- In this video I install a pile of Hot Racing upgrade parts and a Reefs 99 servo on the no budget scx24 C10. Some fit perfectly..... some not so much, so i will tell you what I ran into while installing these parts.

Thanks for the video. I appreciate your editing and how concise the video is. I just ordered a bunch of HR stuff for my scx. I just got into the hobby and I love micro crawling. I am going to check out your other vids now! Cheers!!
Thanks for watching brother. I am glad you found it helpful 🤙
even if the video is more that 1 year, the information you give relevant even this day, for me this video is saving money to many persons, thanks
Thanks bro👊
Super cool. Love These little trucks, working on getting one . Appreciate you sharing. Love watching your videos
Thanks brother🤙
Thanks for the tips! Great RC Crawler - so much fun
Thanks, and thanks for watching brother 👍
Holy crap, didn't realize all the upgrades out there for these lil monsters, I knew of some from Hot Racing but just didn't see all...thanks brother...✌😎👍
Thanks for watching bro👍
Man Lee love the color choice on two tone.so classy and classic
Thanks brother. I knew from the beginning if I got a c-10 that this was the paint job I wanted it to have.
Killer looking little rigs i really like the no Budget build truck👍👍
Thanks bro, it is a sweet truck if i do say so myself. Fern Solo did an outstanding job on the paint. Really sets this truck apart from so many others I have seen.
I love that the Reefs tried to tie the stock steering links in a knot. 🤣😂🤣 i always love your blunt honesty. If you ever want a 600$ SCX24, watch this video first.!! Well done sir.!!
Lol, uhh....yep🤣
Great video buddy I didn’t have any problems with my transmission housing at all. But you are right about the race 99 it will punish those arms need the aluminum Arms from Hot racing.
Lol, yeah it definitely needs something with more beef for sure.
I wish I could find some HR links for it, but everyone seems to be out.
Nicely done Uncle Lee. Yeah Hot racing sometimes disappoints when it comes to upgrading. Best is to keep the truck stock to perform well. But the no budget build is definitely a Tank now.
Thanks bro. This is why I do these reviews. I know HR is all the rage for the SCX24 and most of the parts are pretty sweet and fit well. But not always the case. Eventually I will do a comparison between this truck and the budget build to see if the extra money is really worth it.
By far my favorite upgrade from any company, that completely changes the rig, the +4mm hot racing axles and 5G weights for them (best upgrade other than wheels and tires, but that’s a different game)
Good fit test. That's gonna be a tank!
Lol, yeah it's gained a little beef in the weight room for sure. I have a special plan for down the road to get some power to all this weight. 😎
Nice upgrades the truck is awesome
Thanks brother. 👍
This C10 is really great, I really like the body, very good upgrade, it's weird that all the parts do not fit on it but it can certainly be used for another of your rc . Very good explanations and great video .
Thanks brother. I was disappointed that all parts did not fit correctly. But what did work worked great
@@BullgearRCvideos 😊👍
Sweet upgrades, can't wait to see what you think of them,im saving my pennies to upgrade mine💯💯💯💯👊👊👍👍
Well bro, i can say the stuff that fit right is pretty sweet. I'm gonna have to at least get some proper steering links before I test it. But she gained some weight on her bottom for sure🤣
Thanks for the videos! I was justed to say this is the type of videos that youtube is supposed to be about- honest little guys like us making videos.
Lol, yeah...I used to have a company send me stuff to reveiw until they sent me crap, and I said it was crap. That seemed to bother them, and some other people who gave the same product good reviews. But oh well, i call em like I see em.
@@BullgearRCvideos good on you! Luckily i havent been sent crap yet, but most companies shy away from me anyways because i already have a rep for telling the truth, so kudos to the ones that do. Its just so irritating seeing so many fake marketing channels that seeing an old school one that is just a guy sharing what he is passionate about is refreshing. Keep it up man. Hey- if you are ever near bowling green kentucky, there are some amazing places to crawl around mammoth cave.
@@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors if I get that way I'd like to check it out. Always enjoy doing a crawl with other channels or veiwers 👍
That is a sick scx24 ! Ended up looking sick as hell ! Rc content is always fun to watch and make ! Recently also have gotten into making rc content myself :) i subscribed and liked !
Thanks bro, and good luck👊
I jst did a lot of the same upgrades that are shown here. My Transmission case fit right, with no binding, etc. Smoother than the original case. You must have got a bad part. I love almost everything about Hot Racing parts, except the price !! Good video , keep up the great work !!
Thanks brother. I have heard in the comments below that some have had no issues and others have had the same issues. May have been a bad production run. I'm sure it happens from time to time
Great video
Thanks bro👍
Excellent mini crawler scx24 and beautiful channel and video my friend
Thank you 👍
@@BullgearRCvideos i support your channel my friend good day😉👍👍
I hear many people have issues with the HR transmission case. I myself had no problems with the kyx transmission case from eBay. I look forward to trying out a TREAL one also
