Hi, which foot to tap? I hold my guitar in "classic pose" (in b/w 2 feet). I tend to tap my right foot. It's really difficult not to let my foot follow my hands. Ideally the hands should follow the beat of the foot, right? Any tips to improve that one?
I guess I didn’t have to scroll down very far to find someone beat to the same line. That’s was that best man. Dylan could write his ass off, but couldn’t sing a lick.
I know!! It's the golden age for getting back into guitar! So much easier than learning from ear/tab/word of mouth/by hook or by crook (as I did 20 yrs ago!)
And as I did 48 years ago! …man, I remember, wearing out records playing over and over again to learn the licks. if I would have had all of these amazing ways to learn I would’ve saved myself years and years of time. The newer generations have no idea how easy they have it in learning to play.
Wow. Just watching and listening to you for 5 minutes and you've given me more information than all of the guitar teachers I've ever had. This is information I've been looking for for a long, long time. Thank you so much and I'll see you over at patreon.
I've watched lots of UA-cams on playing the blues but they either have a presenter who wants to just show off his guitar playing skills rather than teach it or they go into such deep technical issues that it becomes way too complex. This is the first video that just strips it down so you can play blues licks yourself by the end of the video and just get better with practice. Really great video.
I am an ok player, but been plateaued for 7 months. I just watched your "3 Hendrix Tips," FINALLY I reached an entire new stage in my playing!!! No more boring chord progressions then a crappy 9 note solo. An ENTIRE NEW WORLD JUST OPENED UP!!!! January 1st 2020, THIS YEAR IS GOING TO BE THE BEST, MOST IMPORTANT AND FUN YEAR OF MY GUITAR JOURNEY!!!! Thank you! I'm excited about playing again, finally!!! SWEEEEET!!!!
I have been playing a long time. Your tips, licks etc are outstanding. Such a young guy with so much soul. It is your humility and curiosity that allows you to be great. As someone else said, your voice is also outstanding. I have learned so much from you and wish you all the best.
I wish I`ve met you 60 years ago...now I`m 71 :-( anyway I`m glad to found you here on youtube and I think it`s not to late to play guitar. thx man, you are an great teacher....one of the best here and I wish you a lot of success in your life ;-)
@@bluesmani1 You're welcome. I started playing at age 16. I played daily for 4 years, then my playing became less often, and I finally stopped because I couldn't break out of ruts. I was self taught. I just picked it up again after around 20 years. I'm very rusty. My chops are shot, but all these yrs I've even hearing tunes in my head, and UA-cam tutorials reinspired me. I know if I don't play again to try to put the thoughts to fingerboard, I'll regret it. So here goes again! If I get back to reasonable good, I'll record it on here. so nice that you mentioned Tommy Emmanuel. For me he's one of the best guitarists in the history. In fact, I cannot think of anyone who can do better than him with just 1 guitar.
This was one of the best presented tutorials, both for content and organization, of any that I’ve seen on the internet. THEN, for content mastery, yours is second to none as I watched you working the fretboard. Thank you for being so prepared and for offering so much. I encourage your viewers to be avid supporters, as well.
I'm a born and raised Aussie and I was fortunate to see Tommy Emmanuel about thirty years ago before his move to the U.S and his world fame rise thanks to the Interweb/youtube revolution. I was in the second four-seater table in a small club at "The Rocks" in Sydney and though the club was full it was/is only about a 120 ish venue so it's a great intimate place to see someone like TE. He played three sets, an electric set with band, a solo acoustic set in the style of what he does exclusively now and then a repeat of set I. It was a great night as I'm sure you can appreciate and though I've seen him twice since, the last time just recently at the Opera House in Sydney, I count that night at the Rocks amongst my most memorable and enjoyable of all bands/soloists that I've ever seen. Btw Great advice on blues playing be it solo or with a band. Good stuff !!

This was fantastic, I really enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing such wonderful tips.
You are a GREAT teacher REALLY GREAT! I love the way that you make the class so interesting, I learn so much from you and I discovered you yesterday! You play so well and I'd like to add that you're my new crush 😂💗
Man I LOVE your videos, it'd be great if you could get deeper into the blues and teach us not just licks but the thinking behind licks so that we can work on them on our own. Great video as always!
Good suggestion, i will look into that, could make a cool video! Thx!
