Joe has done so much for the guitar in the last 15 yrs. Every time you think it's starting to die someone like Joe comes along and influences a whole other generation. He always gives something back to the players too..a seminar, published tabs he's always trying to help others get better. I just found out about Eric a few yrs ago but man is he something. So the figures are clear being cooked . For example If a person has AIDS and they have a heart attack and die , AIDS doesn't go down as the cause . Heart failure does . So I wonder why they're putting covid down ?????
Been studying music theory since the pandemic lockdown and I actually managed to spot where Eric Gales went into Phrygian. I can now justify to my partner that I need to buy an Old Les Paul.
Depending on how old you go ,you could be talking high six figures. If I could make a suggestion, go with a prs ce24 or a McCarty. Amazing sound to go with a great feel, and no where near the qc issues of a newer gibson
Had to google that one Jonathan, however you're absolutely right, as soon as you hear and understand the scale, their ripping solos come through clearly! Deadset legends, the pair of them! Looking forward to a Keeping the Blues Alive Cruise one day!
Cleary amazing on both parts. But also keep in mind that when Joe mirrors Eric's riffs, he's looking at them being played upside down and them recreating them right side up..... So much respect for Joe on that and for bringing Eric on stage for this truly GREAT performance!!
Well, joe it isn't so much watching what Eric is doing to recreate it, he's more recreating it by ear. When you get to a certain level on guitar you're able to know what notes are going to sound like before you play them. Basically you are able to play anything that you can think of or hear in your brain and know where to put your fingers on the fret board to make those notes happen. Joe already knows where to put his fingers to mirror Eric without really having to see where he is playing his licks. His ear and years and years of practice allow him to play precisely what he hears and intends to play. I think he's watching him so much just because of the fact that he plays upside down to begin with and to a normal-playing guitarist it is always interesting to see someone playing like that.
Damn! Front row at Eric Gales at a NC blues festival years ago. A live wire, massive stage presence, shredded the guitar and vocals. He tore the the place down. Awesome to run across this.
I saw Joe also in NC, but on his own tour. It was fricking amazing, he handed me the pick, set list, and the drummer gave me the drumsticks, and my dad bought me a signed JB 335, I will never forget this day. This year too
Sweet guitar rocking Baby Jesus! These guys killed it! Huge Bonamassa fan but cannot say I have run across Mr. Gales' performances before. Awesome energy and talent!

I'm not trying to seem superior, but I have been listening to Eric Gales since I bought his first album in 1991 when he was only 15 years old. The guy is amazing and genuinely humble and real. Watching him grow over the years has been awesome. And he has a lot in common with Joe because they were both child prodigies. Great bond.
I played with a band that opened for Eric in September in Mississippi. We all had a blast! Eric was also extremely nice and gracious. I enjoyed his set and company immensely. Man what a unique, genuine bad ass!
Eric was Eric 20 years before anyone knew Joe. He was the next big thing before drugs and some time in the big house stopped his trajectory. You can find early Eric in UA-cam playing on the Arsenio Hall Show. Glad to see him making his way back to the top.

Been a guitarist for over 20 years but took a long break from playing. Grew up on blues but eventually my tastes and style of playing moved towards prog rock/metal and the like. Now I'm just getting back into playing and figured I'd get back to my blues roots instead of jumping right back into the highly technical style of prog playing I grew accustomed to. Long story short - I googled who the face of blues guitar was this era and these two names were what popped up. I am absolutely amazed by both of their ability to blend advanced technique with the heart and soul that is the essence of blues guitar. I was planning on using my blues roots to get back to where I was in terms of playing - but after hearing this, I think I'll be staying put.
@@buddyboy6071 I agree. Joe is talented technically, no question about it. But where's the soul? Shredding isn't impressive. Frankly I'd rather listen to Eddie Van Halen because at least there's context. I realize this piece isn't blues/rock but compare it to Billy Gibbon's or Chuck Berry or most of the blues masters and it comes off flat. But what do I know? People seem to like it.