I may have to look into the kyx🤙
Looks great 👍
Thanks bro👊
Newbie to rock crowling love the look
Oh dang Uncle Lee! You gotta lot of metal there!
I'm jealous, been wanting to get some metal, but keep hopping from one project to another.
Lol, well hopefully when you get your metal it will fit🤣 with all this extra weight I think this would be a perfect candidate for that one thing😎
@@BullgearRCvideos yes sir, it would!
Hey yeah, that front tray with shock mounts, i assume your frame is bent. The last scx24 that i purchased had a bent frame on one side. Usually the plastic pieces meet in the middle of the material flex points, but the metal pieces do not, so a 1/16" bend for each piece, no problem for plastic or long thin metal, but the metal tray/shock mounts dont give, and it changes the flex rest point... if that makes sense.. :)
You inspected that piece right? Stands even on a flat surface?
Im curious as to what your opinion is on the performance of a fully metal upgraded scx24.
The shock mount tray seems straight, but i will check it on a different frame. I'm excited to give it a test, but i will have to change the steering links first.
My job for this weekend got canceled so I'm flying home today and don't know what trucks I will bring next trip out. But I will be bringing a 1/10 scale rig next trip out
great info and video
Thanks bro👍
Cool vibe.
Thanks lil bro👊
Very informative!
Glad it was helpful brother.🤙
I've seen TJ the RC Guy put new axles on his, there the 'naked' aluminum/ steel look. For yours though these look better! Of course it's all comes down to personal preference. Going to call and see if Schaefer's (in Mo)is open yet, and so finally get me one. Also see if they have some of these and other accessories.
Yeah, TJ did the Treal axles. They look sweet. Hope you get one. They are fun👍
Had the same issue with the KYX metal transmission cover as well recently. That upper bearing mount was super tight, cause grinding of the gears like you say - money gone. The Treal metal Trans case I have in another had no issues at all. On that ESC tray, did you try loosening all the screws on the plate, mounting it up, then snugging them down? It installed for me, although it is made for the deadbolt, so it raises up the ESC in the JLU (assume it does on the C10 as well.) I'm slowly learning most of the metal is not worth it at this scale (other than the brass parts and metal links are great,) as it requires locktight (which sucks with this small hardware), you can't really trim to suit, and its much easier to cross-thread if barely out of alignment. Plus, I've had mixed results like you with fitment issues, especially aftermarket playing well with other aftermarket.
Great review of the hr parts. I've had issues with a few of their 1:10 parts, including trans cases & steering knuckles & c-hubs. I think they're a hit or miss company, sometimes you get the misses but I don't think it's due to design, just poor quality control & machining. Hopefully you get a replacement that works. 🤜🤛
Think I'm just going to leave the trans case stock, it's working good, and you never know....i may have something different in mind for the trans. Time will tell😎👍
For years I've steered away from hot racing due to poor metal quality and fitment issues. Thanks to a co worker I know that their brass goodies for the trx4's are top notch but besides the link setup for our scx24's I'd rather trust my money else where.
Yeah, treal is coming out with some SCX24 stuff too that I have been keeping an eye on. They may be having some of the same issues with some of their stuff. I guess its a coin toss sometimes. But this is one reason I reveiw this stuff for my veiwers
I had the same trouble with the hot racing trans case. My electronics plate i had trouble getting it to mount up too
I'm sorry to hear that. I know I was a bit disappointed, so I'm sure you were too. Thanks for the feedback 👍
I bought the pin/spur upgrade the aluminum spur gear was bent and now the truck is sticky in reverse
I love the Hot Racing steering links, skid plate, brass c hubs, and servo mount. Other than that the rest is kinda useless to me. Oh I like the aluminum front bumper on my Jeep and Yota. The shocks look good but that’s about it. The rest is take it or leave it to me lol. Great vid on the upgrades though! I just got the Reefs to test out as well. Haven’t installed it yet though.
Your gonna like the Reefs servo bro, it got muscle 💪
BullgearRC videos nice! It may just justify an entirely new build 😂
🤑🤑🤑nice builds
thanks bro!
You must have gotten bunk parts, my hr trans cases fit perfectly with out binding and so did my hr aluminum shock towers with their shockes no racking of the frame and evenly spaced from side to side of the shocks. Hopefully you can figure out whats creating your problems and good luck and have a blessed day
Trans case for sure is bunk. Will try shock mount on a different frame before i call it bad. Want to give it every opportunity. Thanks for watching bro👍
I'm gonna have to get me one of these things
They're fun bro👍
A crawler? Do it. They're literally one of my favorite hobbies. If not my favorite
@@davidmadison5582 an scx 24 I have a channel for making rc videos
I love your videos I learn more about rc cars and upgrades, also do you have the links and drive shaft upgraded to aluminum?
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy my videos.

