For ''pure'' turbo damage in the CSA, there's only really the Marauder, Gladiator, VSD1 and Invincible. VSD1s have mostly light turbos but they do have the missile launchers and the active ability to ''full salvo'' so they reload faster. Missiles are good for long range splash damage so they can either hit multiple ships at once or clustered hardpoints. If there are point-defense ships, the 6 light turbos can easily kill any corvette or frigate that would stand in their way. Those same turbos are pretty good too at killing ships once shields are down. This makes the VSD1 interesting in that, it's a long range missile platform, that gets better the closer the enemy gets because it's able to use all it's guns. Would recommend them, they're also cheaper to buy on Mon Cal. There is actually another ship you will unlock soon. That's right, CSA's one of the few factions that actually unlocks new ships by default (without a big event like Dark Empire). Look foward to it if you want some turbo damage. Do build Nebulon-Bs, great anti-fighter and point-defense frigate. Mediocre at taking on ships even of their size but that's fine because other ships in your roster can do that. I think a New Republic playthrough would be much more fun. You've done a lot of imperials already. The New Republic will be a breath of fresh air, not only because of their unique roster but also because they are very feature complete with government mechanics, generic missions and their command staff mechanic. They also have a great feeling of progression if you start in era 1, you'll start with rebel ships and slowly through time, modernize and get better ships and even change playstyle mid game.
