I really enjoyed that. Quick story about Denmark. I was there in 2005 just traveling around and I ended up in the whimsically named town of Middelfart, every room in town that I could afford was booked. So I was slinking around a semi-residential area planning on sleeping in the bushes once it got dark. A young couple out for a walk with their baby in a stroller stopped me and asked if everything was ok. I told them I'm good just cant find a place to stay. They told me to hang tight, they went home and grabbed a tent etc. picked me up in their car and took me to a campground. In the morning they collected me and took me to a bus station, but not before offering to drive me to my next destination..... the kindness of strangers.
I started hammock camping 2 1/2 years ago because I saw your videos. Last week I cohosted a hammock clinic at a local outfitters. Wouldn’t have happened if not for you. You have made a difference.
I'm another camper you got into a hammock! I'm going this week, wish me luck. :) Actually, you're a big part of why I got that final push to go camping in general. It's just that you're about the entire reason I want to try a hammock. All do respect to the ultralighters and through-hikers, but when you mentioned sleeping for 10 or 11 hours in the middle of the woods, that's what really spoke to me.
Get used to it yer a star in the hammock world, even up here in weee lil Nova Scotia, Canada we have a newly formed hammock group and we direct all newbies to your youtube for TOP NOTCH advice and how-to's. You've kept it real with us and kept us entertained as much as informed and educated with your content. Thanks for all that you've done and do for the community Shug!
Slapping a big like on this video, just like Shug slapping his bass! Beautiful sights. Great bicycle culture. Nice seeing some Dutchware out in the wild. Great cultural exchange. Shug's new Viking nickname is little bear. :) 23:30 I love this clip. Wheeling the rolling luggage through the woods. I thought a lot about my stove options before I purchased one, and I went with the butyl type burner with propane adapter and the 1lb refillable tanks for ease of travel. Seems like propane is one of the most accessible fuels around the world even if it's not the lightest for hiking about. But that's why I bike more than I hike, and I really like having the option to do some serious cooking. :)
Thanks for this video, very cool!!! Don't sell yourself short on the part you're playing in the hammock community!!! There are a bunch of us that camp again because of your guidance!!!!

Yes great color. Mine is amber and the tarp heksa is also very light and userfriendly tensioning systems. I weigh 130kg and not every brand has that rated. But no problems in over 2years of use.
I just realised - Shug must be a perfect Garanpa! Shows tricks, plays the base when with himself, all neighbours and biggest half of the worlds good people greets him on the street... one thing is missing - when will he put his hammock and base on a motorbike and goes to the nearest village (for the start)

You inspire me Shug, started watching you and Hickery and I can’t wait to get my knees fixed so I can get lost and found back on the trails. Keep up the great work.
Good luck on the knees...they are really important for humping on down the trail.....
Real happy to see you in Copenhagen. I live just across in Sweden, in Malmö. So feel like you've almost been where I'm at. Haha. Great as always!
Isn't Malmö where Kurt Wallander series takes place? I've enjoyed all the Wallander shows.
thanks Shug; you're the go to clearinghouse for everything "hammock"! We bought our Draumrs based on your videos about them, along with my Blackbird. We're motorcycle campers, both way too old to sleep on the ground, so hammocks are the answer!
Whoooo Buddy)))))
Denmark is a good place to be, cool that you are having fun! I think I saw Nortent from Norway there too that's cool
Had a top notch time I'll never forget. So many unique tents.
brazilian here, living in BC Canada, watch a lot of your videos and went hammock camping after watching your videos Shugs, tks bud!
BC is a lovely place. Enjoy your hammock quest!
It sure is great to see this. See Shugs you influenced people around the world. Congrats!
I've still got the Hang all over me......so very fun.
Hi Shug! I enjoyed every minute of this one.
Thankee. I've been excited to share it.
Awesome vid. Looks like you connected with a lot of great people. Aaaand I could NOT stop laughing and replaying 59:43!!!😆😆😆😆
Thankee. They gave me several of those meals to try on the trail. More gifts!!!
Welcome , I will send some midges over from Scotland , have a great time. That wooden Knife was alot earlier than the wooded Spoon ...
I'd prefer a madge! The wood was smooth at least.
Somebody’s gonna need a quiet 11 hr night up in the Northern Woods to recharge their social battery, as my daughter would say 😉GREAT VIDEO of a place I’ll never get to go. Thank you !
So so true! It was a wonderful immersion into the humanity fray....
I couldn't help noticing there were few if any heavy people and I didn't see anyone staring at their phone. That had to be incredible being recognized at the camping store. It's less surprising that the hammockers would know you, but still amazing.
Very true. I noticed too. We all seemed to be in the moment. It felt very early 1980s!!!
Really cool stairs at 2:31 and I really loved the building too at 4:22
The building at 4:22...not sure what it was but it spoke to me.
Yeah buddy Shug! Happy to watch this video. A great big Thankee sir!
I'm still processing my time. Missing being there with new friends.
@@shugemery I must say Shug, I split a gut laughing when you filmed yourself pulling that suitcase in the woods at the festival location! Holy hell, that was fantastic!!
Shug, the ultimate global hammock ambassador! 😀
I sure was fun Ambassadoring!