And the many days on end spent in studio recording. I learned more in those years than my whole life combined.
This reminds me of those incredible jam sessions. Man, how cool these guitarist are! So fun and amazingly talented. I've gotta see this guy live!!! Thank you for that great show! 🎶❤✌👍
Hi pretty lady. How are you?
That is the best thing I have seen this year, whether in real life or on social media - no more words necessary . .. . . .
They looked like they had so much fun, it was really contagious. 😁👍
He plays an upside down string layout...just like Albert King used to do. Incredible !
truly incredible as well as jimmy hendrix playing it upside down
Jesus Christ...this is the greatest thing I've ever heard. And the only thing I'll need to get through this pandemic from this day forward...
@Johnny Crustacean you said it my friend. Music is the ONLY thing that brings all races, sides, and cultures together. This clip is an encapsulation of that. ✌
@Johnny Crustacean Holy Smoke ... and Eric Gales plays a normal right-handed Strat, only turned around strings reverse too ... never minded by myself 😳 2 real freaks !!!
What keeps me going through the Plandemic is good music and the knowledge that the virus is a scam
@Vance Watley I agree that it's a scam, but I also believe that people are still dying from it. I believe that's what we call a false flag.
@@mattstephens6137 I know of 3 people ( 1 friend and 2 friends of a friend. ) who've died in the last 7 weeks and each of their autopsy reports said Covid was the cause.
1 died of choking on food. 1 had a heart attack and the 3rd was a car crash .
So the figures are clear being cooked .
For example If a person has AIDS and they have a heart attack and die , AIDS doesn't go down as the cause . Heart failure does .
So I wonder why they're putting covid down ?????
Not dueling but feeding off each other as both drive and inspiration......beautiful.
Right, with yrs of work behind it. Never stop playin, y'all!
Albert King & Stevie Ray Vaughn were looking down from heaven & smiling ear to ear saying: "We got ourselves a couple of top students of ours"
heaven?
In the time of division maybe this kind of brilliant music can bring us all together. I can only hope.
The Division has been planned since the 60's, they is no Division amongst the people only the one created to control us.
Music never bought people together. Just physically in an arena.
Been studying music theory since the pandemic lockdown and I actually managed to spot where Eric Gales went into Phrygian. I can now justify to my partner that I need to buy an Old Les Paul.
Some modal mixing for you;)
I could spot the changes but can't recognize what he's changed to, but I can sure enjoy it 😁
keep going forward!
Depending on how old you go ,you could be talking high six figures. If I could make a suggestion, go with a prs ce24 or a McCarty. Amazing sound to go with a great feel, and no where near the qc issues of a newer gibson
@@DocStrange30No character in those new brands though
Mind blowing.Stunning and absolutely mesmerizing. Two guitar players at the very top of their game.
Strat vs Les Paul in the hands of these two, We all Win!! Fantastic Jam!!!
Strat
Stratocasters and Les Paul's compliment each other well
Some times Les is more
@@jcboutoire sometimes a Strat is where it's at

What a jam, feeding off each other musical talents and having fun. Thanks for posting this amazing duet. Rock on brother's and sister's..✌😎✌
At 2:42 look at the happiness on Erics face when he turns something up on his pedals. You just know that he's ready
This is incredible! Wow they both play with such effortless mastery and so clean, every note stands out! The humm from Eric's strat is so bad ass!
I have tears and a load of goose bumps. These are two of my three favorite guitar players living. Thanks to whoever captured this moment.
I've seen them both live. I would say who was better .....if I didn't just rock the f*** out every time I'm at a live show. Lol
Who’s the third?
@@TheRoroCuz Gary Clark Jr.
@@TheRoroCuz he is different. He inspires me to play like me.
i love love love to watch it, maybe 1000 times, the smile on the face from eric and joe speaks for itself, this is pure entertainment!
Joe should jam with Eric more often. He brings out more soul in his vocals.
they need to start a damn band like now
Insane performance by incredible talent! It just doesn't get any better than that!
