I have same color combination, recently acquired a Tonneau cover for when top is down it makes for a great looking vehicle. Sister gave me vehicle with 50,000 miles, new tires, inspected, love driving vehicle and the look.

I’ve had my silver ‘08 convertible for several years. I bought it used with 65k miles and it now has 130k. All I’ve done to it is the timing belt and it runs great. It’s always been garaged so no interior cracking issues. Two rear seats because it’s narrower to make room for the top mechanism. You got a great deal and the tan top is the factory color and looks great.

Congrats on the find. Love my 08 solara fully optioned I scored off the first owner at 120k. It had been garaged and well maintained no dash cracks. I put in a Sony Apple car play unit with a backup camera. Everything works and I’m getting ready to do the timing belt as while the prior owner said it was done I can’t confirm and don’t want to gamble. I did the rear struts (leaking) and all the tires. I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on a 2011 Lexus IS 350c. Be nice to have two convertibles, let the wife take over the solara. Can’t wait to have a rear wheel drive coupe again.

Nice! Check me out on Facebook under Anthony’s Stablemates. I’m going to post up my timing belt job receipt.

Mines going in next week. Doing the water pump at the same time as it’s hard to get to might as well do it now. I think Toyota sells them together as a kit.

You have left a note on the wind shield of my car, VW GTI 2003.

At a local upholstery shop in MD. Are you near MD? It was almost $2500 installed and I know it doesn’t have to be that high. Might have better luck shopping around.

I have a chance to buy the same car , same color, for $7k. 120,000 miles
    What do you think?

It depends on how much you’d have to put into it. Mine had a brand new $2500 top. But I still had to pay $1100 for 4 new tires and sensors, $300 for a new windshield, and I’m about to drop another grand on the timing belt/water pump service which is due around 100k miles. If yours is up to date on all service and doesn’t need anything that’s a good deal. If you’re not sure how much you’d have to put into it, have a pre purchase inspection and get a good idea. The actual cost to you is not just how much you will pay for the car but how much it will cost to get you ready for the next 100,000 miles.

@@anthonyschreiber I’m assuming nothing at that price. But she’s the original owner and has all the service records. I can go to a used car lot that has an 06 with same miles for $5k, but I don’t trust used car salesman, and that ones had 3 owners.

@@anthonyschreiber very true statement. Sadly I was on the wrong end with a 94k '08 Solara SLE for my daughter. Tires/Sensors, Brakes, Timing Belt kit, Top, and the really bad news, CVs/Rack/Struts. Oh and the digital climate control module had to be replaced. There other little bits & bobs. I have surpassed the car's 7k cost by a bit.
Though the body/engine/trans checked out in superb shape. All the things I replaced at the last few weeks, I argue would have needed attention in the next few years anyways but now its done.
I've done a lot of eBay, various Toyota Online sites, even local Pick-N-Pull. Some install myself, while others by a shop.
