Great Video, I'm looking into making a squat rack myself (Rogue is really expensive) would you be kind enough to show me your design on where you drilled your holes on each side of the metal?
I will build one rack too! It will be a Rogue Monster RM-3 replica. I have access to a laser tube cutter so, it will be way easier to build. It will be made out of 3x3 7 guage. I also made a model for the jammer arms. Can’t wait to do it.
Great job; the rack looks amazing. Quick question - do you sell the blueprint you used for construction? Planning on building one and would love to follow your design; I’m sure others would love to buy them to. Please let me know! Thanks!
Would you consider making and selling the fixture you used to drill the pilot holes? That looks like it would make life super easy. Just a standard 6 or 8ft length and 2in hole spacing. Looks like it sped up the project immensely
Would love to see some sort of build sheet for dimensions and amount of holes, etc.? there are no rogue racks in gyms to look at near me and wanna start on this like tomorrow, would you know where i can find one?
Amazing but too fast to learn from it And please tell us more about the dimensions in details And about the parts that isn't included in video I salute you
Hey, Mr.Gardners Garage Workshop, nice rack! lol Nicely done. I've been looking into making my own power rack as well but youtube vids are few and far between (good ones are even rarer) so I'm glad you made this video. I'll be sure to share it in hopes you get more views. If you made plans for this available, I'd happily purchase them from you. I'm sure people would be willing to buy them. keep up the phenomenal work!
@@GardnersGarage Your work is quite inspiring man. I became a big fan of yours. If you send me the drawings i would be greatful.. My e mail is debasisrmohanty@gmail.com
This one cost me about $400 canadian... for all the steel, j-hooks and bolts. When you compare it to Rogue at approx. $1700 its a lot cheaper! However it is a LOT of work drilling all those holes. The j-hooks i bought from fitness depot. I have made them in the past. But after I pay a fabrication shop to bend the parts required and find plastic for them it costs as much or more then buying them pre-made. Plus the ones I buy come powder coated.
GREAT JOB! I see this video was made in February so how has it held up in the past two months? Trying to make my own but not sure if bolting it together would be less stable than welding everything together. Any thoughts or recommendations on that?
the squat rack has held up fine, It will never move or fall apart. Bolting together I would say is as stable. I'd trust the strength of bolts over welds .. however. I only bolted it together so I can transport it if I sell it easier, or if I want to take it apart and repaint it one day. I have made several that were welded together, and several that were bolted together. Only problem with bolting together is that the cost of the bolts add up quick when you need this many. It was around $80 in bolts ... they are 5/8" bolts and a number of them are 4.5" long... thanks for watching!
It's really amazing what your doing. What type of drill press are you using? I'm looking to buy a good quality one for an affordable price. Any suggestions?
great video, thank you for the upload, I have a question, i have the 2×3 11 gauge steel, and I was thinking about upgrading to the 3x3 11 gague steel have you ever consider doing 3x3? i wonder if been 3x3 would make the rack way more stronger and durable? also my steel is made in Canada, is the steel quality the same as the USA or better? usually use northern light brand on the uprights are you familiar with them? thank you so much .
Hey I just finished one made of 3x3, I didnt make a video.. dont wanna bore everyone with another squat rack video. I dont think its any stronger, it just looks bigger and badder. The 2x3 11 gauge is what I usually build it out of, its plenty strong. If you look at the power lifting competitions and often they use the 2 uprights and its amazing how much they hold. But I'm sure there's nobody alive that can lift enough weight to wreck a squat rack. Even look at the Westside barbell guys.
Gardners Garage No champ, That's a squat rack. A squat stand is only two rods with a base much like yoke walk without the centre adjoining. You can move it easily. On the back it has dips attachment. Very different than this rack. Google it you'll know what I'm saying. You can make it better.
Miloš Marković hmm judging by your video with you doing lat pull downs on your rack .. id say the lat pull down doesn't work and is there fore is also a waste of space. Or maybe u just need to use it more. Either way thank you for the nice words I worked hard on it.
Hi there. I just want to ask how many inches apart are the holes on the side post are, on the four post. Are they necessary what are they for? Planning to get one made. Thank u
Christian Dimabuyu hi they are 6" apart. Don't serve a huge purpose other then if u want to lower the pull-up bars or add in some sort of attachments u can
Great job; the rack looks amazing. Quick question - do you sell the blueprint you used for construction? Planning on building one and would love to follow your design; I’m sure others would love to buy them to. Please let me know! Thanks!

Wow...better than what i bought

It does make it easy. I have them 1” apart so I can do the 2” hole spacing and the 1” like the west side barbell spacing
What kind of paint and primer are you spraying?
Hi nice rack, what thickness are the plates welded to the box section that are bolted together?
Very well done!
Just did something similar. Liked the vid! This needs more views
It's grateful ....
could you make a pull up bar for wall mounting please?
How can I squat heavy alone?
Was that regular spray paint ? Can the holes be done with a hand drill ?
This is awesome work. Do you have blueprints for this?

Hi Gardners Garage Workshop, nicely done! It looks like a "proffessional" rack from the store. Do you have some drawing and a cost list :)
Ps where did you buy the J-hooks

very nice awesome

Very inspired on building one, any blue prints or drawings with dimensions?

Big ass drill press sure makes life easier...
sure does!
What were you spraying on the steel before you welded?
its called Anti-Splatter. makes clean up before paint fast and easy because the splatter doesnt stick to the steel
Big D's Garage do most welding supply shops sell it? Sorry for all the questions. I just bought a MIG and I'm new to welding.
Rockin' WoodWerks yep. Home Depot has it. If u r in Canada, Princess Auto has it
Big D's Garage thanks man!
Any chance I could get the plans for this?
Well done! Where did you get the metal and what was the cost?
Just a local metal supply store. About 400$ canadian

if it does not have lat pull, rows ,disp, pullup bar ect, I call it a waste of time, space and material. But it is built nicely.

Gardners Garage Workshop lat pull down doesn't work? I have 2 half racks and one full cage with all features and they all work just fine.

need sa measurement sir.
Can you send me your sketch/CAD for this project?
Also where can I get one of those hole jig fixtures you used to mark perfect pilots?
Probably he made it by himself, for an one-off use you can make the same thing from plexy glass for easier use.
Angelos Klidaras is like to see that! 😱
Beautiful
