Great presentation. I think there is great interest for the ritfit squat rack you showed. I think the home gym community is really showing signs of excellence. Some great ideas are being shared here. Just walking in that garage will make anyone want to work out.
Looks great, it's amazing what just taking everything out, painting, and putting things back in better order makes. My wife and I are doing the same thing. The other big splurge is putting in a split-level heating and cooling unit. I know it's cool to work out with just the garage door open like it's a CrossFit box but I'm in Oklahoma and if you can't work out at 5AM in the summer you will want to die latter, so $5,000 well spent. Plus, now in the winter I can make it toasty in there to smoke my cigars!
I would say, sell all the dumbbells and just invest in REP’s QuickDraws. You’d be out a couple hundred maybe and it’d be worth it for the space and having full range from 5-60lbs. Love the warranty on them as well. Just a bit bulkier when you get north of 30ish pounds.
Really cool gym. I also have some tools in the garage gym. I found that french cleats and just standard racking works great. We have a combo rack, power rack and deadlift platform in a 400sq ft space.
Sheesh - strong work as always. Moving in a couple of weeks & looking to build a 12x16 garden office, and considering trying to squeeze a small rack bar & some adjustable DBs in there, but not sure how it'll fit! Looks good
Thanks dude! You can do a lot with that size, you’d be surprised! PRX has some good space saving options for a rack (a little over priced) or the Rogue RML-3W is a great choice. (You can also get a ton of accessories with that one). The cool thing is that they both can fold right up and be out of the way. Then you could have some wall mounted storage options to leave a minimal footprint and have the rest of the space serve as an office. Hope this helps. And if you do end up building that space, definitely make a video about it!
Dude! That looks awesome!! SOOO many ideas now!! I JUST started building my home gym in our basement...with a LOT more limited space than you! Thanks for the ideas! Subscribed and looking forward to more!
Homegym looking great! Little Tip: i have adjustable dumbbells similar to yours and a great way to make them more easy to use is to get collars like you got for your barbell, but just smaller in diameter so that they fit on your dumbbells! They may not hold as tightly because of the threads like they would on a smooth shaft, but in my experience i loaded my dumbbells pretty heavy and they have been holding on pretty decent.
Sick! thats my goal for sure. You do need to add a one person infrared sauna, thats my new favorite thing! and to save a little bit of space, the nuobell adjustable dumbbells are amazing

I'm looking at getting the RitFit PPC02 it's $30 cheaper if you get it in orange, has a lat tower, so you have the high and low pulley. I like this configuration because it comes with a bar with knee pads so you won't pull yourself off the bench when doing heavy lat pull downs. $410 best deal I've found for what I'm looking for.
I do love it. It allows me the potential to get a taller rack in the future. But, it’s kind of wasted space for now lol Maybe I should look into some vertical storage solutions 🤔
Sorry to tell you but if your "dream garage" makes you a fan of the Panthers then it's a nightmare garage and you need to go back to sleep and have a better dream.
@SomeOldDudeMTB sure thing! It’s 19’6”x22’6” Our garage door is on the shorter side though (19 foot depth side vs the 22 foot side), the builder basically took a front facing garage home plan and just put the garage door on the outside vs the front, without changing any dimensions. So, It might change the way you orient your gym if yours isn’t the same. You might need to squeeze your gym on the front portion of your garage vs on the side like we did. I hope this makes sense lol
@ had to think about it for a sec but yes, it does make sense! The hard part is clearing everything out and essentially starting over. Thanks for the info
Just added to the description. A few weeks in, they work great but installation was a pain…I recommend getting the design you want set up first, drill that into the ceiling with screws and then take it all down to install the drywall anchors and then reinstall. You can hard wire them or plug them in directly. I have them plugged into a smart plug that works with google home.
