It's astonishing how well that scene translates her mental transition. From being loved, cherished, understood and tightly hugged by her friends she's moved into a instituton, lead by a servant through empty halls into and empty room. Not a single human interested in her, no one welcoming her other way around than from job duty.
I thought it would’ve been nice if one of the girls could have ridden to the palace with her.
@@genxx2724 I know right, but most likely it wasn't allowed
Would have been nice to be able to hang out in her new home with her girls. I can’t believe they left her all alone.
@amyhpete do you believe this to be true? Clearly you don't realise Diana was the one that drastically cut herself from others in the early days, not because of the new role. She fell out with all those around her at different times, does that now scream odd to you? Critical thinking is your friend, don't be led into opinions by others
I like how they got the 1980s eyeliner right. Tight lining with blue.
now her life started in a golden cage
Her friends sound like fun.
No one could have predicted what was to come
No one thought that Charles would have been such a complete cad in every way.
I wish to have a wife like Diana so that I could excitedly show her to my family and we'd treat her as one of us.
I think that’s what Catherine’s family did with William.
She was a naive 19 year old who thought she would be queen one day. Sadly no one told her that life is no fairytale.
They literally told her it would be. They didn’t tell her the Prince tells lies.
She could have been queen if she wanted.
"All" she needed to do was keep her marriage issues somewhat discreet, and inertia and tradition would have made her queen.
But instead, somewhat understandably, she wanted to get her own back and then move on with her life, and so she did the interview and got divorced.
@@HALLish-jl5mo You have that backwards. All Charles had to do was be a decent husband and be faithful to his marital vows. Sadly, he was too jealous of Diana's superstar popularity with the public and her natural ease with people. He went out of his way to be cruel to her and undermine her confidence whenever he could.
@@firenze5555 I in no way disputed that.
However, Charles having an affair didn't prevent Diana being queen.
The French king used to have an official chief mistress. Charles basically had Camilla as official mistress, they could have continued like that indefinitely.
And it's not like Diana was faithful either.
It takes a lot of time and energy to move from one room to another into palaces though
The Queen of people's hearts 😊
The sad thing was that Diana loved Charles but he never loved her. He loved his strumpet CowMilla.
His favourite mistress was the late Lady Kanga. He had other mistresses as well. Cunning Camilla just outlasted them all.
I bet she was thinking oops Dutch..
Hey, good morning! ⛅
Mistress. Cowmilla
No sane woman would say yes to Charles, in fact many rejected his proposal. Diana invited her own death.
What a disgusting thing to say. She was 19. He was 33. She was lied to!
Charles was a gargoyle. But she wanted to be and feel important since her dad treated her as "yet another girl" while waiting for the male heir. And her mother left the family and they weren't close. Her relationship with her step mother was strained and her sisters were cold. She had no love, from no one, when Charles came along she took the opportunity to find love and be somebody important. She was 18 when she met him, what can you expect? Even Diana's older sister said no to Charles. Creepy he dated both.
Charles was considered the most eligible bachelor in the country and, despite the ears, was considered to be very handsome. Camilla had wanted to marry him but he was sent away to avoid it. Sarah, Diana's sister, was keen. so was Kanga. There weren't really many serious women though close to being marriage material. Some women are smart though and realise being in the royal family is a lot of stress and not a fairy tale. Chelsea Davy turned down Harry for that reason. Elizabeth Bowes Lyon initially refused the royal lifestyle.