I had zero issues with the Transmission housing. I dislike how open it is to the environment but it went together smooth.
Yes, I have heard mixed reviews about this part. Some say they had no issues. Others did like I did. So I have to think that overall production is inconsistent.
@@BullgearRCvideos did you get the matching engine cover? I’m pretty sure that’s your issue. I have both and I just remembered when I assembled it that I was glad I had both because I don’t think one works without the other. They go together but are sold separately
Very informative video (as are your others)! I have the SCX24 C10 and have a couple of questions for you. I will send them to you via email. My thanks and looking forward to your next video.
I had tons of trouble with the rear body mounts from HR. Required heavy modification for the C10. Do not waste your money on it!
Thanks for the heads up bro👊
What shocks are them nice build keep it up brother
Old man emu shocks by rc4wd for 1/18 scale. And thanks bro👍
how did u paint the no budget one, looks pretty sick
A friend painted it for me
Shapeways steering links are the only steering option imo
I'll look into them bro. But they're going to need to be strong to hold up to this Reefs steering servo
@@BullgearRCvideos I got the shapeways steering links with the savox mini & they hold up great. They come as a pair so I gave the 2nd set to Joey & he's has them paired with the reefs 99 & no problems yet. They are the Mod 19 RC links from Rex Racer. Definitely very good quality with no slop😉👍
Where did you get the custom painted body? Would love to have one for my truck.
It was a clear body that my friend painted for me
I have the 1/24 scale chevy pickup the gray one and I have the Chevy k10 littlecrawler the pickup
Thanks for watching bro👍
noob question coming at ya. What would it take to make my scx24 4WS? thanks a bunch
A second front axle and steering servo and wiring
What did you do to raise the truck? My tires rub the body
I put smaller tires, and different shocks
400th 👍
Does all that weight not fry your motor?
I haven't had any issues
Could someone help me out on the part numbers of those parts

With all that aluminum I hope you're running a 1/8 system lol.
We gave it some muscles 👍
300th like
Thanks brother👍
What shocks are on the truck?
Old man emu.
Contact hot racing with this video and pics of issues and they will replace them
I could, but it would take more time and effort than its worth to me
Is their s better motor for the scx c10
There are a few choices. But if you want a direct fit, the 100T hobby plus motor works really good and it's cheap. If you go back through my videos, you will find i did a video about this motor swap.
I had problems with there parts on my scx-24 took them back.
Ill be glad to see your Gremlin done.
me too. Tim is a busy guy, but I'm sure it will get done sooner or later
@@BullgearRCvideos I like the hell out of it.
@@kennethwelty1190 I do too, maybe you should tell Tim that, he's building it👍😎
I’ve never seen the two-tone body where can I get that

Thats allot of aluminum its frustrating when you buy upgrades and they don't fit properly lol you have enough money in this truck you could buy a scx10 lll funny how much you can get wrapped upnin a micro build looks great
You know it bro. She is a 10iii for sure🤣 but it is what it is I guess.
@@BullgearRCvideos lol i look at my builds when im done a can't believe how much i get wrapped uo in them lol i have enough in my Tamiya CR-01 i could have bought a outcast 8s,🤣🤣🤣
@@AdventureTimeRC lol, I have driven cars that cost less than some of my RC trucks. Especially UGLY BUBBA. This is why I am looking at a premium rc for my next purchase. One that needs very little upgrades.

Hi
Hey👊
HR is garbage i have a couple of parts on my e-revo 2.0 and on the mini-z buggy and if you put in the front c hubs one wheels BB dosnt line up the wheel wont spinn.
The holes are not threaded all way. completly. On the aluminium shock towers they have different screw holes than factory but no screws. The tollerances are more loose than factory plastic parts from Kyosho or traxxas :) i would not put them on any gearbox or axles. They are mostly just bling.
Yeah... quality doesn't justify the price
