- Modern Music Masters is thrilled to announce the release of "An Evening With Lloyd Green".
This is just the highlights of the hi-def video and audio footage of Lloyd's amazing 74 minute performance at Paul Franklin's Nashville Steel Guitar Camp in August of 2021.
Lloyd and his trio, (Russ Pahl on archtop acoustic guitar, Dennis Crouch on upright bass) play the signature licks, intros and solos from 10 of Lloyd's most famous sessions, including full instrumental versions of "Till The Rivers All Run Dry", "Venus Moon" and 'Borrowed Angel".
Lloyd tells the detailed stories behind the sessions and gigs he did for each song, an eye-witness account of the Golden Era of pedal steel guitar and Country Music.
We included the entire 7-part Paul Franklin and Lloyd Green interview as a bonus.

What an amazing player. His touch and tone are instantly identifiable.
Many would agree with you, can I add one more name that is instantly recognisable and was probably the busiest steel guitarist in Nashville ,Pete Drake. When Lloyd and Pete were picking you never needed to ask " who is the steel player" they were two of the most recognisable sounds and styles on pedal steel.....although Lloyd was technically a better player , Pete did some great sessions.
@@WildPhotoShooter Lloyd has an instantly identifiable sound, touch and tone, ditto with the GOAT, Buddy Emmons, Ralph Mooney, Hal Rugg, Weldon Myrick, Paul Franklin, Dicky Overby, and a few others. I identify Pete by the era, the artist , and the simplistic approach he took tracking.
While he arguably was one of the best known pedalsteel players and maybe one of the most successful, he owned this own studio, IMHO, he was hardly the best player in town.
@@derbyd10 Yes I agree, there are many players that were technically better than Pete Drake BUT Pete was probably the most successful AND was preferred by record producers because he didn't play for himself but he played to complement the vocalist......and there are not may people he didn't play for.
Lloyd took a page out of Pete's book, he said in one interview that he copied Pete's ethos when doing session work .....that is probably why Lloyd was also a very successful session man after Pete.
Curley Chalker, although a superb player, always wanted to play the fancy licks and wasn't always what the record producers wanted ......many superb steel players did the same and didn't get the work. Billy Sherill said Pete was the best for studio work "because he didn't get in the way" .
God, that sound is so beautiful, and you sir are awesome❤
Lloyd is my hero.
The Cool Steel Man himself baby!!!!!! What a master, a true living legend of the pedal steel guitar .
The Lloyd Of Nashville … one and only

Lloyd sounds as good as ever! Man, I wish I could’ve been there! Watching for details on this years camp!

Very nice. Thanks for sharing this!!! Also nice to see Russ Pahl playing acoustic next to Lloyd
Beautiful and I love how the double bass and guitar tastefully support and highlight the lovely pedal steel playing and tone.
Totally agree! Very pleasant soundscape that gives the steel room to breath
Grandmaster steelplayer.. On many records of Faron Young.. Play now pay later.. Give me a lonely heart of home..
About 2002 I attended a Pedal Steel Course with Jimmy Crawford at his home . Jimmy was going to have Sonny Garrish over as special guest. Sonny couldn't come at the last minute so Jimmy said that he would have Lloyd Green over. After I did a back flip out of my chair Lloyd came over and shared some stories and gave some advice. I have a pic of Lloyd playing my BMI Steel along with some of Lloyd, Jimmy and myself. The next day I went jogging with Lloyd at the Moss-Wright park in Hendersonville TN. It was a week I'll never forget.
Borrowed Angel, top shelved. Thanks
he is quite simply the magnificent sound of Nashville tennessee no posum waylon merle without him
3:44 That thumbs-up from Russ Pahl.
Legend is overused word. Lloyd put country sound in country along with other great pdalsteel pickers.
I don't know who videod this evening but you should have captured every song to completion because Lloyd Green was the best in my opinion
These are highlights and clips of the full show, commonly known in the Marketing world as a teaser. They are supposed to show you enough of the entire 74-minute performance (as noted in the description) to entice you to actually purchase the $39 video wherein Lloyd plays the key steel guitar segments of the songs and discusses the session and his memories of the era to a room full of pedal steel players.
Beautiful, looks like Lloyd is using a Peavey Nashville 400 amp for this.
Wait Mr Lloyd green is still alive ?
Yep! He and Paul Franklin did a bunch of studio videos not too long ago- fantastic!
@@glenhenning9261 amazing would love to sing and he play the steel pedal its magical sigh country and western music is fading away from its divine roots.
