Omg the silicone spray!! I used it for the first time last year and didn't put a towel down in my hardwood 😭 my living room was a slip and slide for MONTHS lol
I think a lot of people are worried that when you brush a wig you'll accidentally pluck it bare xD don't worry, you won't. Random hairs will probably fall out every now and again, but you'd be hard pressed to ruin a wig with one styling.
if you want to cut a fringe while wearing a wig (which i always do, i find it helps to make sure it’s exactly where you want it) i really recommend little thread scissors! they’re usually super sharp and because they have a tiny blade it’s really easy to be super precise with your snips! i have a fringe in my actual hair and i always use thread scissors to trim it because it makes it so much easier than trying to manhandle a massive pair of scissors right next to my face lol
I've never, ever heard of that mane n tail detangler, but I'm really thankful that you mentioned that, Anya! Thank you, that'll come in handy for my longer wigs!

Hi Anya! Weird request, but could you maybe do a video on what you need to know to cosplay from certain franchises, or the stigmas around not knowing enough about certain characters or fandoms at conventions?

I am a new cosplayer and I have never styled a wig. My other cosplays all had straight wigs that didn't really need styling until I got my Junko wig from Danganronpa. If you don't know what she looks like, she has really crazy hair. (You can look it up if you want) So I went out, bought got2b and a teasing brush, and started. The first ponytail looked amazing, but the second turned out really bad and I am still trying to fix it and I don't know what to do. Should I wash it out? If so, how do I do that?
I've heard to wash it with fabric softener/detergent! So you out it into a sink or tub and put the fabric softener/detergent in and leave it to soak for a few hours, after brush it out and leave it to dry! Super late but I hope it helps others!
Oooh thank you for the teasing advice, I didn't know that!! If you wanted maybe similar video ideas/other topics, maybe talking about how to clean a wig could be interesting? No pressure though, great videa as always!

Do you know how to comb out the spike, without messing up the wig? Personally I don't have a wig yet, but I am planning to get one for cosplay, and I don't know if you comb out the spike if it messes up anything.. Sorry, I am pretty much a newbie!
I'm really late, but Arda Wigs has several spiking tutorials on this topic. To give you a short answer, I would advise you to change your method. A lot of cosplayers seem to recommend heating the wig strands with a hair straightener and then teasing it. Once it cools, then you can comb/brush to detangle, and it will still have the volume and none of the messiness. I have yet to try this myself, but the concept seems solid. Also, if you tease part of your wig you don't want to/want to try again, even if you comb it out, you'll notice that the fibers are "frizzy". You can fix this with a hair straightener. However, beware of heat with certain wigs, especially cheaper ones. Some are not heat resistant, and heating them with a straightener can melt the fibers. Please be careful and if you are not sure, do a test strand in an inconspicuous spot. Hope this helps!
@Jordan Mosinskis Thank you so much! I have still not gotten a wig yet, nor have I cosplayed yet, due to personal reasons of mine, so once I get one, I will definitely play with some of the ways tutorials show people. ❤ Thank you again; this is going to be really helpful for me.
I’ve really been trying to research wig styling tips and i’ve got the necessary tools now, and now I just need to buy a wig and some hairspray then I’ll start it up. I got it more for the pretty colours anyway and it is VERY long, so either was going to trim it or maybe put it in loose braids lol since I was trying to also come up with styling ideas so video helped for that, too.
I got my first wig for a Halloween costume a couple months back and the bangs were super long so I ended up trimming them on my bathroom counter with the wig on my head 😅😅 I’m still finding tiny pink hairs everywhere
