Super in depth video. Thank you for taking the time to make this. I did want to mention that you shouldn't need to trim the honey comb. They are cut to size already. You only need to work it into the velocity stack. 30sec install, tops. It will conform and the additional tension keeps it in place. Also the heatshield placement is slightly off. The forward edge of the shield should be between the headlight adjuster and the triangle tab on the core support. This way, it is 90deg to the inlet tube and it fits the engine mount and AC lines more snuggly. Great video!
If it isn’t the man himself! Yes, I realize my heatshield placement is off :( Another viewer brought it to my attention and sure enough I was in the wrong. For the honeycomb, I just didn’t want to have a lot of bent pieces against the tube, so I trimmed a few. Thanks for a wonderful product that’s still going strong today! Love the loud sucking sound when throttling under load. Much more air!!
Checking the AC lines is a great tip most people don't think of, but you don't have the heat shield installed properly the front edge of the heat sheild should be to the left of the white headlight ajuster
I see what you’re saying about headlight adjustment part. I looked at the install and remembered why it wouldn’t fit that way. Parts of my headlight retrofit prevent it from seating there. The footage from this video was taken way back in 2018. Thus far it’s been in that same incorrect location for 3 years without incident. Seriously though, thanks for pointing that out.
Great video... I have learned alot from your videos... I myself have the Zzp closed cold air intake I think it's a lot easier to install than the Mp fab intake .. Check out there video on it I think you would agree plus it looks a lot cleaner and it actually closes off the open part keeping less hot air from getting into the air filter plus still gives a great Hissss sound ... have a great day from your fellow Sonic rs owner Dakota ...
The initial hissing-sucking sound is what changed by installing the new intake. The blow-off when the throttle is released came from the aftermarket bypass valve I installed prior to the intake. There’s a video of that on my channel as well.
We don’t have the diesel Aveo in the USA. If the MAF sensor is the same I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. It’s just a path for air to take through a filter.
@@DIYToonaThanks friend, that deflector seems better than the k&n, I would be very grateful if you help me with a mold of the deflector. I would like to make one, you will know what material it is made of.Thank you and many greetings
Not that I’m aware of. That code will pop if the MAF isn’t installed correctly, or was left disconnected. Also if the connection beyond the sensor aren’t on all the way, extra unmetered air will make its way into the turbo inlet, causing the code as well.

Soo thorough I forgot I was on Earth
I’m glad it could help.
Did you already have the updated blow off valve before you installed new intake.
Yes I did.
Is the sound coming from the intake only or the intake + the Bypass valve that you change?
The initial hissing-sucking sound is what changed by installing the new intake. The blow-off when the throttle is released came from the aftermarket bypass valve I installed prior to the intake. There’s a video of that on my channel as well.
Why would you do this over a K&N? This seems like a pain to install.
Looks and sounds great! Is it competible with diesel sonic?

is it carb compliant?
What is the cost friend? Greetings from Mexico
$300 USD from www.mpfab.com/shop

@@2PacMejia I did not make it. It was made by Morgan Performance Fabrication.
@@DIYToonaMy friend, could you tell me what material the deflector is made of? And how many millimeters thick is it? Greetings

Could this intake cause P1101 code?

I'm selling my sonic ltz but still a great video
