0:08 Updated April 2nd. My guess. The update was probably ready in the weekend and they wanted to release monday. But realized that it was april 1st and nobody would take a update on that date seriously. This is what i think.
Hey, first of all, thanks for making this mod to the whole team, it's probably the most fun I've had in years with an RTS, let alone Star Wars in years, and the unit variety is incredible. Also, adding another unit to Zsinj's advanced factory to actually justify building one now, great touch, even if that unit's a bit situational at best. Having said that, been tinkering with the code, and some of the units behave, oddly, in GC. For example, the code for the Sorranan Class, and other Zsinj units like the Space ARC cruiser, specifically that governs fighters, doesn't seem to apply changes to the fighter loadout in GC, but only to units you build in the campaign. the changes work in Skirmish, and if the units are spawned by garrison, but doesn't work for units you build and deploy onto the map. I tried to change the fighter deployment for the Space ARC's from I-BEAM's to Cloakshapes, like they were in 3.2 just because personal preference, and yeah, it worked when built in Skirmish, it worked when deployed as Pirate Base Garrisons in GC, but it Didn't work for the ones built by the starbases. Same thing for the Sorannan's. Also, the Sorannan's Code is just, very messy in General, still listing all the other shipyards for all the other Imperial faction's in it's build requirements, plus some code just seems to be placed in odd places compared to all the other ships in the mod.
Wow. I have had my eye on this mod for years but never got round to it. On Thursday I completed jedi survivor and spotted EaW for sale on steam and thought why not relive some of my early twenties (when I first played it). Took the plunge and loaded up this mod straight away and it's blown me away. I can't believe how far it pushes this old game and I might actually be addicted to it 😂. I'm a little overwhelmed by all the mechanics and the sheer quantity of guides but think I'm just about on top of it now. Watching this video it seems I jumped in at a really good time

Corey, have you and the staff thought about adding in a feature for the generic ground/fleet commanders that might allow them to "rank up" and become higher tiers if they participate in, and survive, battles. I.e. a tier v could become a tier iv if it participates and survives 10 battles?
Before the most recent Petroglyph update that wouldn’t have been really possible. I’m not sure if I’m remembering right, but I think after that it might be possible now. Don’t take that as saying it will happen. I have access to just as much information as you do
Things may be generally terrible for playing new tripple A games, but man, this period of time is GOLDEN for mods. Divide and Conquer LOTR mod for med2 1212 for Attila And of course Thrawns Revenge and your group's other projects I mean wow, y'all. You guys should be proud.
I remember playing this game when I was like 10. I’m now about to turn 29 and I’m still playing it thanks to these beautiful mods. Amazing how long a game can last with the right support.
3:14 though with access to a relatively cheap interdictor ship you could eventually post one to each of your frontier worlds easily enough, especially if you can seize some chokepoint planets to limit the number needed.
It's been fun to have the Hutts be more than just a bit of a slog (or bit of a slug) to get through. I kiss the Koornacht cluster being bigger, though. The missions to do various thing i really like.
Started a new playthrough as the New Republic and I'm loving the small changes in addition to the big ones. 8 rocket launchers per platoon of the basic rebel infantry is particularly a godsend and I love their new look!
Looked for news of a possible update a few weeks ago, and here we are. Congratulations for _a customizable Galactic Conquest campaign_ with a fairly comprehensive user interface, enabling e.g. to explore roster variations across eras.
All of this is so epic, it makes me want to get back into empire at war. I haven’t played since 2016, and have over 100 hours. I feel like I’ve forgotten everything though. Maybe I should wait until this mod has even more insane content. It’s so cool.
So the Dark Apprentice Starkiller clone has just been chilling on Kamino since the end of Force Unleashed 2? Does that mean the "failure" Starkiller clone could be in the game on the New Republic's side?
Could there be a possibility of there being a ground version of instant action? As in, one that lets us setup units on both sides, and only let them at each other when the player gives the go-ahead? It would be really useful for the direct comparison of ground units.

I remember to see asteroids and other space things as decorations in Galactic Conquest map. are they removed? or how can I activate it again? Also it seems every planet is linked to 4-5 other planets, there should be some choke points for specific places like only 2 planets are linked..