Got some Phrygian Dominant progression going on in that bridge and it’s delicious.
Had to google that one Jonathan, however you're absolutely right, as soon as you hear and understand the scale, their ripping solos come through clearly! Deadset legends, the pair of them! Looking forward to a Keeping the Blues Alive Cruise one day!
That's the best 13 min. of Blues/Rock I've heard in a lonnnnnng time! Don't get any better than that...oh to have been there...
@hans meier well, I play guitar and I agree with him, so there's that.
This year too
I was also front row, lol!
Sweet guitar rocking Baby Jesus! These guys killed it! Huge Bonamassa fan but cannot say I have run across Mr. Gales' performances before. Awesome energy and talent!
Give a listen to Gary Clark Jr. and Eric Gales play “When my train comes in”
That's no competition... That's just the two best guitarists around punching it right out. No losers,,, just perfection doing what it does. Mind,,,, blown!
Eric and Joe…guitar soulmates!
Fun and good times!
Really love this!
I am just floored to see two of the finest ever Duel on their instruments and blow each other away , along with all of us . Thanks Eric and Joe !
Eric Always puts a smile on my Face. wow what a Musician. you can really feel the love in his playing
So jealous that I couldn’t see this live!
Mannnn what talents. We all know Joe is good but this Eric Gales is certainly making a name and reputation for himself.
Great bond.
I'm just glad to know he's on the straight and narrow. Dude is already a legend.
I played with a band that opened for Eric in September in Mississippi. We all had a blast! Eric was also extremely nice and gracious. I enjoyed his set and company immensely. Man what a unique, genuine bad ass!
Yeah he's an awesome player. Keeps getting better.
Eric was Eric 20 years before anyone knew Joe. He was the next big thing before drugs and some time in the big house stopped his trajectory. You can find early Eric in UA-cam playing on the Arsenio Hall Show. Glad to see him making his way back to the top.
Everyone of these comments are my thoughts exactly...You ALL are great and fantastic people/players to recognize and respect these masters...thank you all.. Much Respect and Love from St Petersburg Florida....
And we get crap for the Super Bowl halftime shows....
teejay Trujillo you say that to the nfl and drop the mic dam right
Ain't that the truth!
teejay Trujillo I couldn’t tell you how many years it’s been since I watched an nfl game... and I haven’t missed it at all!!
teejay Trujillo So true, what a shame indeed. The nfl should be a little more picky...
This is how real music looks and sounds like! JB and his band rock!
Have been to three live concerts and what a performance!
But who would want to watch football after this???
Personally I think only Eric has heart and soul in his playing. Joe is technically amazing but he is like a robot.
Dying. Discovering this in 2021 and wondering where it has been all of my life.
These two don't just hear music... they FEEL it.
For those who have ears to hear...music bypasses the brain and goes right to the spirit.
Bonamassa is incredible. His stuff with Beth Hart is crazy...
@Joe Bonamassa we talk through music so you should have my scale mail..?
Watched Eric Gales on Arsenio Hall when he was 16 still watching him.
One hell of a guitarist,,it's still David Gilmore for me
First time seeing this… mind blowing. You gotta love the sheer joy from them both playing together
My friends you're listening to the highest form of the art. Incredible gifts from God above they have. Not many people truly can appreciate the genius and complexity of these two playing.
I’m pretty sure anyone who listens to this would appreciate it even if it’s not to their taste 😆
Love how Eric shows so much pleasure here,
And Joe, too!
Makes me get happy !!!!!
True ! Feel the same
happy. there are different levels. im there at the apogy right with you. holy wow. respect. i see it too. time to eat, and then round 6.
Both are so in love - it is LIKE they are 'making' love w/the Guitars!!!!! :)
That is the most awesome toe to toe Guitar Jam I've seen since Warren Haynes and Robben Ford went at it in Byron Bay at Bluesfest 2014
I love seeing great guitarists play with each other, and APPRECIATE each other!
