Excited to see ATX come to the states next year. Hope you can get your hands on some of their stuff to review. Looks like they have created some new details and functions for their gear that we haven’t seen from Rep/Rogue/Titan.
Beautiful, I couldn't agree w you guys more about working out at home as opposed to going to gym. So convenient to get your work out at home as a FAMILY MAN.

@@lambdastrength1286 dude, you are a beast and your home gym is Very stylish. Mine has similar (but way cheaper) equipment and for versatility reasons I will switch my lat pulldown/low pulley for two functional trainers.
My OCD is drooling. I'm stealing that band idea with the upper and lower so they stay straight. That's a cool look. I could do that easily with 2 weight horns on the side of my rack.
Haha awesome home gym. Id offer my home gym up for viewing but my setup is way more economical. Built my dumbbell rack out of 2x12 douglas fir. One car garage too. Built it before covid so it was perfect timing. I started with a ceiling pull up bar. Then added a skierg, rogue bike, cable machine, and assault runner. Next items will be concept2 rower, peppin adjustable dumbbell and rearrange my 2x12 shelving system, and a folding rack. Oh and i built a diy sled.
I was lucky enough to snag that same ATX lat tower at HomeGymCon. It was a tight squeeze but I managed to fit it into my basement. You’re always welcome to swing by for a lift and a gym tour bro!
I could use your advice om my home gym. I'm on the come back trail after a long illness. 64 years old. My gyms pretty cool I think. Gonna go through a bunch of your videos. You are so down to earth and informative. I bought the nord ex shogun because of your review.
What are you trying to accomplish in your training? A good bar and rack are essential. The bar is your connection to the weight to quote Mark Rippetoe. The rack is what you base your gym around for future expansion. Unless you are a competitive lifter weight is just weight. Unless you have the money for US made or competition plates I wouldn't stress on that. I think adjustable dumbbells are grossly overrated since most are less than durable. Cables are also overrated in my opinion since you can accomplish a lot of the same things with bands. Not to mention they are really expensive. I'd say look used but it seems at least where I live it's just absolute garbage on marketplace or Craigslist. Not sure if that is everywhere.
I’ve got the ATX lat pull-down and squat rack in my home gym, and can say they are the best pieces of equipment I have brought in the last 10 years. Thankfully they are easy to get here in Australia
I’m planning on doing something similar with my 18X12 detached form stone block garage. Although the bar rack did look like a display for a convention or something, it's a great home setup, especially if they see clients.
Between REP and ATX, Rogue should have all the motivation they need to start thinking of new ideas and designs. Either adapt or become extinct. The market is fierce.
@@Pler1978the problem is just that-they aren’t going ANYWHERE 😂 which means they’re slowly falling behind. And ATX doesn’t seem like a “budget” line. And REP is as innovative as ever. And if they were not hurting a little bit then why did they just drop the prices on their equipment like $400 to try to make it compete with Rep.?
@@Pler1978it's not about going after the budget market - it's about keeping up with innovation. I switched from Rogue to Rep because of how far behind they'd fallen with the lack of a good pulley system. By the time they came out I was already fully integrated with Rep.
You guys make it sound Rep is the first company to make a cable system. They still don't sell calibrated plates which is a staple product. They copied Elieko on the open trap bar. Their bars are mid at best. I was looking at them 2 years ago at the Arnold and wasn't impressed for the price. Add in they charge premium prices for made in China equipment and I don't get the obsession. About the only thing they do better than the competition are the benches. The rest isn't anything revolutionary.
On Gluck's review of Home Fitness Con day 2 - he went to ATX - who say they want to enter USA in the next 18 months They showed the tower - and the comments exploded. Look at their prices in Germany, realizing that their prices include 19% sales tax....might be a real new entrant with a GIANT ecosystem ready at VERY affordable prices (4 different belt squats from 300-2k€)
My question is what will shipping and other fees do to the prices. Just because it appears inexpensive doesn't necessarily translate to the final cost here. I would be interested in trying one of their made in Germany bars to compare to a Texas, Kabuki or Rogue power bar. $650 is a lot for a bar and I'm curious if it is worth the $200+ price difference. Or do I just spend all the cash on the Elieko. The rest I'm just not really excited about. Made in China is something I avoid when I can at least for my home gym. Especially when I have a company that makes stuff in the US 2 hours south of me.
@@bmstylee They say 12 to 18 months until they enter the US market - and they would be going via distributors and the like, and their endgoal would be to have their own warehouse there. Most of their stuff is likely made in China (you do not have to publish that in Europe), and there is no reason why they would bring equipment intended for the US market to Germany.
@@stephenmcnamara8318 i get that. They have made in Germany IPF approved bars. I would like to try one of those to see if they are worth spending extra cash on over the usual suspects.
Sick setup! home gym dad checking in re: home gym being the way to train as a parent. Hard agree, I just wouldn't get to an actual gym consistently. I also am an idiot and love gear
@GarageGymReviews Designers are missing the obvious with those pull-pins inside the handles. Just make the part your hand touches go all the way across the same width as the handle, in parallel, so when you grip it all of your fingers lay over the pull-part to pull the pin out and with the springloaded build it releases the pin when you let go. Easy and intuitive. No odd thumb-around-handle-and-two-random-fingers-pulling-pin bullshid.
Love that Coop wishes to see more ATX at the states, when ironically they were at HomeGymCon, and he already explained why he didn't go. Looks like Coop (just like Rogue) might be resting on his laurels while ATX and the other Garage Gym channels are coming for Rogue/Coop's Lunch
I am patiently waiting for Life Fitness/Hammer Strength to release their new cable functional trainer add on to their power racks. My rep told me end of year. I really don't want to buy two large pieces of gear due to space in garage. Rogue has one but it requires bolt down and I refuse to drill holes in my garage concrete flooring.
Build my garagegym with all atx equipment. They are constantly innovating and I'm very happy with it. Only downside is I'm missing a few pieces and they bin out of stock for months... wonder how they gonna supply the US.
I've had my eye on ATX (also branded as Barbarian) equipment for years. It's German made. They have dealers all over the world except the USA. What does Germany have against us? We never did anything to them. Actually, I suspect it may possible have something to do with Powertec. Powertec dealers around the world were selling Powertec until Barbarian came along which was a knock off of Powertec equipment, except with improvements right out of the gate, then just evolved with innovation. But, that's just my observation.
Its not made in Germany, but in China(according to the boxes I for my atx stuff in). It is however designed in Germany and seems really high quality to me.