Can somebody help me with a problem? I don't understand the new era system. In the past one Era goes for many cyclus' (I thought one era = 60 cyclus') or it progress if the imperial leader dies. But now I can change to Isard in Era 1. And theb I can instandly change to Thrawn but then I'm still in Era 1. I saw that the Eras are goung for somw cyclus and it's not the same cyclus amount in each era. But now the real problem. After I got Thrawn in Era 1 the Era's are progressing but I can't unlock the other Era things. In the past you unlocked Palpatine and the Eclipse in Era 3a but after Thrawn nothing happens. I'm in cyclus 156 now and I still have the Thrawn leadership. Thrawn is alreadd dead for like 50 cyclus. But there isn't any research option for palpatine and nothing happend automatically. Did they remove all Era's after Thrawn??? That would be my only possible explenation but corey didn't said this is this video.
Imperial Regimes are not locked to eras anymore. Eras are purely about passage of time. Regimes aren't tied to that. Getting to Dark Empire and beyond requires beating some of the Warlords. The government overview screen explains it all.
It’s been a while since I played thrawn revenge. Did the MC-75 submod get incorporated into the main mod? How do you access it and the other ships now?
It has, indeed, there is a new button above all of the other buttons on the left, it's at the very top, you click it and then click on a planet, and you'll have access to a bunch of misc options, amongst them: -Turn on or turn _off_ Cruel AI mode -Activate the canon units mode -Activate the fanon units mode (currently only the Impellor star destroyer for the core empire, but more ships will likely be added in the future) -(Fall of the Republic exclusive) switch between various legion skins as the default skin for clone troopers, instead of plain white -(Fall of the Republic exclusive) switch the skin of the B1 droids currently being produced (can be tan, Geonosian reddish-brown, Republic Commando pattern)
Is there a fansite where all space units of each faction is listed? And is the there a way to disable the AI in the xml files to make a playthrough to lernen the mechanics of the mod?
Legit.groups allow Empire have a lot of heroes. I mean a LOT. But New Republic limited to several heroes and the requirement to choose between them... little bit frustrating my inner roleplayer. There are possibilities to allow the Republic to have more significant admirals, please?
Tbf the legitimacy heroes are uhhhh....varied...in effectivenees, and you guys do get a tier 2 or 1 off the bat with ackbar. Tier 3 is the best the empire has until thrawn, and then when we get him we lose the ability to make executors
@@CoreyLoses I'll be honest I'm not sure how much more limited the legitimacy heroes can be. You're playing Russian Roulette and you'll hopefully get someone good butttt
If you add a Corellian faction, here are some ideas: They exist as, ostensibly, Imperial vassals and have debuffs to ship construction speed (but buffs to money) while they are. They can choose to declare independence, but will have a bunch of bad events following (Economic collapse, gang takeovers, etc.) Since they hadn't been a state in such a long time. Could also be a neutral faction, unlike Kuat, that could be swayed by both the NR, and Warlords. They could sell contracts to ships to certain factions, or revoke it to others. *I am aware how difficult these are to add; I've seen what modders have to do to work with old games, but these guys seem infallable.*
The Corellians are planned to be a faction, many of their ships are already in game, and I think they already have designs for their faction mechanics, if I'm not mistaken they will indeed transition from an imperial faction into its own thing as they develop. I don't know what will be their alignment when you aren't playing as them, I imagine there will be a presumed beligerence much like they did with the Hapans, but as the player's faction, they cannot be neutral, alliances and diplomacy in general weren't in Petroglyph's mind when they made a strategy game with three factions that have no reason to cooperate with each other, so Empire at War isn't very good at it; the EaWx team managed to find workarounds in how they created the CIS, and they probably will do so again for the Chiss-Empire of the Hand factions, but organic diplomacy is out of reach, unfortunately. One thing that I could see happening, is the NR and the Corellians being able to absorb the other faction (whichever one isn't playable) to simulate their diplomatic ties, we'll see how and if they will do something like that.
just a question, I believe I remember you saying mandalorians won't be playable (though this may be me going crazy) but I saw the pie chart at 8:58 and the mandalorian clans are one of the factions on there. Seeing as independent forces aren't there is this just a conscious decision or are we actually getting playable mandalore in TR?
@@dreamypizza8458 "Independent" and "warlords" are functionally meant to be the same thing, it has more to do with what the factions are in coding. Suffice to say that the white-colored team is the neutral and unaligned team, that can represent a variety of stuff, from minor warlords in the Imperial Civil War, to completely neutral systems in the clone wars or the old republic, to minor factions in the unknown regions, and so on.
This is the second time that I've been mid-campaign when the update dropped which leaves me conflicted. Do I download the backup of the older version to finish out my campaign? Or do I drop everything to get access to these spicy features?

While not impossible, that would be significantly more complicated to set up, so it's not really a priority to work on.

The direction that would be going is limitations on legitimacy heroes, not removing limits on the command staff.

If you add a Corellian faction, here are some ideas:
They exist as, ostensibly, Imperial vassals and have debuffs to ship construction speed (but buffs to money) while they are.
They can choose to declare independence, but will have a bunch of bad events following (Economic collapse, gang takeovers, etc.) Since they hadn't been a state in such a long time.
Could also be a neutral faction, unlike Kuat, that could be swayed by both the NR, and Warlords.
They could sell contracts to ships to certain factions, or revoke it to others.
*I am aware how difficult these are to add; I've seen what modders have to do to work with old games, but these guys seem infallable.*
The Corellians are planned to be a faction, many of their ships are already in game, and I think they already have designs for their faction mechanics, if I'm not mistaken they will indeed transition from an imperial faction into its own thing as they develop.
I don't know what will be their alignment when you aren't playing as them, I imagine there will be a presumed beligerence much like they did with the Hapans, but as the player's faction, they cannot be neutral, alliances and diplomacy in general weren't in Petroglyph's mind when they made a strategy game with three factions that have no reason to cooperate with each other, so Empire at War isn't very good at it; the EaWx team managed to find workarounds in how they created the CIS, and they probably will do so again for the Chiss-Empire of the Hand factions, but organic diplomacy is out of reach, unfortunately.
One thing that I could see happening, is the NR and the Corellians being able to absorb the other faction (whichever one isn't playable) to simulate their diplomatic ties, we'll see how and if they will do something like that.

but I saw the pie chart at 8:58 and the mandalorian clans are one of the factions on there. Seeing as independent forces aren't there is this just a conscious decision or are we actually getting playable mandalore in TR?
there is Independent warlords on there so it could also be all the non playables except independent forces
Mandalorians are playable in Revan’s Revenge, and they like to keep faction colors the same between mods if the faction appears in multiple mods
Theg are non playable faction go look at fall of the republic mandalore is a different color than the other independent forces

@@dreamypizza8458 "Independent" and "warlords" are functionally meant to be the same thing, it has more to do with what the factions are in coding. Suffice to say that the white-colored team is the neutral and unaligned team, that can represent a variety of stuff, from minor warlords in the Imperial Civil War, to completely neutral systems in the clone wars or the old republic, to minor factions in the unknown regions, and so on.

This is the second time that I've been mid-campaign when the update dropped which leaves me conflicted. Do I download the backup of the older version to finish out my campaign? Or do I drop everything to get access to these spicy features?
