Great informative video. Quick question: Many of the games are now cut off on the sides. For instance, when Donkey Kong starts, you can't see the initials of the high score people. Is this something I can fix??
@@OfficialChaseBrogan I updated my pi last night it had been 8 months since I last did it. I don't see the Bezel project? I don't seem to have as many packages in my list as you do. I did notice that I can hold down on my dpad controller and it scrolls down instead of having to hit it each time.
@@taylorhead9842 hmmm did you go into experimental packages? If so maybe look into the other packages. My pi isn’t in the latest update. Hey there. Loved your video here about the bezel project and will definitely check that out on mine, but was wondering if I might pick your brains for a second. I have a retropie, retroarch and emulationstation build on an SD card running on the Pi4. For an unknown reason when I select a game or a setting, during the screen switch over I get a silly error "Failed to find mixer elements!". I have scrolled the internet for months now trying the suggestions but none seem to work. Sound works fine never been an issue. Just the annoying message at the top of the screen. All I am trying to do is keep the build clean and smooth working. Is there a sure way to get this error cleared? Thank you in advance.
I there ! I updated all my machine and I still can't find Bezel Project, neither in Core Package, Optionals, Experimentals etc... All is up to date :P EDIT: Oh ok I found how to install it with wget, all good, great tutorial I love you :)
Yeah it was recently removed with the most recent retropie updates. I have to do a new video to demonstrate the new process. Glad you figured it out! Thanks!
Hello, so I followed your directions but I’m stuck on where I choose a package, the bezel project is not listed for me to select. Is there a way to get it to show? Thank you
Yeah I’ve been hearing this a lot this past week unfortunately it seems to be gone from the latest updates. I’m looking into this to see if there’s a way to download it through the terminal. As soon as I figure it out I’m going to do a video on it. Sorry for the inconvenience. They’re always making changes with these updates. Unfortunately some aren’t as good as others.
Yeah most emulators allow you to adjust the aspect ratio and they offer all different sizes not just 4:3 or 16:9 so that should line it up better if you tweak that to one of the other options.
Question: Bezel project only works for roms located in the Libretro directory, but there is no option to enable bezels pack to mame4all directory roms, i have all my roms in mame4all, how do I get bezels to work there? thank you!
Onto the card. Not sure of the exact location....never tried tracking them down but it will autoinstall them when you download so you really don't need to track them down for anything.
@@OfficialChaseBrogan ah got it, thanks. I’m more curious for backup purposes, should I expect this in the Hard drive along with my bios and roms or is this something organized within my SD card.
@@Linser22 I'll try to take a look this evening and see if I can locate it. Should definitely be in the filesystem somewhere around bios and roms. Maybe overlays.
I noticed when you opened your retropie menu you had a ton of different opinions there. Hoe do you do about adding some of those? Are they custom menus? Thanks!
Hi. I've just downloaded a build and perfer to remove the entire bezels. Is there a quicker way to totally remove them all easily rather then one by one ?
I have bezel project installed but theme bezels are not working for me as intended. It still shows the generic system bezel for any game that I select. Do I have to be under a specific ES theme for this to work? Help please.
I’m not certain on that. It could come down to the theme though I wouldn’t think so. Check what version of retropie you have. It could be based on a difference in retropie versions or it could just be the way the bezel project is currently. They’re always making changes so it’s not uncommon for things to differ month by month or week by week.
I was able to install the bezel project, but cant seem to download the MAME package it seems to fail after it runs. any ideas why? I have updated retropie and have a rasberrypie 4.
The bezel project has some issues with certain packages. It's likely a temporary issue. I've run into the same problem with N64 snd Playstation last month. It ended up working about a week later. You just have to kind of wait them out sometimes. That's how retropie and the different add ins can be. Sometimes updates can be problematic too. You just have to kind of put stuff on the back burner and try again in a few days or a week. Usually that's all it takes. Scraping titles is the same way too.
New batocera, coming from windows launchbox. i have all bezels working on retroarch on PC. is there any way I can copy my bezels from my retroarch folder on PC to the batocera on my steamdeck sd card so that it would use the same bezels? only asking because all my ROMs are properly named and they match the correct bezels. I used the same ROMs on batocera on my steam deck and wanted to use the same bezels as on my pc. I have a bezel from almost every game. is this possible?
Yes it should be. You could probably locate the files in the file system and just copy and paste them over I would think. Haven't done it myself but should be possible.
I cant seem to get my Gamecube Bezels to display. All my other ones are working. I am using Retroarch only. Everything seems to be in place for my gamecube configs and files, and overlays. Bezel project said it downloaded and installed. I also have a fresh retroarch build so not to conflict with my older setups. Gamecube bezels working for you?
its only retroarch on windows. All other bezels work on windows retroarch except my GC bezels. The Bezel Project says its fine and my roms match and all is matching. I did a re-install of retroarch with only GC and GC bezels and still the same. Its set to 4:4 or core provided and its still black bars. All other config files for NES, SMS and more all look the same and work just fine.
@@MrMoviemashup So I just tried on Batocera for gamecube because I actually change to 16:9 on there so I don't use bezels but I installed them just to check on this for you and I'm unable to get gamecube bezels either. Must be an issue with the bezel project. It will probably get fixed eventually then just updating will get you past the issue. I've seen that happen before. N64 had some issue with bezels at one point a while back. Now n64 works perfectly.
@@OfficialChaseBrogan ok thanks bro. Its not just me. So I decided to set the Gamecube standard bezel as the Core.