Awesome. Looks like an amazing trip. Whooo Buddy!!
I did miss my basses though! Played yesterday. Thought I may have forgotten how.
@@shugemery Your finger tips can get soft, but you don't forget.
Congrats on climbing the stairs at 11:15 even with the foot hurt! Woooo buddy
It is a bit sketchy climb inside in places. I'm sure folks must get hurt now and again. Lots of huffing and puffing going on.....
Fellow big head guy who has and loves a shug hat as well! Thanks Ariel!!!
Haaa....Large Craniums Unite! Thank you for supporting Aerial...she appreciates it.
Fun to see Shug in my home country!
It sure was fun to be...and to eat there. Love all the Danes I met and felt very welcome.
Glad to see Lesovik gear in your video. Keep going Shug!
Glad to have met and talked with them. I had never heard of them before! Getting me one for sure.
In czech Its very popular and avaible hummock for good price and best quality.
Shug, you could have wasted all that time in some bar, and then there would be less love for hammocks world wide! Thanks for sharing your love buddy!
Well...my bar days have been over for 37 years. Now I'm more at home in a bakery or ice cream parlor!!!
Was just in Copenhagen a month ago! (No hammocking, unfortunately)
But I hope you did some good dining~ Great city to wander.
Whooooooobuddy! This is great Shug! Welcome to Europe for a hammock hang!
Was such a time. Sitting back home now but still feel over there a bit....
Wow what a great trip, great seeing the different hammocks to, thanks for bringing us along 😊
I was truly surprised at how many american hammocks I saw there too. Fun to see the ones I've never heard or though.
Every shug video is like Christmas. Legend
Whooooo Kamerat!!!!
Shug, you are now an international superstar. See you at the next frozen hang. Great video!
Getting see Denmark was amazing. Getting to know all the Euro Hangers I met was better than Amazing. I'll cherish that trip for a long long time. Hope to attend next year.
Love that Polish Hammock company a lot!
I truly enjoyed meeting Rafał, Gosia and Pietr. Big time passion. Very well made hammocks and tightly pitched tarps. There will be on in my future. The Burgundy Ron color spoke to me....
I'm so happy that you were able to interact with people who knew you but treated you like everyone else without the whole fan boy routine.
I rarely feel fan boy-ed. Always seems pretty relaxed. It's just You Tube!
Wow...Just Wow. This is just the coolest ever! Thanks for taking me along, gf
I just don't want to let go of the time I had there yet!!! The folks I met were truly honest and amazing.
Nice to see you in Scandinavia Shug! You should travel up to Noway as well, I can be your tour guide ;) hehe. The word buddy ("Kamerat") is the same in Norwegian as well. In fact most words are very similar. Have a safe trip if you still are out traveling. - Magnus
It was fun to hear the Nords and Danes talk. One told me Norwegian is lyrical and Danish is square. I'm home now and missing all the new friends I made.
Great video from a 11% viking. Greetings from me and my daughter who slept in a hammock for the first time that weekend.
Larsen seems mighty Viking to me.
I have 2% Viking in me but after this trip I have bumped it up to 14% !!! So, did you both have hammock success?
Man! I totally missed this event. Looks like a good time. I would not have minded meeting you too, Shoug. You have inspired me and tought me a lot about hammocking. So thank you.
Fun fact. I work in the office building Woods that is the rest of the red building where Zoku hotel is. I would have been able to spot you from my office window when you got in the car. Sorry I missed your visit. I would have definately have given you a hug and a Woo kammerat! 😄
I liked that hotel. Really nice. Netto close by. Metro. Kinda perfect. Would have been fun to run into each other. I truly loved the trip to Denmark.
I would deffo subscribe to a Shug travel show.... like perhaps a 'Woo Buddy does..." series..."Woo Buddy does Denmark" I would love to see a "Woo Buddy does Glastonbury Festival" and have your take on the circus field and cabaret and Shangri-la and Block 9.
"Old Man Walking"~~!!!
All secure in sector syv!!!
Syv Shug Secure~~
Congratulations, on your favorite driver winning his first Formula 1 race. That was an exciting race from lights out all the way to the checkered flag. Oh, and the video was great as well. It looked like a hell of a time.
LANDO the LOYAL!!!
Nice that Max was first to congratulate Lando. I was just about crying at how happy everyone was that he won!!!!
I learned about hammocks from you so I could go into the woods to quit smoking. Almost 6 years smoke free!!
WHOOOOOO BUDDY!!
Congratulations on both achievements!!
I hope to be there next time in my Lesovik❤
I can't wait to try one of their hammocks. Love that Burgundy Ron color. I'm rooting for their continued success.
Yes great color. Mine is amber and the tarp heksa is also very light and userfriendly tensioning systems.
I weigh 130kg and not every brand has that rated. But no problems in over 2years of use.
Shug! International Ambassador of Lollygag! (Good on ya, sir. You deserve a free trip across the world!)
Unite the World through Lollygag say I~~~
I just realised - Shug must be a perfect Garanpa! Shows tricks, plays the base when with himself, all neighbours and biggest half of the worlds good people greets him on the street... one thing is missing - when will he put his hammock and base on a motorbike and goes to the nearest village (for the start)
First...I need a motorbike!!! haaaaa
