Yea the amazing solo kirk does send me anything close Joe has done to compare. He is of course good in his own right but to me soulful is not easy for him to access and that's what matters to me
Josh Smith is in a different league to others. I don't think Matt, Kirk, and Eric are on Josh level. Josh improvisations language and vocabulary are out of this world, its like he is breathing music night and day. You can even throw him the most demanding jazz songs and he can improvise over it easy. The only guitarist nowadays who combine blues, jazz, and country seamlessly.
What planet are you from Mr. King? To leave Joe Bonamassa out of this is just ridiculous. Joe is head and shoulders above any living Blues Guitarist today, and he just gets better. No disrespect to these 4 great guitarists; but Joe is the man.
Joe Bonamassa makes the most money playing Blues and thats awesome. And he did have a great 2018 but I just prefer others for musical inspiration, Kirk's Solo at the start of this video is so unbelievable. Its all subjective.
I saw him at his palmy show in 2018. He was frankly more of a vocalist at that gig and didn't really do more than play rhythm. His new stuff is really good however.
These guys are mighty good guitar players, but what I'm hearing here is blues based. I don't think any of them are playing blues music at all - this is more like a healthy nod to their forebears. Robben Ford I do like.
Couldnt' agree with you more. I've jammed with both Kirk and Matt.

Chris Cain !!!! nuff said...
Dude at the end though!
Rovid Bouski frfr
the guitar is upside down.... No, not hendrix upside down.. the strings are upside down
What does that have to do with Eric Gales being a bad ass guitar player?
Phillip Sayce will be on the top of every guitarist list pretty soon. Solid picks tho nonetheless. Thanks for the video.
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great list. Any one of these guys want to play after Eric though?
or Bonamassa
Clapton or Johnson 🤣
Holy shit.....
Sorry but is there a reason that I dont see Joe Bonamassa in this short list?

I'm just glad Samantha Fish hasn't been considered... TG
Robben Ford....where is his name?

How are they not playing blues based music?
@@jed1mindtricks857 he said blues based, this isn't pure blues. Prince Bonnie prefers the authentic blues. B.B King, John Lee Hooker, that stuff.
