but it is acceptable
another video about this is coming soon and it works great.

How many minutes can you get off a single charge for the 20v version? I'm thinking of getting that one since it's cheaper in price than the 40v one.
Will different brands of attachments work on the head? That’d be nice but i don’t foresee this giving ego a run for its money anytime soon. The thermal management on ego lawn-care tools is worthy of serious praise.
I don't think they will. they have to be the exact same size with the stem for them to work. but I don't not know

Like your video man but I dont know if you done it but what a about a tour of all you power tools you can see on the wall and can see that be cool
I have not yet but I will :)
How fast does it drive in timberlock screws?
lol
Cool video David. What made you decide to purchase the brushed string trimmer kit over the brushless kit? I think the brushless kit is $40 more.
this was sent to me. I will be trying out the dewalt Xr string trimmer this spring
I brought the atlas when my ryobi 2stroke died.
If i find a good deal on hart might grab one BC I miss the attachment system..
Good review I may need to check this line out!
it really isn't that bad, are there better brands out there? yes, but Hart really isn't that bad and thank you for viewing
Is it spring yet where you are? Looking forward to see this beast in its natural habitat!
spring is here and I cant wait for summer

Th 4ah battery took about 2.5 hours to charge, the Ryobi battery took about the same time. I cant wait to test this out during the summer
Comes with a five year warranty. I would like to think if the wingnut striped they would replace it.

Is there a better size string that can be used besides the stock string?
I have the Hart 40v hedge trimmer... It's amazing
I love it and it works just fine

The string is not installed correctly. you should try to install it again because it should get to a certain length.
reverse the string spoon pool opposite to your machine's movement like if your machine moves clockwise then your spoon should be counterclockwise.
What is the best electric trimmer for power and run time no price limit??
the 40v Ryobi for the price. comes wit a 2.6ah 40v battery. $130 for the trimmer and battery
i have this and the mower, i haven't use either yet though
let me know what you think of it.
I bought the same kind but it doesn't look like that 1 u got
they do make 2 different versions of this

The runtime all depends on the battery. but they didn't display a runtime on the Walmart website so im not too sure and thank you Corey

its ok, they might come in other kits
